Through life, in any situation, in all struggles and at every opportunity... All you can do is be yourself; unapologetically (in every sense of the word). Reason being? your heart will never steer you in the wrong direction and recognising that is a superpower. More importantly; it’s YOUR superpower, and nobody can take it away from you.
Back in the day; when things were cool? (all we needed was pa pa pa pa pa para). If you were worried about where; I been? or who I saw? Or what club I went to? with my homies... baby don’t worry (you know that you got me).
Finally, some good news dropped in my lap which has set a course for the future and I think it’s looking pretty bright, I’m not going to say I hope it sticks around, I’m just going to admit I’m glad it’s here and I’m also happy to be out of the rut (for now). It’s all good baby babeh...
Today was a really good day and so with all the madness that’s been happening through the year I think it’s very important to try and remember all the good that passes by as well, because at the end of the day it’s the little things that count the most. Right?
The rhythm of my heart is beating like a drum, with the words “I love you” rolling off my tongue... never will I roam; though I know my place is home; where the ocean hits the sky? (I’ll be sailing).
We often spend our lives believing that the grass is greener on the other side and we convince ourselves we’ll jump over the fence when we’re ready... well I’m tired of waiting to be ready. It’s all about now, so here’s a breath of fresh air.
I sat down with an old friend of mine (Deano William) and asked him about the challenges he faced, moving to a new city; leaving a life behind and starting a new journey following fatherhood and career unexpected changes.
As you trod along this life you realise that the concept of race, religion and class is all in the shared imagination of a few ignorant individuals who use it to divide... above all else, the most important thing is to come as you are, because everybody else is taken.
A lot of people talk the talk about paying the cost to be the boss... but the question still remains; do you have the patience? The know-how? The discipline? The persistence? And the emotional maturity to consistently walk the walk?
In times of disparity, uncertainty, depression? (And maybe a slight sense of regret in how one decides to live his/her life) who do you confide in? Who do you tell? Where do you look for comfort?
People say the early bird gets the worm, but I can’t help but wonder if that’s because the bird wants the worm?... or if it is infact because the bird has to keep busy to stop himself from breaking down.
In these challenging times of quarantine and lockdown it’s hard to imagine what the future looks like and that can start to make one feel a little anxious and stressed; still... a little anxiety never hurt anyone. Right?
The introduction of a podcast that I inherently started to try and build a career out of.
DISCLAIMER: I have absolutely no idea what I am doing, most of the time I just call someone, ask them to meet me, and then we turn on the microphone and have a conversation...
