Unpacking the thought of Harmut Rosa and bringing Von Balthasar to bear, they seek to understand the contours of “resonance,” in place of the illusion of an engineered reality.

In Fr. Mike's penultimate episode, Frs. John and Mike explore the distinctive anthropological phenomenon of the face - why we look for it and how it constitutes the fundamental experience of human life. Viewed from the lens of Dante's love of Beatrice, the face (or antlitz for Balthasar) expresses not only the fullness of the person, but truly the inner life of God. With an "homage" to Fr. John's mom, this podcast concludes with a glimpse into the Marian heart of the Church.
Fr. Sean and Fr. Jacob discuss the significance of Pentecost finding its roots in the Jewish Feast of Weeks. There were three traditional pilgrimage feasts for the Jewish people and one of them, the Feast of Weeks, which coincided with the barley harvest, took place 50 days after Passover. How does Pentecost fulfill the handing on of the law?
Fr. Mike and Fr. John dive into Isaiah 56:3-7 and talk about a moment where God reveals something unexpected—His own celibacy. They reflect on the significance of this divine self-disclosure and how it opens the door for men to receive the grace to share in God’s celibate love.

where's the music??
I'm so glad they addressed "up your wheelhouse."
Fr John promotes disunity snd seems to be unaware of differing views within the American Catholic Church. The number of seminarians has been declining for decades. Also, thousands of Catholics have returned to the church because of Pope Francis. The arrogance of the young priests on this podcast, especially Fr. John’s arrogance, is stunning. Fr. John needs to be humbled, and I pray that he will be.
Now I know why we don't sing, "City of God" anymore. I liked that song, but I see why it doesn't make sense.

solid! thanks Fr John (even though you'll never see this)
powerful! thank you.
I went and read the introduction to the new edition of Dare We Hope and was very concerned about Bishop Baron sounding like a universalist. Surprised and disappointed.
I have enjoyed the whole journey from the first episode. it's great to hear the honest perspective of those wearing the collar.
This is a great podcast but the first 1/4 was not that fun to listen to.
Marriage is not entirely about raising children, Sex is not primarily about procreation. Both empower the relationship between two people. No wonder the catholic church is dwindling in the west. I'm saying this as a catholic.
What a pleasure to hear Alicia! Come back anytime. :)
For some reason the last 5 minutes of the episode are cut off.
Stumbled upon this podcast looking for new shows to listen to during lent, and wow... Started with a few of the recent episodes on Google podcast and then got curious about the first episodes. Unfortunately Google podcast only goes back to 2014, and I realized after I listened to a few that there had to be more. So now I am listening to it bottom to top. Amazing work from this inspiring priests. Love the banter, the down to earth nature. God bless you!
I believe it's pronounced as though it were spelled, in English, 'zeal-zorger'. Love the show.
