This is the audio of the Press Conference held on the 22nd of July in Conway Ar. LOG CABIN STAFF WRITER Lobbyist Robert Reed is raising money to file an appeal of Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge’s rulings on Monday, which rejected the wording of two proposed amendments to the state constitution related to legalizing marijuana. “It’s about the citizens of Arkansas losing their right to petition the government to change laws,” Reed said prior to a news conference Wednesday at Simon Park in Conway. “We’re trying to get some things on the ballot so the citizens of Arkansas have got a choice.”

KATV7 http://www.katv.com/story/29465538/cannabis-rally-at-state-capitol LITTLE ROCK – “Cannabis News and Information” radio host Robert Reed gathered with others at the State Capitol Wednesday for what he termed was a “Why we need to end the prohibition of cannabis rally”. Reed, who took up the fight to legalize the plant six years ago said, “we’re losing (Arkansas) in excess of $750 million dollars a year just on the industrial side“. According to Reed 250,000 hemp products are manufactured every year, but the raw hemp in those products are manufactured outside of the U.S. “As you’ll see one of the tables up there has products on it – 100% of those products are planted, processed and grown outside the United States. The only thing we can do is sell the finished products.” In addition to its industrial use, Reed supports legalizing cannabis for medical purposes. He says veterans in particular could benefit from medical marijuana. “It’s time to end the madness, quit putting people in jail, put our farmers to work, put our factories to work and quit populating the prisons for something that is less harmful than water”.
