Last week, both the Clark County Commission and the Las Vegas City Council voted on measures to address homelessness in the valley. The Clark County Commission adopted a new public camping ban with a 6-1 vote, while the Las Vegas City Council unanimously voted to strengthen its existing ban. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department will be responsible for enforcing these controversial new ordinances, though leadership emphasizes that their goal is not to arrest their way out of the issue.
