This message looks at what John means in chapter 4 when he says that children of God have overcome the world. We see that in Jesus’ life, death, resurrection, and ascension, He has overcome. Therefore, when we accept Him we are given His Spirit and through His Spirit we have already overcome the world. One way to know that you have received Jesus is if you are living as He lived. Jesus’ life illustrates perfectly what it means to love God and love neighbor so that if we simply do what he did we will be obeying God perfectly.
