Host John Lund previews Louisville's Week 11 home game against the California Golden Bears and what the Cards need to do to keep their ACC championship and College Football Playoff hopes alive. Also, just one more rant about the first CFP rankings. Not much of a secret on how to stop Cal! It's stopping the arm of lefty freshman QB Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele, who ranks fourth in the conference in passing yards but is also tied for second in interceptions. His throws can be dazzling or disastrous, and the Cardinals No. 1 conference defense will be hoping for more of the latter. Louisville will have some different names in the backfield, with Isaac Brown out with a hamstring injury but Duke Watson probable to be back from a leg injury. With the ACC championship game and College Football Playoff still up for grabs, UofL can hopefully take care of business. And, one more rant on the first CFP rankings, with two more voices to support our arguments from last episode. Andrea Adelson and David Hale on the Inside ACCess show provided more great insight on the stupidity of Miami being eight spots away from Notre Dame, how that impacts Louisville and where the Cards should have actually been ranked. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.
Host John Lund gets mad online (figuratively) about Louisville's spot in the first College Football Playoff rankings and rants about who gets picked for the committee and the selection process of the teams overall. Also, sound from head coach Jeff Brohm's Monday press conference about beating Virginia Tech and what to expect against Cal in Week 11, handing out this week's game ball, how the rest of ACC football fared in Week 10, and what the boys in Vegas think about the conference. The Cardinals have the third-best odds in the conference to win the ACC Championship, but best odds of the ACC to make the College Football Playoff, and win the whole thing?! Host John Lund recaps Louisville's 28-16 win at Virginia Tech in Week 10 to improve the Cards to 7-1 overall and 4-1 in the conference. We'll go over the highs and lows, what plays stood out to change the game and hear back from what head coach Jeff Brohm had to say about the win. A spooky first half the day after Halloween for Louisville that completely flipped in the second half, with UofL outscoring the Hokies 21-0 and keeping their ACC championship hopes alive. Host John Lund previews Louisville's Week 10 matchup against Virginia Tech at Lane Stadium and what the Cards can do to beat the Hokies in yet another Battle of the Birds. We'll also hear more of Jeff Brohm's thoughts from beating Boston College and what to expect at VT, as well as how the rest of ACC football fared in Week 9 and what the boys in Vegas think about the conference. It's the same ol' song and dance for how the Cardinals win this game that we've been talking about for weeks now. A smart game from Miller Moss, establishing the running game, slaying the dragon that is a dual-threat quarterback, winning the turnover battle and not committing stupid penalties. Louisville is playing meaningful football in November, something that a lot of teams expected to be coming into the season and are no longer. And, some Louisville teams that maybe had more talent or promise or trust, also did not. Because even with all the hemming and hawing that comes on social media after games, the Cards are still 6-1, and still in position to reach all of their goals. Host John Lund recaps Louisville's 38-24 win over Boston College in what was ugly, exciting, boring and thrilling Week 9 win, along with sound from Jeff Brohm's postgame press conference. History thankfully didn't repeat itself with the Cardinals suffering an upset the game immediately after winning by with an upset of their own, though the game certainly was uneasy at times. The running game carried the load, the defense did its job once again and UofL improved to 6-1 and still in the mix to play for an ACC championship. We'll highlight the best and worst moments, react to Coach Brohm's commentary and review individual performances in winning the Battle of the Birds. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Host John Lund is joined by Mark Blankenbaker, he's the co-founder of The CrunchZone.com which covers all things Louisville sports and co-host of the Deener Show with Drew Deener on ESPN Louisville, Monday through Friday from 7 to 10 a.m. Eastern Time. He's also on Twitter @UofLSheriff50 and a great follow to keep up with what's going on with the Cards. We'll talk about his trip to Miami to watch the Cards upset the Canes and some trash talk with Miami fans, how he got into covering Louisville full-time, what finally came together against Miami, what Chris Bell means to the offense, how to keep winning like that, if Jeff Brohm is leaving Louisville for another gig, optimism around Louisville hoops and the absolute horror of recruiting a player from the G League. Also, a deeper dive into what to expect from Boston College and what the Cards need to do to beat the Eagles in the Battle of the Birds. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Host John Lund reacts to sound from head coach Jeff Brohm on Louisville's historic upset at No. 2 Miami, check in on how the rest of the ACC fared in Week 8 and see what the boys in Vegas think about the conference. Coach Brohm reflects on the win, how the offensive line played, great games from Miller Moss, Chris Bell and Trevonte Sylvester and the O-Line, what went into calling the fake field goal and added wrinkles to the playcalling, and more. Duke and Washington State did the Cardinals no favors in losing to Georgia Tech and Virginia, but the Cards are still in the hunt to make the ACC championship game (and College Football Playoff) after the dust settled from the weekend. And, we award one lucky UofL player with the Bleav In Louisville Game Ball for Week 8, shinier and firmier than the other game balls. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Host John Lund recaps Louisville's 24-21 upset at No. 2 Miami in Week 8 on Friday night. Highlights of the highs and lows in the "Swells for UofL" and "Unwells for UofL," big plays and game-changing moments, stats for the nerds, and hope still alive to win an ACC Championship. In one of the biggest wins in program history over the last many years, we had Wildcat formations and fake field goals in the first quarter, a staunch rushing attack (finally) against one of college football's best defenses, four interceptions from the Louisville defense, another Chris Bell masterpiece, garbage penalties that could have swung the game, all while on the national stage. Crazy things happen in college football on Friday nights. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See pcm.adswizz.com for information about our collection and use of personal data for advertising.
Host John Lund is joined by Mark Ennis from 93.3 The Ville to chat about his career and preview Louisville's Week 8 matchup at Miami. Mark is the host of The Drive on 93.9 The Ville, Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. We'll get into how he got started in radio by just tweeting too much back in the heydey of college message boards and blogs, what's gone wrong and right for the Cardinals to this point in the season, including Jeff Brohm, Miller Moss, the offensive line, running game and defense. We'll try to figure out a way for Louisville to upset Miami, talk about the optimism surrounding Louisville men's hoops, and not one but two of his best interviews ever done on radio, Mike Leach and Bill Walton. Also, some stats comparing both teams and numbers trends that lean toward Louisville! (at least covering the spread). Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Host John Lund previews Louisville's Week 8 matchup at unbeaten No. 2 Miami this Friday night, along with sound from head coach Jeff Brohm's press conference and radio show. Some updates on the health status of the running back room, using the bye week to work on improving the offensive line and offense overall, how to attack the Miami defense and how Louisville's defense matches up againt Heisman leader Carson Beck, what the Cards can do to pull off the upset, and more. And, some early preseason rankings for all you hoop heads out there, as the men's basketball team is No. 11 in the AP Top 25 preseason poll. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Host John Lund takes a look at how the rest of ACC football fared in Week 6 and what the boys in Vegas think about the conference, as well as what the other Cardinals fall sports teams have been up to across the league. To no surprise, Miami is now heavily favored to win the ACC in football and is an early 13.5 favorite over visiting Louisville this Friday night. Highlights in fall sports include a sweep in women's volleyball, a tough loss in field hockey, a draw in women's soccer, a road trip coming for men's soccer, Athlete of the Week honors in men's cross country and swimming, and retiring Ulysses "Junior" Bridgeman's number in men's basketball. Host John Lund recaps Louisville's devastating 30-27 overtime loss to visiting No. 24 Virginia in Week 6 on Saturday. Highlights of the highs and lows, big plays and game changing moments, and sound from head coach Jeff Brohm's post game press conference help make sense of it all. The Cardinals outgained Virginia's top five offense in the country by 180 yards in the air and almost 150 overall, and lost the game. Virginia had 10 possessions in regulation and scored on just two of them, and still won the game. Louisville senior Chris Bell had 12 catches for 170 yards and scored one more touchdown than Virginia did, and still lost the game. Four plays highlight this game's Unwells for UofL: the scoop and score and Pick-Six, the missed field goal to end the first half, and a 3rd and 20 that didn't actually have to happen and resulted in UVA's lone offensive touchdown. Louisville now falls to 4-1 overall and 1-1 in the ACC, basically needing to win-out or have a lot of help along the way to make it to the ACC championship game, with Miami the first opponent on deck after another bye week. Plus, coach Brohm provides some updates on the Cardinals injuries, the impact of Lacy and quarterback Miller Moss, how the offensive line played, what he's learned about the team through three games, and...
