Why is it that the ideas and values of the previous generation are always mocked by the next generation? Why even legends who inspired the whole world, could not inspire their immediate kith and kin at times? What gives rise to this conflict and disharmony? “Most of us complicate the roles of our life, because we focus on our secondary role, forgetting what our primary responsibility is”, says Mahatria. Within your family, what is your primary role? A father or a mother or an elder sibling, isn’t it? Pushing the primary role to the back seat, we tend to philosophize… Mahatria throws the spotlight on the issue and gives a solution in this podcast.
Whatever be the addiction, it simply means that 'it' is in control of your life and you have become a slave to 'it'. Addicted to social media robs you of your precious time and in most cases, leads you towards unhappiness and disaster. When addicted to social media, you will not have the time for what is important to you, like urgent professional needs and being with even close relationships.Mahatria emphasizes in this podcast that the only way to get rid of Social Media addiction is by simply staying away from it. You will have to drop anything that is robbing your time and disturbing your peace.
Mahatria says that if you want to improve your life slightly, continue with what you have been doing, but if you wish for a transformative change, meditation is the way to go. He urges you to realize the power of silence. When you meditate, you drop your entire form and merge into the formless, and when you do so, some part of the mortal is removed, and divine is added. Through this podcast, Mahatria encourages you to find out what form of meditation suits your personality because it will bring about a revolutionary change!
Mahatria encourages everyone to look up to growth rather than looking down with self-pity. He urges you to focus on improving your life rather than focusing on negativity and complaints. He says that in any aspect of life, either you can be a beggar or a giver. Why choose to be a beggar when you can live to give? Mahatria points out that 'The spark has to come from within'. He asks you to understand that you are significant and can be a source of happiness. He says that the best way to live life is with the motto, 'Nothing should make you happy, but everything should make you happy.'
Why do we need to train our minds through meditation? In this podcast, Mahatria says that the man's mind is the man. Unless we transform the mind, we can't transform the man. He elaborates that human bodies are designed to localize themselves, but the mind is designed to wander. You need to train your mind because an untrained mind makes you a vagabond. Only with a trained mind, you begin to know yourself and make more mature choices. The training that we give to achieve a concentrated mind is meditation. There are many ways to calm your mind and focus. When you perform an action that makes you oblivious of everything else while being consciously engaged, it is called meditation.
Mahatria illustrates how transient one's life is, by highlighting the grand scheme of life. He further emphasizes that even though your life may seem trivial, it is actually not so. You were created with care by the creator. The creator has neither created one like you before nor after your creation. He says that you are an instrument of God, and there are puzzles in life that only you can solve and change. Through this podcast, he encourages you to celebrate life and your unique beauty!
Mahatria says that religion is the highest form of science! The rituals, which one perceives as a superstition, professed by every religion have the highest integration of psychological reality into the daily life of a follower of that religion. Mahatria explains in this podcast that rituals are a form of the action-feeling cycle. We can't alter what we feel at will, but we have more control over our actions. And rituals are the actions that transform our feeling-domain through certain spiritual disciplines.
Mahatria says whether it's doing business or working, a career is one place where we should recognise that passion, energy, and enthusiasm are needed at all times. He also adds that the perfect career is where your hobby and your profession are the same!
When you decide to do something because someone else has asked you to do something, it's difficult to be consistent. Mahatria explains that when you start to do something with your own interest and willingness, then be it leaving a bad habit or incorporating a new habit, it becomes very easy to become consistent in it.
The only person who can help you move on from your past is yourself and nobody else. If you want to end the suffering, you need to end it yourself. Mahatria says that your past only exists in your mind, so to move on, you need to step aside and make an effort to move on.
Mahatria logically explains that children don't follow what you repeatedly tell them, but they tend to follow what they see elders implementing. Hence, if you want to see a change in your children, you must first implement it yourself!
