We then discuss the hindrances we face in moving toward that objective during this life.
Resist temptation, for God is with you. Temptations to sin are all around us in this world. And the servant of God will face those temptations day in and day out. The wise servant will prepare to stand and take precautions against the temptations that come their way. Joseph’s example gives us a pattern to follow when resisting temptation in our own lives.
God and His gracious promises of salvation are with you. Joseph faced trials and troubles that seemed to lead to overwhelming disaster. But the Lord was in control, had promised deliverance, and would oversee the trouble and the resulting salvation. God’s promises of salvation to His people provide hope and courage to face the troubles of life.
We are important parts of Jesus’ continued story and mission. Jesus continues to seek and save those who are lost. He accomplishes this goal through His Word and the faithful witness of His people. Jesus promised that the gospel would reach the end of the earth, and we are part of the fulfillment of that promise today.
Actively introduce others to Christ. Followers of Christ have the wonderful opportunity of leading others to Him. There are lost and dying people who need to be introduced to Jesus, and believers must intentionally invite them to hear about the Savior. Paul leaves us with an example of such an intentional, clear, and persevering witness.
God is at the center of your story. Believers can live with peace and confidence knowing that the Lord is at work to guide their journey through life. He works out His purposes through every circumstance and situation that He brings His people through.
We must faithfully believe and proclaim God’s faithful Word. In the troubles of life, we are tempted to run to man’s solutions or our own solutions rather than God’s. But God calls us to simple faith, to believe His Word. When we believe and obey God, we experience what God promised. This is a message worth sharing.
God extends grace to the lost around you. God’s common grace falls upon all humankind. But God also extends His grace to the lost world through His people and because of His people. God’s grace will overflow from His people and impact the unbelieving lives around them. This kindness of God is meant to lead the lost to repentance.
God protects His servants (to accomplish His will for the gospel through them). The Lord guides His people through the storms of life. And those storms are filled with His purpose and good plan. Though the troubles of life are difficult, we can trust the Lord’s guidance and shine the light of Christ amid the troubles.
Christ makes His appeal through us. Christ uses His people and their witness to reach the lost with the good news of salvation. The faithful witness will obediently proclaim the message of Christ to those who need to hear. In this message, Paul boldly shares Christ with King Agrippa and calls him to repentance and faith.
You are a living testimony of the Lord’s resurrection. The transformation the gospel makes in a believer’s life demonstrates the reality and power of Christ’s resurrection. Believers magnify the Lord by living a transformed life and by proclaiming the hope of Jesus Christ.
Christ and His resurrection provide the hope this world needs! In a world of brokenness and trouble, we need hope. Not wishful thinking, but sure reliable hope. We need the hope of Jesus and the salvation He gives. This sermon explores the hope of resurrection through Christ.
Endure suffering as a witness for Christ. Believers must not be surprised when opposition and persecution come against their faith. They can embrace the suffering as an opportunity to let the light of Christ shine through them.
Know the Scriptures. If you want to take your hopeless situation and make your heart burn for the Lord, then get to know the Scriptures. The Bible reveals the beauty and glory of Jesus! After His resurrection, Jesus opened the eyes of His disciples to understand the Scriptures concerning Himself. We have the same Scriptures and Savior to know and proclaim today.
All have an opportunity to believe. The Lord is gracious to all, and His mercy and kindness are meant to lead sinners to repentance. While some may be curious or have extensive knowledge of the truth, it is only faith in Christ that saves. This message examines Felix’s unbelief and calls the lost to Christ.
Represent Jesus in word and character. Followers of Christ will face opposition and false accusations from the wicked world. While suffering is part of the Christian walk, so is representing Christ. Living a life of godly integrity amid suffering allows the gospel to shine brightly from a believer’s life.
The Lord protects His people. As we serve the Lord, we need not fear what man can do to us. The Lord knows all the plots of the wicked, and He fights for His people. This passage showcases the Lord’s protective hand upon His servants.
