Craig Smith evened things up in the 2nd before Sean Monahan put Columbus back in front for good less than 2 minutes later. Petr Mrázek made what could be considered the save of the season in this one, but it was not enough as he allowed 5 goals on 35 shots.
After getting points in each of their last 3 games, the Chicago Blackhawks could not get past the Minnesota Wild Friday, falling 3-2 in regulation. Ryan Donato scored twice for the Hawks, giving him a team-leading 10 goals on the season. Connor Bedard finished with a team-high 4 shots on goal, and Petr Mrazek stopped 24 of 27 shots faced.
Taylor Hall scored his 5th career hat trick (first as a Blackhawk) and the Hawks beat the Dallas Stars 6-2. Connor Bedard scored his first goal since October 26th in Dallas (13 games.) Teuvo Teräväinen and Louis Crevier also scored for Chicago. Petr Mrazek stopped 25 of 27 shots he faced.
