After a brief hiatus we are back in time for summer. My fellow San Diego native Bradley Klahn and I met up in Santa Monica to talk about his career, his "why", responding to adversity, technology in tennis, and so much more.
The season is young and more fresh faces are making moves on tour. After hosting all week in Dallas, Blair Henley stops by to talk about the Dallas Open, her career in tennis media, her playing career at Rice, and more.

2023 is upon us and a new year brings new faces onto the scene, familiar ones trying to guard their turn, and a whole host of possibilities for everyone on tour. Aus Open usually gives us an idea of who did the work in the offseason as well as who is ready for prime time. Former Major League Baseball All-Star and current LA Dodgers pitching coach Mark Prior stops by to talk about his background in tennis, what he has learned both from his experience as one of the best pitchers in baseball and from observing elite performers in his role as a coach, how Spring Training is similar to the beginning of tennis season, and more.
SQ stops by to talk about his life on tour, how sometimes you need to skip food and your cool down and go see Taylor Swift, and how he plans to disrupt the pickle ball world.
Talking Asia, being in Japan with North Korea shooting missiles overhead, the massive womens event in San Diego right now and my places to go while you're there, and a great chat with Chris Eubanks. We chop it up talking challengers, why its so hard to win at this level, the nuances of conditions week to week, his routines on the road, and more.
Its US Open time and we are in NYC! Covering places I like to eat, first week storylines, and under the radar stuff like qualifying and juniors to keep an eye on. We are in Cincinnati this week for the Masters 1000 event. Eric Butorac joins Check the Marc as we do it live from the Players Lounge. Barry Buss stops by to talk about his new book "You Can Get There From Here" - his life story from the early days of his junior tennis career, navigating undiagnosed bipolar disorder, dealing with addiction, and everything in between. We discuss the pressure cooker of junior tennis, what he has learned about himself, and the reception his book has received, as well as some exciting things on the horizon for him.
The US Open Series is underway with the men in Atlanta and we go over the conditions at the John Isner Open. Also go over a couple young Americans making moves under the radar. Then Genie Bouchard stops by to give an update on her comeback from shoulder surgery, the 2nd Annual Pizza w/Genie in NYC, the ESPYS, Title Ix, and more!
Marc wraps up the second week results at Wimbledon and then Laura Robson stops by to talk Wimbledon, what its like with all eyes on you playing at home, doing TV now, paddle vs pickle, the Wimbledon locker rooms, and more! And we brush up on her US Open trivia!
