Pentecost 5.28.23

Pentecost 5.28.23

2023-05-2829:07

Today we celebrate the baptisms of two of our young people. JP Flood shared special music with us. And we explore the message of Pentecost in today's message.
Have you ever been told to give your anxiety to God? Sometimes it is easier said that done. Today we look at Peter's words and apply this scripture to our lives today.
Today we wrap up our Herstory series with Naomi and celebrating Mother's Day. Did you know that the Mother's Day tradition started with Methodist women?
This week, we take a look at Mary and Martha. This is a familiar story that many of us relate to. What is your role in the body of Christ? Which of the two sisters do you relate to the most? And... there is a special message this week as we learn that our parish will be getting a new pastor this Summer.
Today we continue the "Herstory" sermon series with Miriam. Who is Miriam? Why was she important? Listen today's message to find out!
Herstory: Esther

Herstory: Esther

This week begins a series honoring women of the Bible and in the history of Christianity. The first in this series is Esther. We think about ways that God shows up unexpectedly and how church might look different moving forward.
It is the Second Sunday of Easter. As we come down from the excitement of the Resurrection and Easter celebrations, what do we do now that we feel like we are stuck in the "normal" time of our lives - just waiting for what comes next? 1 Peter gives us a reminder and hope for this ordinary time.
This week, we welcomed Flathead UM Camp directors, Brandon & Carole, to share the wonderful ministry that is done at one of the Mountain Sky Conference United Methodist Camps. We are reminded of the ways that we are all so important to the Body of Christ. * Note: Due to technical issues, the entire message did not record. *
This week, we have a special guest, Tyler Zimmer, from Intermountain Children's Home. We are grateful to support the amazing ministry that they provide and enjoyed Tyler's wonderful message: Childlike Behaviors.
This week, Pastor Julie continues our Lenten journey with Matthew's account of Peter's declaration about Jesus and Jesus foretelling his death and resurrection (Matthew 16:13-19, 21-23). What kind of life are you building? What kind of rock are you?
This is the 2nd Sunday in Lent. Today we hear the familiar story of Jesus walking on water from Matthew 14:22-34. But this Sunday we hear it from a little different perspective: the perspective of Simon Peter and our own experiences of going through terrifying storms. Have you found yourself crying out to the Lord to rescue you lately? Join us for this week's message and hear what the Spirit of God has to say to you this week.
This is the first Sunday in our Lenten Journey.  Today we learn about the call of the fisherman, Simon Peter, and think about the ways that Christ calls us to a deeper faith and spiritual life.  What are the obstacles keeping you from seeking a deeper relationship with Christ?  This week's message encourages us to let those obstacles go and follow Christ during this Lenten season.
Today is Transfiguration Sunday and the last Sunday of our S.A.D. sermon series.  As we hear the Gospel of Matthew's account of what happened up on that mountain the day that Jesus was transfigured before his disciples, I'd invite you to think about the ways that you have seen God's face and heard the voice of God in this world.  Have you been afraid? Today we are reminded that encouragement can be what we need to help up "Get Up and Don't Be Afraid."
Walk This Way 2.12.23

Walk This Way 2.12.23

2023-02-1229:26

This week we think about the ways that we are called to Walk THIS Way with God. How can we make sure that we are walking in the way God desires for us? How can we make sure that we don't stay on that path?
This week, we continue on with our Spiritual Affective Disorder (SAD) sermon series.  Where is God's dwelling place? Where do you find God the most?

This morning's worship service was a little bit different than we had planned. Our guests from Flathead Lake UMCamp were unable to join us in person due to the weather, and they will be rescheduling again soon. We got to go through their slideshow and think about what it means to be the Body of Christ (1 Cor. 12: 12-27).

This week, we continue with week 3 of our S.A.D. sermon series by taking a look at Micah 6:1-8 and what it means to live into the words of that scripture: do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with God.
Today we hear the beautiful words of Psalm 40:1-11 and join together to learn about the spiritual practice of "making a playlist."  This is week two of our sermon series on Spiritual Affective Disorder.
