Women telling powerful and wide-ranging stories, including the counter-cultural paean to young men that is Helen Garner's latest. Starting a story and not knowing how it's going to end? Nothing more dangerous, nothing more exhilarating, especially in the hands of a skilled craftswoman. Tis the Season! Yule not be disappointed by this lineup; Naomi Klein, Pamela RAAAABE, Steph Tisdell and Virginia Trioli. Okay we'll see ourselves out.  Listen now on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In the ultimate grift, Crabb and Sales hit London's Royal College Of Music and conjure the High Priestess herself - MARINA HYDE!!!! - in honour of Chat 10 Looks 3's tenth birthday. Ms Hyde, who somehow remains fresh as a daisy after the British election, submits graciously to the birthday pair's fervent genuflection and nervous self-abasement, in particular Leigh Sales' extended soliloquy about moors, and what makes them different from, for instance, heaths. Then she moves on to Jeremy Clarkson. How is this show still alive? Yes, we're all wondering. Another arts festival, another chance for Sales to go on a crazy solo adventure without asking her friends first if it's a good idea.  Crabb meanwhile has been rubbing shoulders with literary god and Chat 10 darling Ann Patchett. Crabb shows Sales an extraordinary dance routine by Hollywood A-lister Tom Holland (and later is crushed by her teenage daughter acidly informing her that everyone in the world saw that video seven years ago when it first came out). Who cares, because Leigh Sales is touring with the Australian Chamber Orchestra, and Crabb is interviewing Ann Patchett for the Sydney Writers' Festival, so suck on that, kids. I could not re-watch Cosby Show or Hey Dad and enjoy it knowing what we know about the lead actors.

Great podcast, but the volume is exceptionally low on this episode, so I can't listen to it on my phone with earbuds as I walk to the shops which is how I usually listen to it.

i love you podcast and consider you both kind of absent friends I peak in on every now and then. I so appreciate you sharing how your friendship works. This was the best Ep i have listened to, so good I have gone back to it twice. it is the one I recommend to as many friends as possible. it some how riffs on every different dynamic in most of my relationships with friends and while the subject matter may be sometimes dark you are both funny in such a beautiful understanding way. Thank you for all you both do. Bianca
