What would you say is the most important quality of a good marriage? Is it love, trust, or sacrifice? While all those aspects are important, there’s one crucial element spouses often forget: honor. The story of David and Michal serves as a poignant illustration of how a marriage can transition from passionate love to bitter resentment when honor is lost. Listen in as we learn from their story and discover how our own marriages can deteriorate from this same threat.
Throughout the Bible, we see that God desires for people to experience His presence, but how can sinful humans enter into the presence of a holy God? A sobering story that illustrates this very problem is found in 2 Samuel: As the procession carrying the Ark of the Covenant makes its way to Jerusalem, God's anger is kindled towards a man named Uzzah. Why does God’s punishment seem so harsh, and what does it say about His nature? We invite you to listen in as we delve into this story and discover why only Jesus can bridge the gap between us and the Father.
After almost a decade of hiding in fear, relentless attacks, and narrow escapes of assassination, David learns that King Saul is dead. The very man who sought to destroy him is gone, but rather than be filled with joy, David is filled with grief. Rather than rush to assume the crown, David waits on the Lord and trusts in His sovereign plan. What does this teach us about our own lives today? We invite you to listen in as we dive back into the epic story of David.
If you’re a believer in Christ, the Bible says you were chosen, then made alive, justified, adopted, and are being sanctified… but there’s one step God hasn’t yet brought to pass. The topic of glorification can seem like a distant, far-removed concept from our everyday lives. In reality, it’s the culmination of your entire walk with Jesus. What will our glorified bodies look like? When will we get them? Listen in as we explore these questions and more in the finale of How Did I Get Saved?
Have you ever felt lost on your spiritual journey, desperately trying to decipher God's will for your life? We’ve all been there. Even though it may not seem like it at times, God's will remains constant, regardless of our circumstances. What is that will? That we would be more like Him. Listen in as we dive into the fifth doctrine of salvation, the process of sanctification.
Why does the Bible say that we were once “enemies” of God? If God loves the world, how can the world also be in enmity with Him? What does that mean for Christians, who are called “children” of God? Join us as we explore the doctrine of adoption and how salvation transforms us into a part of the Father’s family.
How can we really be sure we’re going to Heaven when we die? From Buddhism to Islam to New Age practices, every religion has their own form of earning salvation or rewards in the afterlife. So, what does the Bible say? How can we know that we’ve checked all the boxes to obtain eternal life? Listen in as we learn about the doctrine of justification and how there’s only one way to truly be saved.
What does it mean to be ‘born again?’ How can one be spiritually dead but physically alive? How exactly does it all work? The topic of regeneration can send us down a never-ending spiral of questions. Although there are truths we’ll never understand, God’s Word is clear about the things we can comprehend, and it all starts with the Holy Spirit. Join us as we uncover the doctrine of regeneration and why it’s crucial for our salvation.
It’s one of the most controversial theological questions—did God choose us or did we choose Him? The debate of predestination versus free will has plagued the Church for centuries, even dividing Christians into different denominations. So, which side is right? Is there even a right side? Join us as we tackle this hot topic and learn why it really matters.
Think of the most challenging thing you’ve ever been through. Was it easy to turn to the Lord? What about the good times in life? How often do you rely on God during those moments? No matter what your walk looks like right now, there’s only one place where true strength comes from. Join us as we complete our series in the life of David and learn a critical lesson from the way he responded to adversity.
It may come as a surprise, but there’s a moment in the Bible where King Saul summons the prophet Samuel from the dead, and he actually appears. In Saul’s desperation for answers, he sins against God and ultimately pays the price for it. Have you ever felt frustrated that God wasn’t running on your timeline, causing you to stumble in your faith? Listen in as we learn from this haunting story on how to avoid making Saul’s same mistake.
Have you ever taken a wrong turn and ended up at a completely different location than you planned? In a broader sense, have you ever felt like you’ve gone down the wrong path and deviated from God’s plan? During the hard moments of life, it can be easy to wonder if God has abandoned us, leading us into a spiral of sin. Listen in as we learn from the life of David how we can be absolutely sure that God has ordained our steps.

How can a small, unassuming shepherd boy be anointed king over a nation? God only knows. The story of David’s life proves exactly that, and it shows us this truth: while we may care about the outward appearances of others, God looks at our hearts. Only He knows who we truly are deep down and only He knows who He has chosen for His Kingdom.
Have you ever experienced fear so intense it consumed your every thought? Perhaps it was the fear of losing a loved one, facing financial ruin, or confronting a life-altering diagnosis. Fear has a unique ability to take full control of who we are, often leading us down paths we never intended to go. Listen in us as we learn from the life of David how God wants us to respond in our moments of fear.
Christian: are you truly experiencing God, or just going through religious motions? Sometimes we can focus on things that look and feel like God, but are not really what He wants for us. As we continue our study in the life of David, we’ll learn how to know God’s heart and truly experience a relationship with Him.
Who would you say is your closest friend? How long have you been friends with that person? Would you say that person is a true friend who leads you to Christ? Whether your inner circle is big or small, we all were made to be in biblical community. Listen in as we explore how to both find true friends in the world, and be real, Christ-like friends ourselves.

“You’ve got this. Just trust yourself.” Sounds empowering, right? But it’s a lie wrapped in pride. The truth is, when we lean on our own strength and reject God’s way, we set ourselves up for a fall. Pride always leads to destruction. In this next part of Rise and Fall, we’ll look at the contrast between Saul and Jonathan—one ruled by pride, the other marked by humility.
