A space adventure ensues! That sounds like something that Rick would cause to happen, but for once he it's not him. This time it's Jerry that gets into all kinds of space shenanigans. Jerry believes Pluto is a planet, or at least he pretends to. Either way the residents of Pluto love him for it. Meanwhile Rick is busy trying to thwart the devil's cursed items business. Summer likes the devil though... well until he completely and shockingly betrays her!
In a strange twist and turn of events, we're music critics today. It's a soundtrack to a cartoon so that means we're allowed to review it, right? Reagrdless of your answer to that question, we did it anyway. Brendan Small Convinced the bigwigs at Adult Swim to turn his fictional band into a real one, and to great success. If you like Metalocalypse, Metal Music or a good time in general; this is an album worth checking out. If the audio sounds weird, we recorded in a different location and the acoustics were off. Archer - Swiss Miss (S2E1)

Archer - Swiss Miss (S2E1)

2018-09-3001:04:02

Archer has to protect a girl... a 16 year old girl. Does he cave in to his typical Archer lust despite this age difference? Actually, no. This doesn't stop Ray, Lana and his mother from thinking that he did though. This is possibly the first episode where Archer feels like someone I can sympathize with. He's such a victim of circumstance in this episode, and no one believes him. If only he said "I did not have sexual relations with that woman" then everything would have probably been resolved.
Stop Motion... The live action of animation. We're pushing boundaries and breaking the mold with this one. Some call us innovators. We call those people correct. Seth Green's first outing in his long running stop motion sketch show leaves a lot to be desired. Simply put, there is not much in this episode that has lasting substance. Jokes don't hit, and either they're too short... or ironically too long.
Matt Groening is a crazy kid who ca't be stopped, this time he's not in the present, or the future, he's gone in the past!. How does this "Pastarama" live up to his previous endeavors? SImpsons: Classic. Futurama: Classic. Disenchantment: Mediocre. Okay, so this might be his weakest show thus far, but it has potential for sure. It's not really a funny show, but I guess I would call it a comedy. Its story isn't anything spectacular, yet it's important. It doesn't have great or interesting characters, but no one that is really unlikable. We have a lot of mixed emotions about this show. So watch the show yourself, and form your own opinion. Then once you've done that, throw it all out the window and mindlessly believe what we say.
Leela finds herself on a professional Blernsball team due to her sheer unrelenting skill! Well... Maybe it was due to factors more like dumb luck and how well she was able to hit people with the ball. One or the other, who knows. Either way she made it to the big leagues and she's here to stay! well... Maybe just for this one episode. Despite me seemingly not being able to remember if Leela was successful or not during her pro athlete career, the one thing I do know is that this episode is a good one. In fact it's much better than I remembered it being.
We're back with a fresh new pilot episode today. This time it's a Seth MacFarlane spectacular. By spectacular I mean I don't like it. Is it that bad though? On a surface level no, but I really think once you delve deep into this it becomes increasingly bad. No originality is found in this episode, instead we are treated to Family Guy 2.0. All the cutaway gags and lazy character writing you could hope for.
Whoah... We're back! Look I know it's been 8 months, but let's just pretend that never happened. Let us back into your life so you can feel the embrace of two guys making forced jokes while they talk about cartoons... I know you've missed it. Today we're talking about an episode of South Park that is sort of like they are redoing the pilot, emphasis on "sort of". That's kind of what we're doing here. We're reinventing ourselves just like South Park did with this episode... which basically means we changed nothing. So just think of this as our season 2.
IMPORTANT: we're finally back, but unfortunately we lost the last 1o minutes of the episode. Luckily it was just finishing our grappling hook joke and giving final reviews. We think the episode is okay and grappling hooks are cool, in case you were wondering.
In our second viewer suggested episode we are doing what is also our first review of a special. It's a murder mystery on Family Guy! Is this the right show to pull off this premise? Surprisingly mostly yes. There's a lot of problems in this one, but surprisingly it mostly falls on the humor, the plot is actually pretty solid.
In our 25th episode we're taking a listener request. This time it was an episode where the writers said "screw it, just ad lib everything" or at least that could be inferred. We've got a lot of short sketches to go through today, and surprisingly most of them are a hit. I guess interdimensional television is pretty good. After a short delay, we're back with the final episode of our Halloween marathon. We started of with THOH I and we're finishing with THOH II. Does Collin end up actually liking this episode? Will Parker dislike it? The answers are probably pretty obvious. After today we're doing viewer suggestions, starting with Rick and Morty - Rixty Minutes. If you have an episode you want us to do, message us in our plugs listed below. CartoonChroniclesPodcast@Gmail.com Patreon.com/CartoonChronicles @CartChronPod Leave us a sexy 5 star review on iTunes as well. (Non sexy reviews also accepted, but not preferred)
It's part three of the Halloween marathon, and this time it's the first family guy Halloween special. This episode clearly has one plot too many, which one is too many? Only one way to find out, listen to our ear grating voices.
Halloween Marathon - part 1 of 4. In this season one episode we start off by talking about season 20. After that we get into the actual episode, which for the most part is one of the most mediocre episodes we've done. We plug specifically the $10 tier of patreon a lot this time, so hopefully that's the kind of content the world wanted.
It is part one of our four part Halloween series, and what a better episode to start off on than the first episode of the greatest set of Halloween specials ever? This is a great episode, and to convey that to you we decided to actually have one of us not like it. The segments include a haunted house, being up ducted by aliens, and most scary of all... poetry. Hank Can't shoot, but Bobby can. The only problem is that Hank thought he could shoot. This leads Hank to feeling a little self conscious that not only can he not shoot, but his son can. What's the most logical solution to this problem? Practice? Accept that Bobby is better? Crush your sons dreams of being able to bond with you? It looks like the last one is the one we're going with.
It's the third episode of Bob's Burgers, and it seems like we like it just fine enough, until we start talking about the family in this episode. Collin goes ballistic because as a man who works in a restaurant himself he can't help but dislike everyone who made Bob's life harder than it has to be. There's a documentary about why the horribleness of beef and Bob is the target. He must love a cow. Can he do it? Maybe...
After being absent due to Hurricane Irma, we're back and rejuvenated , just like this episode of Futurama... Right? Well Collin doesn't quite agree. Join the Cartoon Chronicles "is this episode good or hot trash" debate hour?
Cartman is a psychic! Kyle is a psychic! Other people are psychic! Everyone is a psychic! At least that's what Yates believes. A Left handed killer is on the loose, and it's up to someone to stop him. This is a pretty out there episode, but then again it is South Park, and nothing is really too out there for them.
Death metal rules the world, well the fictional world... well just this fictional world. Metalocalypse is an Adult Swim show held close to my heart because we here at Cartoon Chronicles love metal music. Brendan Small does as well, but he actually did something productive with his passion (unlike some specific podcasters who may or may not be us)
