This is the end. We've reached the end of Season 3 of Burning River Sportscast. A season that covered the disappointment that was the 2024 Cleveland Browns season. And we are thankful that we don't have to continue living in the nightmare that it was. It was a year that started with Super Bowl aspirations but instead brought us anger, resentment, grief, and despair at every turn. But as we Browns fans always do, we will now look to the future and assume that there is only one way to go from here and continue on with the unofficial Browns mantra... "There's always next year..." That's a wrap. The shit show that was the 2024 Cleveland Browns Season has finally come to an end and we've all been released from the captivitiy we've been held in every Sunday for the past 18 weeks as we've watched some of the worst football ever witnessed by man. Seriously... what the hell was that? And now the Browns are "running it back" with basically the same front office and coaching staff so obviously we have A LOT to look forward to. In case you didn't catch it, that last sentence was dripping with sarcasm. It's official. Football season is over. In this final week of the season, to close the year out with a bang, the Browns swept all the categories they were nominated for at the NFL Honors, they announced the probable extension of two key staff members, the Haslams have entered into an agreement to purchase some land in Brook Park, and rumors continue to swirl regarding cutting the most beloved player on the roster! Plus the Super Bowl happened and it did not disappoint! We were treated to only the second overtime game in Super Bowl history and the first one where a whole team didn't know the overtime rules. It was a battle right down to the final score but in the end the most recent dynasty just could not be denied. Are Bill Belichick and Tom Brady already witnessing their time as the best coach/QB duo of all time come to an end? Only time will tell... and maybe the first ever 3-peat puts all the arguments to rest next year... maybe. It's Week 16 and most Cleveland Browns fans are looking to the offseason and the NFL Draft in April. Even the team is talking more about their plans for their new stadium than their current season.
