We must recognize that there are many misconceptions about this subject. I can say,however,that one thing is sure. It is that many people see the evangelical interpretations to be partial at best. I can also say that the hope of the Christian is not "physical death",but rather,Resurrection. These presumptive notions of heaven,hell,immortal soul,etc. are just that presumptive speculation and simply a repetition of what many evangelical "teachers" have repeated from what earlier scholars have taught. As far as the bias against Gnostic Christians,I would say that these are based upon completely misunderstood conclusions. Evangelical Christians ,I would say, find it difficult to see past it's own limited notions ,especially concerning the enlightenment which come from other points of view. Evangelical fundamentalism has its own parameters. what surprised me,is that it tends to shun any and all other points of view.....even to the point of out right the inner tradition of the faith,(s
