Lauren Beale is a Hudson Valley native through and through. Born and raised in Hyde Park, she spends a lot of her time exploring the Valley but also frequently travels throughout the country and around the world. In addition to adventure, Lauren is passionate about supporting the people in her community, working for Hudson Valley Community Services, a local nonprofit that assists people struggling with chronic health conditions. She has been very involved in spiritual ministry in the Hudson Valley, and is currently is a worship leader and Bible study leader at Reach Out Church in Hyde Park. When she’s not playing music for church, Lauren loves relaxing at her piano and writing new songs; she also enjoys dabbling in photography. In a nutshell: Adventure is Lauren's middle name. People are her passion. Faith is her driving force. Music is her obsession. And she can seldom be found without a cozy beverage (be it coffee, tea, or wine) by her side. Nicole Porter grew up in the foothills of the Adirondacks surrounded by a large extended family. After high school she followed her older brother to RIT, where she earned her BS in applied math. Nicole met her future sister-in-law during grad school at U of R and remained in Rochester for four years, working for a biotech company as a data manager. Getting married in 2015 led her to relocate to Greenville, NY where she works remotely for the same company. Her hobbies include running, playing games, and hiking with her husband and dog. Natalie Wise is a Dartmouth-educated poet, author, and lifestyle philosopher. She thrives on sharing her curated modern-vintage aesthetic through her multi-faceted work. Wise has four published books to her credit: Happy Pretty Messy: Cultivating Beauty and Bravery When Life Gets Tough, Gifts in Jars, The Modern Organic Home, and The Self-Discipline Handbook. Her poetry has been featured in the New Yorker, as well as numerous other magazines and books. She is all about pink lipstick, big sunglasses, her trademark #caffeinecrazy when she drinks coffee, and creating happy things for happy people. When she is not writing, Wise enjoys baking and exploring upstate New York with her husband and their chocolate lab. Francis X. Driscoll is an award-winning nature photographer whose work has appeared in many publications, including National Geographic Explorer and Cynthia Dantzic’s art book "100 New York Photographers". He grew up in the Bronx, where he experimented with photography as teenager, and he eventually went on to travel the country, settling in California and working in the film industry. When he returned to the East Coast, he found his way to the Catskill Mountains, and it was there he discovered his talent and took up photography on a regular basis. Over the years he has captured some of the most iconic images of the Great Northern Catskills. Francis shares his craft with others by leading hikes, conducting workshops and giving private instruction. His book "Images of the Northern Catskills" is a celebration of his work.

Matthew Patane grew up in the Poughkeepsie area and moved to NYC in his early 20s to pursue a career in acting, returning home a few years later when his mother was diagnosed with cancer. During that time, he joined the Castaway Players and began performing with them. Matt also toured the country with his best friend, Frank McGinnis, a musician from Dutchess County. When Matt’s mother passed away, he moved back to New York City in order to continue performing; however, he became disillusioned with the theater industry, and returned home again in order to figure out the next chapter of his life. He currently works at the Crafted Kup in Poughkeepsie and is deliberating a potential return to school in the fall.
Bryanna Laveroni is 58 years old and was born and raised in the Catskill Mountains. She has been married for 35 years and has two daughters, with a granddaughter due in April. Bryanna was a physical education teacher for over 30 years and recently retired. She loves all outdoor activities and most recently has been long-distance hiking on the Appalachian Trail. When not hiking or biking, she and her husband love cruising around on their motorcycles.
Jay Laveroni was a teacher for 30 years in the Windham-Ashland-Jewett Central School District. He retired in 2016 and is currently thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine. Jay is employed part-time at Windham Mountain as a Supervisor in the Children's Learning Center. He has two grown daughters, Caitlin and Kersten.
Perry Gardianos, D.C. was born in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, in 1967 but grew up in Westtown, NY. He graduated from Minisink Valley High School in 1985 and went straight to college in pursuit of becoming a chiropractor. In a six-year span, Perry attended Orange County Comm. College in Middletown, NY, then went on to the Univ. of Bridgeport, CT. From there he attended SUNY-Buffalo, then spent three years studying at the National Univ. of Health Sciences in Lumbard, IL. Finally, he was ready to practice. Perry opened his first chiropractic office in Middletown, NY in 1994. He also worked on NYC's Upper West Side from 1995-96. In 1997, Perry purchased his current home and set about renovating it over the course of two years. Once completed, Perry opened his new practice and has been there ever since – much to the delight of the residents of Middletown and surrounding areas.
Chris Bub grew up in Delmar, NY as one of five kids from parents that are both one of five. Throughout high school and college, he worked for his father’s electrical contracting business, LeGallez Electric. He attended college at SUNY Brockport, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. Originally, he planned to take over his father’s business, but decided that he should explore his options utilizing the degree he just earned. Soon after college, he moved to NYC to live in a small shoe box while he worked as a fund accountant for the Bank of New York. After passing the first level of the Chartered Financial Analysis Institute and taking a two-month trip around the U.S., he accepted a position at Manning & Napier, a national financial management firm based out of Rochester, NY. He spent six years with Manning and Napier, assisting on their separately managed accounts and bond portfolios. In October of 2016, he moved back to Albany, NY to re-unite with a long-term girlfriend and to be closer to the Adirondacks and Catskills. Currently, he works as a credit analyst for the Bank of Greene County. He enjoy activities such as hiking, playing hockey, snowboarding, fishing, and golf. His passions include economics, mentoring, and thinking about the world.
David Peskin was born, raised, and lived in New York City for 55 years. During that time - in his own words - David did what was expected of him without joy: jobs, marriages, and vacations. He has a son, David. It is only since he moved to the Catskill Mountains that David feels that life has truly begun for him. Presently, he is Assistant Director and Docent at the Catskill Mountain Foundation Piano Performance Museum. Surrounded by the beauty that the Catskill Mountains have to offer, David is pleased to be able to maintain his mind and body's spirit.
