Ohio State's 42-17 drubbing of visiting Tennessee in the first round of the College Football Playoff Saturday night was the best win for the Buckeyes since they smothered Clemson in the semifinals of the CFP four years ago. Now can the Buckeyes exact revenge on Oregon at the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1 and advance to the semifinals?
Dave Biddle and Dan Rubin discuss that and much more on the Monday 5ish.

The media has not spoken with Ohio State offensive coordinator Chip Kelly for nearly a month. That will change at approximately 12:30 p.m. ET today, following head coach Ryan Day's press conference. It will be interesting to finally hear what Kelly has to say on many fronts. Why did he fail to adjust his game plan against Michigan when it clearly was not working? What stands out about Tennessee's defense? What changes might the Buckeyes make on their offensive line?
We are of course just five days away from the College Football Playoff first-round matchup between the Buckeyes and the visiting Volunteers on Saturday (8 p.m. ET; ABC/ESPN). Ohio State is favored by 7 points. What are our vibes on this game?
Also, the transfer portal is heating up more by the day it seems. We give you the latest from OSU's perspective.
Dave Biddle and Dan Rubin cover all of that and much more on a jam-packed edition of the Monday 5ish.

New names by the minute. Offers being exchanged. Yes, the transfer portal is currently gobbling almost all the headlines.
Who is Ohio State targeting? Which positions of need are going to be addressed? Who is after the same transfers?
We have Bill Kurelic and Mark Porter here for their usual stay to bring you info on all that.
A huge Nevada tackle ready for World domination?
B1G transfers aiming to move up the standings?
Relatives of incoming Buckeyes attracting interest?
All that and a new offensive tackle in the Class of 2026 to obsess over in Baker-Sanders-like fashion?

Ohio State's first-round College Football Playoff game against Tennessee is just 10 days away, which is a bit hard to imagine. The Buckeyes have been the target of a lot of criticism lately, mainly for the egg they laid against a bad Michigan team to close out the regular season. Also, OSU fans have been called to the carpet for not making Ohio Stadium a difficult place for opponents to play.
Can Ryan Day and his team silence their doubters on all fronts come Dec. 21?
Matt Baxendell and Dave Biddle delve into that and much more on the Monday 5ish.

After much debate, we now know what the College Football Playoff field looks like. And it appears to be a daunting draw for Ohio State. The No. 8-seeded Buckeyes will host ninth-seeded Tennessee on Dec. 21 (8 p.m. ET; ABC/ESPN), and if the Buckeyes prevail, they will take on No. 1-seeded Oregon at the Rose Bowl in the quarterfinals.
What do we think of the Buckeyes' possible path in the CFP? Can they go on a magical four-game run? Might they be one-and-done against a Tennessee team that is very good on both sides of the ball up front?
And how in the world did sixth-seeded Penn State get such a favorable draw?
Dave Biddle and Dan Rubin discuss that and much more on the Monday 5ish.

Ohio State landed in what appears to be a very favorable No. 6 spot in the College Football Playoff rankings, which were released Tuesday night. The Buckeyes will likely drop a spot or two in the final rankings, but they appear to be a lock to host a first-round playoff game.
Also, is this the weirdest signing day ever? College football managed to shoehorn in a signing day on Dec. 4, which is one of the strangest decisions we can remember. We'll keep saying this until we're blue in the face: the early signing period should be the final week of July, right before training camp begins.
The good news is this means the media will get a chance to speak with OSU head coach Ryan Day today. It is the signing day press conference, but of course many questions will be asked about the Buckeyes' offensive and special teams debacle in their loss to Michigan last Saturday.
Dave Biddle and Steve Helwagen delve into all of that and more on the Wednesday 5ish.

Then it was a full preview of tomorrow's goings on. Who's in? Who's out? You know the big names - Na'eem Offord, David Sanders - but we dive deep on all possibilities.
We even offer up 'Buck-Eye In The Sky' action from Saturday's heartbreaker.

After one of the worst losses in recent memory, where does Ohio State go from here? Can the Buckeyes pick themselves up and get focused for a playoff run? Or did losing at home to 20-point underdog Michigan take too much out of this team? What might the future hold for Ryan Day?
Dave Biddle and Dan Rubin discuss that and much more on the Monday 5ish.
