Reverse
Hendrik talks with Czeth about supply lists, and starts to form a plan on how to get more food for the Sunborn of Yomank.
Lumi edits her first report back to her Quini Torpie after it's highly unusual return to her with corrections. In any event, lumi decides to keep a copy of all her future, original, reports.
In the shifting political climate, Linlee's grandparents take the too-common step of evicting their sunborn and mixed-blood tenants: Linlee and her family. Hendrik and Pentrui bring them to the M'nagar house, certain that Acome will find a place for Linlee and her family to stay.
Head Archivist Luana escorts Lumi through the University Archives to the Archives proper, where the oldest books, and those most in need of repair, are taken. On the way down Lumi meets T'neece, the lift operator, and learns of the improvements she made to the lift based on engineering principles she learned while reading books from the Archive.
Hendrik relates parts of a speech he heard while at the docks. Afterward, his father goes to check up on a friend's child who had been roughed up as a result, and Acome talks to her son about how Kini Ki Ana is, and how the Talavi Kini are, different.
Lumi Lightbringer walks around Panimalamata during her Discernment, her pre-Quini Canituvu ceremony stroll. Eventually, she ends up at the Council Hall where her mother, father, and Uncle Ueumi Moloki await.
Linlee and Pentrui shared a stolen bottle of wine with Hendrik. As the bottle is drunk, Linlee shares how the Church of Koplo's policies, as put into action by The Hand, have broken apart her family.
Winkit interacts with Hand Koapah, who conveys a message about the Church of Koplo's plans to help the dockworkers and sailors of Amarukovski. Winkit, after Hendrik and Acome join him, has misgivings about the Hand's intentions.
As Ueumi Moloki heads out from Yomank, Hendrik and his parents head over to The Minnows Respite to see what the Hand of the Voice-Servant is doing.
As Ueumi Moloki is leaving the Amarukovski port city of Yomank, the Hand of the Voice-Servant of Koplo arrives to personally hand out aide to the poor and disaffected dock workers housed at The Minnows Respite.
Hendrik, Linlee, and Pentrui arrive back at the M'Nagar house with a wagon overflowing with candied nuts. Moloki and Acome are chatting in Talavi Kini as they wait. Pentrui asks to end his Search, and Winkit returns for supper.
Hendrik heads out with his friend Linlee to get their other friend, Pentrui, so they can talk to Ueumi Moloki about their Search. On the way, Linlee asks Hendrik when he will tell his parents about the relationship Linlee, Hendrik, and Pentrui share.
Ueumi Moloki, fresh off the sea, talks for a while with Winkit and Hendrik before having Hendrik lead him back to the M'Nagar house. Moloki does his best to speak Amarik and has Hendrik practice his Talavi Kini a bit.
Hendrik helps his dad get a better deal on a load of crab, and Winkit points out that Amarik people aren't all very enlightened when it comes to "Sunborn" like Hendrik.
Hendrik wakes and prepares for a day of work at his father's, Winkit's, waterside warehouse. His mother, Acome, checks in with him as he eats breakfast.
Preface for my book, Phonikinetics. This is the third book I am recording for podcasting. In Phonikinetcis we follow Lumi of Kini Ki Ana and Hendrik of Amarukovski as they go through their own personal trials. One day, a bollide falls and strikes their world. Afterwards, they find they can bend sound to their will. Some, as in Kini Ki Ana, find the utility of this ability. Some, as in Amarukovski, see it as a portent from their gods. For Lumi and Hendrik, it simply marks the start of new chapters in their lives.
