For this episode, we are joined by Dr. Nazeem Muhajarine to talk about booster shots. Dr. Muhajarine is an Epidemiologist and Professor for Community Health and Epidemiology at the College of Medicine at University of Saskatchewan. He is also the Director of Saskatchewan Population Health and Evaluation Research Unit (SPHERU), and a Public Health Leader for Health Systems and Social Policy Impact at the Coronavirus Variants Rapid Response Network.

আমরা দেখতে পাচ্ছি যে অমিক্রন ভ্যারিয়েন্ট কমিউনিটিতে ব্যাপক ভাবে ছড়িয়ে পড়ছে, তাই বুস্টারশট প্রয়োজনীয় হয়ে উঠেছে। তবে অনেকে এখনও টিকা নেওয়ার বিষয়ে বিলম্ব বা বিবেচনা করছেন। এই অনুষ্ঠানটিতে সাধারণ মানুষের উদ্বেগ এবং প্রশ্ন নিয়ে আলোচনা করা হয়েছে।
অমিক্রনের ব্যাপক বিস্তার এবং এ নিয়ে প্রশ্ন করা অত্যন্ত স্বাভাবিক, বিশেষ করে এটি দ্বিতীয় ডোজের পরে জনসাধারণকে দ্রুত সংক্রমায়িত করছে । কিন্তু অনেক ক্ষেত্রে-ই এই ভয় ভিত্তিহীন।
আজকের এই পর্বে ডাক্তার নীলাঞ্জনা এবং ডাক্তার এ কে এম আলমগীর -যারা এ বিষয়ে বিশেষজ্ঞ, তারা (১) বুস্টার ডোজের প্রয়োজনীয়তা, (২) পরিবারের সব সদস্যদের জন্য এর প্রয়োজনীয়তা, (৩) এর পার্শ্বপ্রতিক্রিয়া এবং (৪) শিশুদের টীকা ইত্যাদি সম্পর্কে বিস্তর ভাবে আলোচনা করছেন যা আমাকেদের সবাইকে বুঝতে এবং সেই অনুযায়ী সিদ্ধান্ত নিতে সাহায্য করবে।
