Arts Report comes to you on a Thursday morning for a special fill in featuring all PuSH Festival content! Zoie and Izzy interviewed the people behind the show Lotano+Istante. They also speak with Tom Arthur Davis, the interim Director of Programming for PuSH. Plus Ruby lists the shows playing during the last few days of the festival!
On today’s show Kimara and Phoebe joined Ruby to talk about some recent shows they saw. Kimara was entertained by Little Willy at the Cultch and Phoebe was touched by Leaving and Waving at the Polygon. The first episode of 2023! Ruby interviewed Ingrid Hansen, who is one third of the comedy troupe The Merkin Sisters. The Merkin Sister’s new musical comedy album is out now! Lua interviewed Joshua Beamish of MOVETHECOMPANY whose dance show, Source Amnesia, premiered in Vancouver on January 13th. Then we wrap up with some exciting upcoming events happening in the city.

Today's show features two interviews, a review and some songs to change it up! We heard from Jacob Baldwin about the Eh! Comedy Festival for one of the interviews. Next up was with UBC Alum Daniel Curalli who is currently playing Shakespeare in Theatre Under The Stars' "Something Rotten!", he also will be understudying Farren Timoteo as Francesco Mantini in The Arts Club's "Made in Italy" which will overlap with his run on Something Rotten!. We learned if it really is hard to be the bard and what it's like to prepare for two shows at once! Our review of the day was Winter Guests' "Story, Story, Die" hosted by DanceHouse at the Vancouver Playhouse.

We started off today with an in-studio interview with Brandon Yan about the Queer Film Festival which was followed by an interview with Nicole Spinola that Dave Campbell from Eclectic Lunch (Fridays 12 pm!) did about Campcue, a theatre camp! Thank you to Dave for sharing this interview with us! We played Lua's review of White Girls in Moccasins which was recorded at the airport so excuse the background noise but hey, content creation never stops. Finally we talked to Danny Malena who plays Galileo in Theatre Under The Stars' "We Will Rock You".

Today's episode is filled with interviews! We kicked off with one with Anthony Lee, who told us more about Selfie which is being presented fully online. (Fun fact, this interviewed was shared on our soundcloud ahead of time so go check out our account to get interviews and reviews ahead of time!) Afterwards we had our only review of the week, Polygon Gallery's new exhibition called Ghosts of The Machine. Next up was our interview with Chris Lam followed by our last interview of the week, with Cameron Mackenzie.

Today's episode was kicked off with a review of the new exhibition at MOA, Xicanx: Dreamers/Soñadores + Changemakers/Creadores del cambio. We followed it with a shout-out to NFB and the seven shorts that celebrate the 2022 Governor General’s Performing Arts Awards (GGPAA) laureates. Afterwards we had our review of Chor Leoni's A Sound Like This and and interview with resident curator Kayleigh Sandomirsky about rEvolver Festival 2022. We finished off the show talking about Capture Photo Festival!

Today's episode had a little bit of everything: gallery, theatre, dance. We started off with an interview with Greta de León, co-curator of the new exhibition at MOA, Xicanx: Dreamers + Changemakers / Xicanx: Soñadores + Creadores del Cambio. After the interview we had a review of The Invisible by The Cultch, 'a musical that people who don't like musicals will like' and LA's BODYTRAFFIC's performance hosted by DanceHouse.
We started today with a shout-out to Bad Parent which now has been moved to the 2022/23 season so keep an eye out! We then had an interview with Theland Kicknosway about the Coastal Dance Festival. After the interview, we did a couple reviews, first one being that of White Noise. After White Noise we covered the movie Edge of the Knife and finally, How the World Began.

We kicked off today's episode with a live interview! We haven't had one of those in years and couldn't be happier to have had 2021/22 Dance West Network Re-Centering/Margins creative residency artist Sophie Dow to talk about their experience in the residency and as a dancer in general! After our interview we had some shout-outs. Shout-out to Same Difference and Himmat by Theatre Conspiracy, CJSW 90.9 FM’s Survivors, Drag at the Improv Centre, Chor Leoni's upcoming concerts and Vancouver Opera’s Opera Classes for adults.

We have so many reviews today! First up was All Bodies Dance which was followed by a quick listen of Mojo Jojo by Turunesh who also performed at Arts Night Out, creating the perfect transition into the review of Arts Night Out at MOA. We then heard a review of Made in Italy by the Arts Club Theatre Company as well as Program B of Six of One: New Play Festival by Studio 58. Finally we talked about Kidd Pivot's Revisor presented by DanceHouse.

Today's episode started off with a review of Beautiful Man which was followed by an interview with Cameron Mackenzie about Zee Zee Theatre's Men Express Their Feelings. We then talked about the new exhibition at The Polygon, Cloud Album which included snippets from the curator led tour!
This episode has it all, dance, theatre, interviews! We started off today's episode with a shout-out to Clean/Espejos, a bilingual play being presented by The Cultch! We then moved on to our reviews and interviews. Ruby talked with Debby Friday and Cecillia with Geoff D'Eon! Our reviews included that of Kim's Convenience by The Arts Club, Albatross which is part of the Vancouver International Dance Festival and Little Red Warrior and His Lawyer by The Cultch.

IT'S FUNDRIVE* STILL!We started off with a shout-out to MOA because throughout Black History Month (February) they are admitting Black and African community members for free! We also shouted-out Farhaven, a local Vancouver band, because they are playing a gig on February 17th at the Koerner's Pub on UBC's campus. You also heard their latest single It's My Life so you get a taste of what their gig will be like! After the shout-outs Serra had her interview with Olivia C. Davies, the artistic director of O. Dela Arts and they talked about Matriarch Uprising. A dance festival happening February 14th to 19th! Our last shout-out of the day was for RE/PLAY, the digital platform of The Cultch on which they have different productions on demand and livestreamed.
