Description
Chatting with Charlie is a podcast where I chat about controversial and stigmatised topics as well as critically analyse things that affect our every day life, such as diet culture. The episodes will be a mixture of interviews, me just chatting and me analysing scientific studies. I will always provide sources in the google docs document if I refer to studies or claim facts.

Living with a rare disease means having to face doctors who don’t believe you, regardless of the evidence of suffering , partners who become carers- gradually or suddenly, and the world’s obsession with labels. In this episode I talk about the importance but also -coexisting- unimportance of diagnoses, the role of mental health in chronic illness, and what it means to exist outside the “being- and having to be inspirational” narrative.Covering:1. A brief introduction2. The Online Debate: Who’s “Disabled Enough”?3. Living the In-Between. Looking to well to be disabled but to disabled to be well.4. Medicine & Misbelief, struggles with rare diseases — lack of cure or treatment.5. Personal & Social Dynamics: How relationships shift: partners becoming carers.6. Rethinking Narratives: Why “inspirational” framing flattens lived experience.

In this episode I talk about Self harm. I explain what it is and what it is not. I give tipps for parents, sufferers and loved ones. They are based off psychological knowledge as well as experience and interviews with those affected but are not legal or medical advice and can never substitute a professional.
My aim is to destigmatize and help those understand who are desperate to know why someone they love is hurting themselves. I also want sufferers to feel heard and be less afraid to speak out.
Please see this as a TW for self harm in general, I specifically don't talk about any concrete behaviours or graphic details nor do I tell upsetting stories here. The tone is educational but compassionate.

What is this podcast about? A trailer as wonderfully chaotic as the thoughts in my head.
Can we dope with the power of our mind? The placebo effect and doping. I take a look at some studies and inspect if we can dope by using the placebo effect. I explain what the placebo effect is and how it's used and we look at what my celebrity crush has to do with all this. Sources and socials:
