Cake & Convos

Pollen season is in full effect and half of us were not taking it that well. Even though our mood was on the upswing, globally a lot was going on from the last time we spoke. From the Royals grieving the loss of their prince to the uproar across Europe in the sudden formation and dismantle of the European Super League for football/soccer; it was a lot to take in. Yes today's episode revolves around sugar but the real revolution is the corruption that we have to deal with. There will always be a big guy vs a little guy but will you speak up when the time is right? Speaking about speaking up... What would you want people to say about you even if you weren't in the room? Ham and Manga breaks this down brick by brick in this episode of Sugar.         

Everybody is always saying “goals” and have some type of vision realistic or unrealistic image of what they think is “it”. From celebrity couples to objects and things we admire… we try to embody what is the center piece of our happiness. If we are being honest with ourselves… our reality might be a little distorted when it comes to that. This episode provides a little deep dive with some homework if you want it. Take some notes and listen to how Ham and Manga talk about cherries.

Somehow to us it's interesting when we realize how some people keep it in the family. Warning, there is vaccine talk is in this ingredient and how countries were dealing with it (remember... this is dated) so just be prepared. The real question is how do we know if something is actually healthy... or is it something we allow to destroy us from within? Ham and Manga take a crack at it but want your input! 

Is there really "love" in the air? We aren't sure, but it is the season for "appreciation" with the start of black history month. We take our crack on what is culture, who really is invited to the BBQ and why, and the ambiguity of it all. How did you feel about 2021? “2021 is just 2020 that went and got bangs.” As we look forward in to this year we felt that it is only right to actually put out more episodes starting with Season 2/Cake 2 going into 2022. This episode has been dated, but for your listening pleasure we hope this aged well. In this episode of Pre-Heat we talk about various topics like the infamous January 6th recap (it might not be politically correct but uhh… it is what it is), rooting for therapy, corporate responsibility, apologizing, nature vs nurture in lying , the “your truth” conversation and many more. The Pre-Heat to Cake 2 is heating up quite nicely. 

Ladies and gentlemen this has been quite an adventure... not the cake, but the year. We thought Nutmeg would be a perfect ending to tell you guys our mystery cake representing the season. Nutmeg at its origin comes from a tree and produces a quality product, as we reflect on this past year we dig deep to see what quality was produced in this crazy year and what we can bring to the future. Thank you guys for the journey and we will bake again soon. 

Do you guys remember the Cinnamon Challenge? Yeah that was pretty dumb... but it did show how strong Cinnamon can be. There is a lot of Cinnamon in life when it comes to strong personalities and dealing with strong or lack there of friendships. Fruit can surprisingly be added to a cake and it is not horrible. By itself its very popular to eat, but behind it it takes some effort or lack of effort to produce fruit. Some people have a sweet tooth, and it's largely because of sugar. What's a cake without sugar?? We got a little side tracked on this one but we think it might help with the sugar rush. Ham & Manga take on "Who's the sweetest? Gender differences that make all the difference."

Flour traditionally helps determine the density of a cake. If you have looked around we are in some dense times. Since everyone else is taking a crack at it we took a shot at police reform as well as some unspoken family secrets. So in this episode Ham & Manga take on "Reform from the outside in".

Salt is something else to be honest. Depending on how you use it it can be the ingredient to preserve or the key to ruining the whole dish. That is important to break down especially in this episode where Ham & Manga take on "Betrayal and Forgiveness". 

An egg... full of potential, full or dreams, or it can all be full liquid disappointment. Dreams can be crushed, or dreams can be birthed out. Its one of the foundations of our cake. Ham and Manga take on    "Fulfilled Dreams and Life Purpose".

I can’t believe it’s butter! Butter isn’t necessarily a bad thing... but what if it’s pushed to the extreme? Ham and Manga tackle choices for “The Greater Good”.
