If you hadn't heard, the Ohio State Buckeyes will be competing for their second national championship under the College Football Playoff system. It was a pretty big day for Kane. He gleefully breaks down the entire game for roughly 16 minutes from 31:25 to 47:42. If you don't care for a breakdown of a game you've already watched, just skip that and listen to the rest of the episode where we talk about our favorite and least favorite parts of the Big Ten bowl season, the impact Ohio State winning a playoff game has for the conference and a quick shoutout of how really freakin' good the conference is in men's basketball.Want your opinion/question/snarky remark heard on the show? We recap the last week of the "regular" season for the Big Ten then get right into our grievances about the College Football Playoff, the Big Ten and head scratcher of a self-imposed penalty by the Buckeyes. We wrap up with a few questions from Kevin Parker of Standing Room Spartans. Skip ahead to 31:25 if you want to hear the airing of grievances. Have a safe and happy Holidays, Buckerine listeners.
Lovie Smith was fired, Nebraska decides to go with the junior QB and Rutgers won't finish last in the East. All this and there is still a week of Big Ten football to go!
The Game is no game. The Big Ten has dug itself into a hole. The only fair thing is for Indiana to be Big Ten Champions and play in the College Football Playoffs.Tweet the show @BuckerinePod, follow our new Instagram page (@BuckerinePod) or leave a message for the show to be played on air (517-618-1960).
The Big Ten 2020 football season is winding down (faster for some teams than others). We look back at the results of Week 6 B1G action and ponder what is in store for the conference in the coming weeks.
Two out of six games were entertaining! The rest... well, you know. The 2020 Big Ten season is no where near what anyone thought it would be, but much is finally being sorted out. Plus media picks for B1G basketball and the Wolverines have what could be a national championship-winning hockey team this year.
The boys give their "expert picks" on B1G action against the spread.
A relatively boring week in B1G play means some teams have some BIG worries. Is there cause for more concern in Ann Arbor or State College? TOM ALLEN HAS HIS TEAM IN CONTENTION FOR THE COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF. Illinois punted on 4th & Goal. On a brighter note, hockey returns this week!
We both went 3-2-1 in picks last week. Have to get better from there, right? There's even a game that Kane is actually putting money on this week!
We recap the second week of B1G action. The conclusion: don't base anything off of week 1 unless it is that Ohio State is the best team in the conference and why does anyone else even play? Our boy Tom Allen has his Hoosiers as one of three surprise 2-0 teams in the conference, Mel Tucker looks like the veteran coach in Ann Arbor and #LOLIONS of Penn State.Even if you hate us, we have an incentive to listen to the podcast! You'll know why when you hear it... #WolfPackDiscs
Since you never bet on Week 1, where do we put our money at in the Big Ten this weekend? We've got three consensus picks and three disagreements going against the spread. Who will be right? Probably neither of us.
What was once thought impossible became everything we could ever hope for in Week 1 of the 2020 B1G season. We celebrate Tom Allen's big moment, defend the Spartans after a poor outing and contemplate why we ever feared the turtle.
We start out with a few somewhat-related B1G news items before getting into previews of this week's game (well, Kane does while Derek has no idea what is going on). We end with a civics lesson while discussing our favorite B1G head coach, Tom Allen.
We're back (again)! We break down the B1G announcement from today and our thoughts on the conference going forward.
We have a schedule! What do we think of it? Mostly good. Plus other tid bits of news that has come out.
The boys are back for season 2 and start out by running the #BTNBig10k. We share some thoughts about the upcoming season (and what could've been done better on the Big Ten's part when it comes to scheduling). While there's hope for a full season of football, there's even more hope that this season of Buckerine will be even better than the last!
In mirror of last week's episode, we take a look at our five favorite Ohio State football games. Some surprises may be in store, but prepare for a roller coaster of emotions for Ohio State fans.
We take a look at our top five favorite Michigan football games. Surprisingly, Derek picks his five favorite Michigan football wins while Kane chose his favorite losses. Be sure to listen all the way to the very end of this episode for a very special plea from the hosts.
Kane dials up a bunch of friends to talk about the NFL Draft including how their favorite teams drafted B1G players.0:00 - 21:51: Kane and Kevin talk Detroit Lions21:51 - 35:34 Kane and Brennan talk Dallas Cowboys35:34 - 59:43 Kane and James talk Cleveland Browns59:43 - end: Kane and Derek talk about Josh Uche & American Pie
The best weekend of the year is coming up (in Kane's eyes): The NFL Draft. We took the first 32 picks in the draft and selected ONLY Big Ten players (3:00-57:20). Some controversial picks to be sure. In the second half of the show, we discuss the latest binge-worthy Netflix show, Too Hot To Handle, with special guest Madeline (59:20-1:44:10).WARNING: The discussion on Too Hot To Handle is by far the most we've dived into pop culture yet and gets raunchy at some points. It's a great segment for our parents to ask us about next week!www.wolfpacksdiscs.comPromo Code: BUCKERINE
