It’s hard to find someone who hasn’t experienced burnout. In March 2020, when the pandemic hit, Chris Smalls was an hourly worker at a warehouse in Staten Island. Today, he is the president of the Amazon Labor Union. In this episode, we learn about how working conditions can contribute to burnout in workplaces across America. We’ll also hear about what we can all do to redesign workplaces to avoid burnout.  Correction: A previous version of this episode had an incorrect statistic related to Amazon’s hiring pacing, which has since been removed. Before Shannon quit her job in talent management, work was so taxing that she would dream of being admitted to the hospital, just so she’d have a good excuse to not answer her email. The producers of this series wanted to share another Lemonada Media series with you as a resource in the wake of the recent Supreme Court verdict.  In this special breaking-news edition of In the Bubble with Andy Slavitt, Andy helps you understand the impact of yesterday's Supreme Court decision on Roe v. Wade. As health clinics in several states halt abortion procedures due to the decision, Andy gets reaction and action items from Caitlin Cruz, a reporter from Jezebel who covers reproductive rights; Grace Howard, an expert on reproductive law; and Renee Bracey Sherman, a reproductive justice activist protesting outside the Supreme Court. Find out what the ruling means, where to seek help if you or someone you know is worried they could be prosecuted for their actions, and how to support those in need.
