It's never too early to become an at-home chef extraordinaire according to this week's V.I.P. Guest Chef Ed Covino! This is great news to Young Podcast Host Cristina Areu (and show researcher/co-host/sister Sofia Areu), who lacked the confidence to make a lasagna or Pasta Alfredo from scratch. Not only does Chef Covino, Bes'Dam Soup founder, inspire these two young hosts and all aspiring cooks (look out Food Network!), he reminds us that mistakes in the kitchen do happen. And that's ok!Does this mean the kids are cooking up Thanksgiving meals this year? Ummmm. Yeah, it does!
In this pre-Halloween spectacular, the Areu sisters get "Chongalicious" — with fashion, music, and comedy. For obvious reasons, Host Cristina Areu and Co-host/Researcher/Sister Sofia Areu easily become immersed in this week's topic. The history of the Chonga Movement, dating as far back as 1988, is broken down through makeup and "chunky" jewelry tips, exciting news of La Rosalia's recent "Chongafied" viral moment, ... and a grand finale compliments of The Chonga Girls (Comedians Laura Di Lorenzo and Mimi Davila!). The best part: the Chonga movement is coming to you! (The Chonga Girls are on tour right now ... proving that this fun 305-area-code tradition is taking over the planet! Maybe.).
The CATALINA Stars have aligned this week to deliver "aerosol" art and inspiration from Artist Enrique Morales to Podcast Host Cristina Areu and Sister/Co-host/Researcher Sofia Areu ... and you! It's not often that art fans get to stare at a painting and ask its artist how it came to be. Sure, Cristina and Sofia have seen "spray paint" art in New York City as kids on the way to Central Park, but watching Enrique Morales create his colorful masterpieces is different. Originally from Mexico City, this painter explains how playing with fire, spray paint and music is a recipe for following dreams. But don't try the fire and spray paint part at home! Not yet. The sisters would like to interest you in a Pirates of the Caribbean artistic ride first ... with a one-of-a-kind, V.I.P., modern day Jack Sparrow ... who can paint!
Asking a “moody teenager” to look away from her phone turns out to be more difficult than anyone thought! In this episode, Podcast Host Cristina Areu asks Co-Host Sister/Researcher Sofia Areu to step away from her weekly research for an update on all things cuddly. The information gathered on sassy kitties and “angry” rescue bulldogs is overwhelming and adorable! See and hear for yourself as these podcast sisters help rescue furry friends from New York to Florida to Clarita in Mexico!Hurricane Ian updates from these Miami muchachas also includes kitties and bilingual dancing for great causes! ¡Ándale!
Without any further delay, the big surprise is here: the youngest podcasters we know, Host Cristina and Co-host/Sister/Researcher Sofia, announce that they are now officially cover girls! Just like that, the Areu sisters step out of their comfort zone and get comfortable at a magazine cover photo shoot that took a village and months of planning. They did their "thing" off the runway! (Thanks, RuPaul!) VIP Hair and Makeup Artist Rose Lionetti provides great hair and makeup advice to all while helping the Areu sisters grace the 21st Anniversary issue of CATALINA magazine ... with confidence! Getting in the zone to create a cover-worthy "rock and roll" looked easy thanks to previous CATALINA VIPs, the right soundtrack, ... bombshell pink lipstick and black eyeliner. Ready to Sashay and Shante? Let's "Work it, girl!"

Then, without delay, this dynamic podcasting duo discovers a third "type of people" in the world! A snowman?! The Areu sisters dropped everything to listen and comment on Britney Spears and Sir Elton John's new/classic song "Hold Me Closer." This is the first of many emergency podcasts! When this new pop tune appeared – from Paris Hilton's Instagram story to Actor Fernando Carsa's IG Live – Podcaster/Host Cristina Areu and Sister/Researcher/Co-host Sofia Areu immediately asked: " ... is Britney the tiny dancer?" This "B is for Britney!" musical delight didn't stop the podcasters from using social media responsibly and give proper shoutouts to Elvis Presley fans, "Time Warp" challenger Steve, and to North Shore Animal League ... for saving kitties and puppies! It may be an emergency, but classroom instruments, The Roots, Madonna's hits, and more fun Rocky Horror Picture Show homework are definitely mandatory!
In this podcast special, the Areu sisters — Host Cristina and Co-host/researcher/sister — reveal fun new facts while remembering the King “Elbee Presslee” (Abuelita’s way of saying Elvis Presley). Did we mention that all of this is fun while balancing a stuffed animal on your head and giggling? It’s true! Aloha!
The burning questions about Looney Tunes (Like: is Tweety bird on Twitter?), and more, are answered by the Areu Sisters/Podcasters! Host Cristina Areu and Co-host/Researcher/Sister Sofia Areu also discover the looney things adults say with IG clips from an English-as-a-Second-Language comedian named Tetiana Okyar. Plus: the Areu sisters give shoutouts and thanks to the North Shore Animal League, the Chicago Latino Network, and the great Paul Sorvino with music and more. Then Podcasters Cristina Areu and Co-host/researcher/sister Sofia Areu thank Mariann from Brooklyn and a King … and challenge these VIPs (you!) to a new Taki Taki dance challenge they don’t know! ¡Feliz Cumpleaños, Selena Gomez! It’s a fiesta … ¡Taki Taki!
