It was kinda hit and miss over the weekend, depending on where you were. If you were one of those that hit, you hit BIG!! If you were one of those that missed... well, you know how bad you missed! Gonna talk all about where the hit and miss was plus give you the final surf fishing tournament update from Hatteras Island!
Capt. Marty took his show back out on the road this week to 4457 Mill Landing Road in Wanchese, home of Wanchese Marina and The Landing Grill! A good time was had by all that were in attendance and we want to thank Capt. Mark Fann from the 'Fishin' Fannatic', Capt. Jamie Reibel from the 'Phideaux', Capt. Matt Paulson from the 'East Way', Capt. Buddy Calloway from the 'Capt. BC' and Capt. Ben Brown from the 'Miss Oregon Inlet II' for joining us this month. What a great show! To learn more abou...
Check out the latest fishing up and down the Outer Banks from Corolla to Ocracoke.
Fishing... not too different than yesterday. I'll tell you more about what I mean in this report. I also want to thank those that came out to my recording of the Capt. Marty Show at Wanchese Marina yesterday afternoon. That show will be out this coming Saturday.
Offshore was a tad on the slow side this weekend but the piers, surf and sounds had some awesome bites. I'll talk more about all of that in this report. Also don't forget I'm recording my Capt. Marty Fishing Show at Wanchese Marina today at 1pm. I would love it if you came by and said hello and chatted with us!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! The fishing lately has been scary, but there were a few places where people picked away at some back country fish so I'll talk about that, give yall a weekend outlook on fishing and share a quick Halloween story about why ol' Capt. Marty doesn't get trick-or-treaters as his home in Engelhard!
OH MY GOSH THE FISHING WAS not great... hahaha sorry I have to make jokes right now because this weather has got all of us that love to fish down in the dumps. We will bounce back soon enough but for now there just isn't much activity. I'll talk a little about what should be being caught and a fishing forecast in this report.
We're back on that fishing rollercoaster again but, believe it or not, there was fish caught yesterday!!! Yeah, you read that correctly! There was a brave soul out there determined to catch some fish. Where were they? I'll tell you where and what they caught in this report and we must also send our thoughts and prayers to those in Jamaica and to our friends on Hatteras Island.
Fishing over the weekend was GREAT!!! All fishing fronts had great catches - it was so nice to see for a change. Gonna talk about that and the Outer Banks Beach Buggy Association surf fishing tournament that took place on Hatteras Island. Don't get too excited just yet... looks like we might have some more weather this week that could put a damper on things. I pray against it, but it's not looking too good...
Back on the rollercoaster today, however it is on it's way up for the offshore side of things. Boats got out yesterday and had some decent catches. I'll talk more about this and some fun Halloween activities for the kids happening this weekend too!
It's been a roller coaster offshore lately. One day the fleet gets out - the next day they don't! Needless to say there wasn't much going on offshore yesterday... BUT there was on all other fronts! I'll get you up to speed on it all in this report.
How was fishing yesterday? Take a listen and I'll let you know!
Not a whole lot crack-a-lackin on the offshore side of things but there was action on the piers, in the surf and in the back country. I'll get you up to speed with who, what, when and where in this report!
The fishing over the weekend seemed to return to normal from the weather we had the week before... for the most part! I'll talk to you more about what went on over the weekend in this report.
Still not quite back to normal yet after the weather we've been having but we are on the way there! I have your current fishing news and the weekend outlook in this report.
A lot like the last few days, there hasn't been too much to report on. So I'll tell you about what little I know of the action and get you up to speed about the deer rut that's taking place right now for all of you hunters out there!
I mistakenly titled yesterday's fishing report with today's date! Just realized that, my mistake. But TODAY is the 15th and, a lot like yesterday, not a super active fishing day BUT there were fish caught in a few different areas. I'll talk about that and the importance of creating a "float plan" in this report.
Still waiting for a fishing bounce-back from the last few days of nasty weather. Not a whole lot to report on but we're gonna talk so listen up!
As you've probably guessed there wasn't any fishing done this past weekend (none that I saw at least), but I will get you up to speed with what was being caught and what will likely be caught on all fronts once we get on the other side of this nor'east blow!
As expected the offshore fishing was non-existent due to the winds but there was some action in the surf, off the piers and a tad in the back country. I'll talk about that and the weekend outlook in this report.
