They have great food booths with all new offerings, and you can meet Clarabelle or Reindeer Pluto. How Tanya was totally judged by a little girl for meeting Clarabelle. Tanya got a tasting pass. The food was the main thing she planned this week. She went through each booth and made sure to get stuff that cost at least $6.00 to get her money's worth. The eggnog macaron was really good. Viva Navidad! was great to watch this year. It is an immersive atmosphere that video doesn't do justice. Mater's Junkyard Jamboree and Luigi's Joy to the Whirl they play all Christmas music and it is decorated. Thor & Loki meet in the Hollywood backlot area. Tanya's game plan included finding Loki. She waited until they set up a rope and then they got in line. She was fifth in line. Thor comes out and does an introduction then his brother Loki comes out. The garland is back in Disneyland. How the Christmas fixtures on the lights in Florida are nice. Peppermint beignets are back in Disneyland. The boysenberry beignets died Tanya’s fingers blue for a week. They are also making the candy canes. Disneyworld has a bunch of new stuff. Heather is going around her birthday for a couple of days. Hollywood studios has really good decorations this year. The Christmas tree is in Echo Lake. Gurdie is decorated for Christmas. There are two angles for photopass and their are ornaments in the water and there are deer around the lake. Gurdie is the dinosaur on Echo Lake. There is a projection show at night. They also have a lot of great new foods. They even have flavored hot chocolates and a hot chocolate flight.   How it is hard to get in the Christmas spirit when it is 90 degrees. Hollywood Studios have new magnets for Christmas. This is a must stop for the holidays. Epcot has holidays of the world or festival of the holidays. They have a lot of good food including the Cookie Nook. They have also added holiday characters. Belle is in a red Christmas dress. Belle and Aurora have traded meeting places, but Aurora has a pink poinsettia in her hair. Snow White has holly in her hair. There are also songs from Coco being performed. Donald and Pluto also dress up for the holidays. They have the storytellers in Norway and there are stories from different countries. The voices of liberty and the Victorian holidays are always beautiful. Epcot has a cool New Year's Eve with DJs and dance parties and bars. New Year's Eve at Epcot is highly recommended. There is also a cool dragon in China. There is also a Tomorrow Land show during the New Year's Eve party. Disney Springs has a lot of cool sculptures and decorations along with wine slushies. The gingerbread display is now by the Fantasia store glass wall and it is a Cinderella theme this year. Santa and Mrs. Claus dressed like they would be going to an island vacation. Zero has been added to the haunted mansion. He is an animated version. How Steph is now super excited to go to Disneyland or Disneyworld during the holidays. Next week, Steph is launching a brand new subscription of Disney Park Printables. Digital downloads will be $9.99 and printed will be $19.99. There will be two activities and two posters,

Today’s Episode: Welcome to Capturing Magic. I am Steph Clay and I am here today, with Tanya Hickman and Heather Winfield. Today, we are talking about runDisney and presenting runDisney 101 for people who have never ran the race. Heather just finished her 36th runDisney race and Steph is planning on going to her first runDisney event. One of the considerations is whether they should book early flights and go to the Epcot International Festival of Arts which is happening before the race. We talk about booking rooms, finding discounts, and time schedules. The races are popular so booking early and leaving early are good ideas. Steph gets a lot of her first time race questions answered, and we talk about the balloon ladies, getting great pictures, meeting characters, and more.    You can find Tanya and  Heather here: Every Magic Moment @TanyaH666 on Instagram @TanyaH666 on Twitter HeatherW.com/character I Love Characters on Facebook HeatherW25 on Twitter HeatherW25 on Instagram Show Notes How Heather just finished her 36th runDisney race. Steph is planning to run her first race. Epcot International Festival of Arts is right before the race weekend. It would be fun to go early and catch the festival. How people are having a hard time booking rooms. Using a booking agent to get a good deal on a deluxe room. How it is getting more difficult to find room discounts because the races are so popular and everything gets booked up. It's rumored that some of the Disney hotels are going to book fast passes 60 days out. Any of the Disney resorts and hotels have a bus that will take you to the race. Heather stays at Pop Century or Port Orleans French Quarter. Animal Kingdom Lodge is a little bit too far away. How there was so much traffic getting to the race that the time was pushed back by 5 or 10 minutes. You can't walk into the race, so leave early and take the first bus. The first bus is at 2:30 for the Princess Half Race. Heather wakes up at 1:45 am. How every race has a theme and then a theme within the theme. You find out the theme during registration, but this year they didn't have the information for the theme because registration was early. People theme their outfits around the theme so it would be nice to learn what the theme will be. Rumors are that it will be Snow White, but we don't know. Going to the Disney parks after running a race. You might want to pace yourself. The walking can help your legs a little, but don't overdo it. Take it easy the day before the race. Heather walked the 10K with a broken foot. It's 16 minute mile, but you have a buffer depending on what corral you are in. How Disneyland isn't having races anymore or at least they are postponed. Tanya shares some information about the vintage 50s and 60s themed After Dark Event. How there might be a Star Wars After Dark in the future. Being surprised and delighted by Disney and cool After Dark events. Balloon ladies start off in the last corral and run 16 minutes time, so you have to stay ahead of them. Having a plan for photos with characters. The 10K has had a group of fairies out on the street. The half has heroes or princes on the main road. Before the Magic Kingdom tollbooth there will be characters, but you can catch them after the race and the light will be better and the lines will be shorter. How the number on your bib has the Memory Maker number to get great photos with your PhotoPass. Take your own pictures and have a backup just in case, but the PhotoPass pictures have been turning out really good. How people can cut you off when it's your turn to pass the photographer. It's always fun to try and get great pictures. The castle is a great photo spot when running the half. Race Retreat is a tent that you can go before and after the race. It's temperature controlled and has food and there are a...
Today’s Episode: Nothing captures the memory of Disney more than a photo at the Magic Kingdom. Instagram is full of old and new Disneyland memories, and people seem to be getting more and more creative with their Disney photos. Today, we are going to talk about the Walls of Disney which make a perfect backdrop for Disney photos. Sprinkled throughout the Disney Parks are certain walls and spots that can be used to create photos of some of our happiest moments. Some of them are colored walls, doors, and other spots that you may not even know are from Disney. We are going to talk about some of our favorite walls and where they are located and give you a guide to find these perfect spots. Welcome to Capturing Magic.  I'm Steph Clay, and today, I am joined by Tanya Hickman and Stephanie Haney to talk about the Walls of Disney. Heather Winfield isn’t with us today because she is actually on her way to a Disney Park. You can find Tanya and Stephanie here: Every Magic Moment Tanya on Facebook Tanya on Instagram @TanyaH666 on Twitter HainingMade.com @haining_made Show Notes  Today, we are talking about the walls of Disneyland on Instagram.  Stephanie discovered these on Instagram. The small world ride wall and the details was the one that kept popping up. It's a wall with a big door to the backstage area and a cast entrance. It is still decorated with the small world theme. How the colored wall pictures are super fun and you can't always guess that they are in Disneyland.  We are going to run down our favorite walls and include a guide and photos. Stephanie's favorite wall is the Sleeping Beauty water fountain on the back side of theSleeping Beauty Castle. This is off the beaten path and Stephanie has always loved it. Tanya's favorite wall is the Small World one at Disneyland. You can take the photo at two places. Looking at It's a Small World, you can go to the right where the parade comes out or to the left there is another door next to the theater. How people are getting creative with their poses in front of the walls to create a more unique image. You can also change the distance and your focal point to create a  more unique photo. The Main Street Station trellises have a bench for a seated group shot and the brick wall in the back has ivy trellises. Some issues for this location are the lighting and being a distance from the wall. The Stardust Wall is also a great spot. Head down Main Street toward the castle then turn right on one of the alley ways. In the back near the locker rental is a brick wall. This wall is rumored to be the wall that was used to test some of the brick patterns for use in the Disneyland Park. Tanya likes the good old blue wall at Disneyland. This one is in the Hollywood area where the Mad Tea Party used to be. At one time it was a smoking area, and it is now a cast entrance. Inspite of the location, this is a popular photo spot. The sunset wall is also a great spot. Boo's door at the Monster's Inc. ride is another awesome with flowers and pink colors. Mint Julep Bar wall in New Orleans Square is another great spot to show off your mint julep. Stephanie loves the mural at  Radiator Springs. Go to Cars Land and go to the left of the Radiator Races and there is a great mural painted on the wall. How you can't use a selfie-stick in the park anymore. A QX lens and GorillaPod helps. The mosaic wall where you get smoothies and ceramic pieces in Disney California Adventure is also a great spot. It is also built into an arch and if you whisper to someone on the other side they can hear you. San Francisco girl Stephanie loves the painted ladies which is row of Victorian houses and doors with great colored front stoops to take pictures on. The newest Disney wall is the Big Thunder Walkway. It has a PhotoPass in front of it. Having no mission other than to get photos on the wall and...
It's hard to get to the Disney Parks (Disneyland and Disney World) as often as we would like. Aubree Larsen solved that problem by creating the Disney Parks in her home for a date night. She included tickets, activities, rides, games, and so much more. She is also brewing up an amazing Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party for home too!

I was so curious to talk to Heather and Tanya about how they would be documenting their trip to Disneyland Paris! What will they do with their photos and stories? I'm Steph Clay and I'm here today with Heather Winfield who can be found at heatherw.com/character. Hi Heather. Heather: Hi. Steph: You're HeatherW25 on all social media. Heather: Yeah. Steph: Then we also have Tanya Hickman who can be found at everymagicmoment.com. She is TanyaH666 on all social media. Tanya: Yep. Steph: Yay! Thank you for being here. I got it all right! We've been chatting about Disneyland Paris, your epic adventure, the two of you. One of the things that I wanted to talk to you about, of course since this is Capturing Magic, is how you're going to document this trip. Have you guys, I know that you've thought about it and I know you've talked about it. Tanya: We've more fretted about it. Heather: How are we going to do this? Steph: Going into the trip, did you have a plan in mind? Heather: No. Tanya: No, no. It was take as many photos as possible, deal with it later. Steph: Right. What have you talked about doing? Tanya: Right now, it's Instagram and Facebook. When I post, I used to post to Instagram and Facebook at the same time, but then I realized that literally nobody wants to see my posts five times because they go to Twitter as well and it's just ridiculous. I post everything on Instagram, which sends it to Twitter automatically, and then I wait until I finish a full day's worth of photos or a full trip day worth of photos, because that could take a week to post it out, on Instagram and then I take all those photos and I stick them into one album on Facebook. You can go to my Paris album on Facebook and see all the photos that I've posted. Some of them are Instagram photos, some of them are just the normal photos depending on how I decided to do that. Sometimes I don't like the way they crop on Instagram. That's what I'm doing right now. I came home, I sorted through all the photos, I picked out the good ones that I wanted to post. Heather and I spent a week transferring photos to one another. That takes a long time. I sort through my photos, I get rid of the bad ones, Heather does not. Heather: I don't, no. Tanya: She [crosstalk 00:02:34]. Heather: I have almost 12,000 pictures that I took. Steph: Wow! Tanya: Where I probably had like 6,000 photos that I whittled down to 3,000 photos. I get rid of the bad ones. Heather doesn't. Not that her photos are bad, they're fine, but I've just started going through her photos because I want to put them into my Google Photos so I can get the animations and stuff, but I'm just like, "Oh my gosh, how did she snap 45 photos of this one scene from a princess show?" It is literally like I could make a flip book. Steph: An animation. Tanya: Yeah! Heather: I'm going to be posting those princess pictures for years. Tanya: Yeah, I've been starting to go through her photos. Usually when she comes to Disneyland, I don't need her scenery photos because I have enough of my own scenery photos from Disneyland. I just have her send me photos that have people in them, like us in them. This time I was like, "I need all the photos." We spent a long time transferring photos. Steph: Tell us how you transferred them. Tanya: We do it all through Dropbox. Steph: Dropbox, okay. Heather: Except there was a problem with mine. Tanya: Free Dropbox, not even paid Dropbox, the free Dropbox. Heather: There was something going on with mine.
I was really excited to hear about some of the unique character encounters Heather and Tanya had while they were at Disneyland Paris! How many new characters did Heather meet?? Steph Clay: Thanks for being here today, girls. Heather W.: Thank you. Tonya Hickman: Thanks. Steph Clay: We are doing more Disneyland Paris ... Tonya Hickman: Yay! Steph Clay: ... talking about ... Yeah! Okay, I'm excited. We're going to be talking about Heather's favorite thing today, and we're going to be talking about characters and your experiences with the characters in Disneyland Paris. Who's going to start? Heather W.: I- Steph Clay: Don't everybody just jump in. Heather W.: I can start. Tonya Hickman: I'll start. I'll just touch briefly on ... there are characters out, like the main characters, in their special 25th-anniversary blue outfits, so they'll be out in those all year long for the anniversary, kind of how Disneyland did the 60th outfits for a whole year. They do that same type of deal, but they're solid-blue outfits. They're really cute. The characters at Disneyland Paris, though, only meet till like 4, Heather. They go in early. I think it's like 4. There's signs. You kind of have to get there early to meet them, and then in their 25th-anniversary outfits, you can meet Goofy and Pluto, switch out in one spot. Minnie has a spot- Heather W.: There's not two together, no. Tonya Hickman: Oh they're together? Heather W.: Goofy and Pluto are together, and they switch out with Daisy. Tonya Hickman: With Daisy, gotcha. Oh yeah 'cause you met Daisy. All right, I remember now. Okay, with Daisy. And then Minnie has her own spot and Donald has his own spot. Heather W.: Right. And Donald's is really elaborate. Tonya Hickman: Yeah. It's really elaborate. It's got a really cool backdrop, stage thing. And then Mickie and who else? Heather W.: Chip and Dale. Tonya Hickman: Chip and Dale you can only meet during Extra Magic hours in the morning. Heather W.: Yeah. Tonya Hickman: And even, we heard from some people that they went every day to Extra Magic hours and never got Mickie. Heather W.: Yeah. [crosstalk 00:02:34] Tonya Hickman: So I don't know what the deal is with that. Heather W.: Yeah, and I know at the start, when they first changed over the anniversary stuff they had had Marie Meety, and Miss Bunny, and then I don't know where they went 'cause we didn't see them at all the whole time we were there. We had lots. Tonya Hickman: They have special blue bows, and [inaudible 00:02:55] would have been really cute. So they have those special characters in their special 25th anniversary outfits, so if you want to meet them in those outfits you have to meet them during the anniversary. And then- Heather W.: And they all meet towards the front of park. Tonya Hickman: And yeah, and they all meet towards the front of the park, so that's really easy to do. Heather W.: So I think the reason why they do that with Mickey is because he has his own room. So he's all the way in the back of the park in Fantasyland, so he meets the whole day, so I don't know if that's why he only meets during Extra Magic hours. When we went in I thought he was going to be in his ...

Maybe it will happen. Then it'll be helpful for people to be able to just hit the episodes that they're most interested in and the topics that they're most interested in. Okay. Tanya: Perfect. Steph: Today, right now, this episode, we're talking about entertainment. Tanya: Okay. Steph: And Disneyland Paris so it's all up to you girls. You got to take the reins and run with it 'cause I wasn't there. Tanya: Yes. Yes. Yes. I'll start with saying that if you're going to visit Disneyland Paris, this years' probably the year to do it because they have completely overhauled the entire park for this anniversary so literally, it's probably never going to look better than it does right night. Heather: Yeah. There's been plenty of people who we know who've been before and then they went now and they're just like, "Wow. The park looks amazing." Everything's just really been spruced up and fixed. Tanya: Yeah. For the first time in 25 years. If you're going to go, now is the time to go. With that being said, there's three new entertainment offerings for the anniversary, Heather. Right? Heather: Yeah. Tanya: Parade and two shows. Heather: Yeah. Tanya: Okay. A new parade. Disney Stars on Parade is the name of the parade and it's new for the anniversary and I liked it. Saw it numerous times. Heather: Yeah. It's good. I think I like [inaudible 00:02:41] fantasy and sensational better but, it's still good. It's definitely something to see and the first float is a steampunk type thing and so they're in like, really cute outfits and I really like that. They have the princesses are on their horses. I think, those are my two favorite parts of the parade. Different than you would see at other parks so I really liked that. Tanya: I really like the Peter Pan float too. Heather: Oh yeah. Tanya: He's like on a swinging ship. It's really cool. I've posted videos on my Instagram account. I've been posting photos. I'm only on like day three of photos and we were there for 10 days. Heather: Wow. Yeah. Steph: Yeah. I've been having a lot of fun watching your Instagram accounts and I did notice that the parade looked a lot like the parade in Disney World. Heather: It has the ... Tanya: It has the same dragon, right? Heather: Well, it's pretty much the same. It's like a slightly different color and I think slightly different size but it's the same. When we saw it, most of the time,

Today we are going to be talking about Rivers of Light and the Arts Festival, because you just got back from a trip, and you were able to experience both of those.   Heather W.: Yeah. I went ... Rivers of Light started and they started with the having the FastPass for it. I didn't think I was going to be able to get it for my first day and it popped up so I was really excited. I pretty much got off the plane and threw my stuff in the room, and went to Animal Kingdom. I've been dying to see it because it's been over a year that we've been hearing about it.   Steph Clay: Yeah. You had a FastPass for it.   Heather W.: Yeah. I had a FastPass.   Steph Clay: Tell us how everything works.   Heather W.: First thing was the night we got there and I didn't know where the line was. They pointed us to one way but that was from the DinoLand area, but that was the ... They have dining packages, so I think that's where the dining package was. Then, there's another place and then that was the standby line. I had to walk all the way around, it's on the other side where Everest is. Make sure you go in the right place because walked all the way around. They do have ... You know the PhotoPass thing you hold?   Steph Clay: Yes. The sign?   Heather W.: Yeah, the sign. They had one by one of the lines, like right by the DinoLand one. I got a picture there and then I also got one when I was seated.   Steph Clay: Oh, good.   Heather W.: If you want those. Yeah. We went in. They opened, it was about an hour early. I know when you get a FastPass you don't ... The whole point is to not wait, but I figured since ... I had a friend who was there. She said, "Yeah, they're open," so I thought I might as well just go, might as well just get as good a seat as I can get. We waited an hour, even with the FastPass. I think they were really good seats. Obviously, I wasn't in the other section so I don't know how much better or worse it is compared to anything else, but they all kinda looked the same. It's kind of in a circle.   They had the Jungle Book fill-in show for a couple months. If you were at that, it's the same theater, but it's ... From what I was looking at other seats, it kind of looked like ... You know with Fantasmic, you know the theater, so you'd be on the side or you'd be in the center. We were in the center, I guess. They have multiple barges and the lotus flower things. I think you would pretty much be able to see anywhere you want, it just depends on if you wanted a guaranteed seat or you just want to have to stand and wait in a line.   The good thing with us getting there early is that the seating, if you're in the first, I want to say it was four rows, there's a lot of ... It's very tiered so that if you're shorter like...
