While doctrine informs how we live out our relationship with God, it is only part of the dance with the Divine. Controversial topic today. This stems out of many years of exposure to Christian music and an observation that much of it is lame and cheesy. Note I didn't say all. But I've noticed that the songs and groups that are largely known by us lack something, especially musically, that those who aren't in the Christian branding tend to have a better grasp of that. If we're going to share the gospel through music, shouldn't it be good? Shouldn't we have the capacity to set the trend and not follow the trend? I'd like to continue this discussion about what Christianity is. So today I'll do a little comparison on some attributes of what a real life Christian is and compare it against things that seem to show up in our lives. Sure, we're growing past these things, or God hasn't delivered me from it, or God "didn't tell me that's for me" are things that might come to mind. I'm gonna push back on some of the things we, as a people, can get caught living in, that really are not part of our new DNA make up as a people who has been touched by the Almighty.
