Description

October 27, 2016 I'm a Buckeye Chick on Sports who lives and breathes Ohio State Football. Priorities have changed since 2009. I now love someone and something a infinite times more than Ohio State Football, my daughter Lauren who is 5. I am now Mark Packer's, from ESPNU on Sirius/XM's Off Campus with Mark Packer, "Favorite Teacher in America." I'm the founding member of his Smack Pack of regular callers. I'm the First Ever Undisputed Miss Ohio State (self-proclaimed) and The Most Interesting College Football Fan in the Land (well I'm hoping I get picked for that). But the rest is the same. College football is my all-time favorite sport, so I will spend most of my time on that topic. I saw a quote today: Do something today your future self will thank you for. Well, that's the plan. Join me!
Circa 2009: I'm a BuckeyeChick who lives and breathes Ohio State football. Actually I love everything about sports in general: football, baseball, lacrosse, tennis, basketball, gymnastics, hockey. You name it and I love it. My first grade teacher, Miss Listiak, said that's all I wrote about in my journal. I was what, six years old and already commentating sports? I grew up and went to college in The Columbus, Ohio and now I live on Long Island. I am a second grade teacher and I love the Buckeyes almost more than I love any other person or thing on Earth. I love to talk about them and this is my chance to share it with you. We can say anything - for and against - The Buckeyes and all teams, all things, football. Let's just talk sports. Call in and talk with Claire on the Air! Say what you want...it's all good with me. Claire On Sports is currently on a break until further notice. But I will be back...count on that!

How can I stay away after all the recent college football developments?! The Stanley Cup is back in Chicago. I think there's something going on in the NBA. Did anyone see that kid pitch for Wasthington the other night? Unbelievable. Glad they kept him in so he could get the record. What's up with the orange pop at the Memorial (fill me in Cbus). Guest call-in number: 1 (646) 381-4182 1 (646) 381-4182 tonight from 8-9 p.m.
How the Buckeyes' recruiting class grades out; Super Bowl; Senior Bowl studs
Recruiting updates - NSD is Feb. 3; Pryor's chances for winning Heisman next season; What's one reason SB matchup may not be perfect?; Are you kidding me Tebow moments; Favre and the Vikings - will he be back?; America's Team vs. American Royalty in the SB; Other relevant snippets on sports; Didn't get to say it, but hoping Peyton will be on Saturday Night Live special this weekend (I think it airs Sunday - best moments with athletes or something like that.) That dude is hilarious. Just one more reason to love him.
Which schools have the top college football recruiting classes as signing day approaches (only 2 more weeks); How did this year's bowl season rate -- ratings are better than you might predict; Manning sidesteps questions about Jets' D; What happened to the Chargers last weekend?; Tonights big matchups: LeBron/Kobe and Ovechkin/Crosby...looking ahead to a possible Manning/Favre in the Super Bowl; Evan Turner is "back"; Relief from the kickers necessary!; Manning and Favre -- where do they fit on the all time best QB list? And more....Check it out!

Go on the air with Claire On Sports, Thursday, January 14, 2010. Here's the lineup: This week I am "Fed Up" Claire on Sports. I'm fed up with liars. Anyone who says they are lying to protect others is a double liar. Lying does not protect anyone. That's right. Call me between 7 and 8 p.m. at 646-381-4182 so we can discuss this life issue. It's not just sports on this show. We'll discuss football, recruiting, coaches moving around, steroids and anything else relevant to sports or life itself.
Happy New Year! It's good to be back. Here's some exciting New Year's news: 1051 people have viewed my show's profile on BTR and the show has been listened to 910 times. I've only just begun! I hope you're ready to discuss sports with me again this week. Here are some of the topics I've been thinking a lot about: Which states have the most recruits in ESPNU’s Top 150 High School Football recruits? Besides the obvious: Florida and Texas. It surprised me. Which “Big Ten state” has the most recruits? Where are those recruits going? Let’s break down the top QB recruits. Where are they going? What makes them so great? If there’s time: * Some people are saying this is the worst bowl season ever. What do you think? * Whose got the best recruiting class in college football this year (thus far)? * How much ($) are these bowls worth to the school and coaches? * All undefeated teams are created equally...so they say. * NFL players should be able to take off all the time they need at the end of the season to get ready for the playoffs! Right?! * The Big Unit has retired from baseball after 22 years. How do his numbers in the 90s compare to his numbers in the 2000s? Looking forward to another Big Ten victory tonight in a bowl game...Go Hawkeyes?! Join me Thursday from 7-8 p.m. Oh, I guess we should preview the National Championship game as well. Until then!
New day this week: Wednesday, Dec. 23 from 7-8 pm. The Bowl Games are coming. The Bowl Games are coming. Well, some have already happened but not the "good" ones. Let's talk bowls and NFL playoffs and anything else sports related. Hoping to have Buckeye Lou talk about the Buckeyes practice on Monday, December 21st. Join me. Call-in Number: (646) 381-4182 Email me: claireonsports@gmail.com Come on, come on, do it do it.
An hour's not enough, but it will have to do. Call me Thursday night at (646) 381-4182 between 7:30 and 8:30 pm (usually 7-8, but I have a school commitment this week) or email me comments and questions before the show to claireonsports@gmail.com. Here are some of the hot topics: Big Ten Expansion and Tiger. Hopefully a 90/10 split as I can hardly stand to listen to one more minute about Tiger. But...it is a big topic to some. I had a ton of other stuff: Heisman, Oden, Dylan Favre, Romo, women ultra runners, Gerhart vs. Ingram (hence Heisman), bowl games.... We'll see where we get.
Topics I am preparing for this week's show (not limited to them - still email, FB, call, chat me with any sports-related topic, comment, rant, or rave! •Watch out Brett, Come on down Dylan Favre – can you kick your uncle’s records right out of the books? •Tiger vs. Wilma - Will Elin kick him out? •Hofstra kicked out its football program •Pitt's missed extra point kick blew the game against Cincy •Nebraska's kickoff blew the game against Texas •Hoping to speak with former Ohio State kicker (77-80) Vlade Janakievski - Buckeyes' fifth all time scoring leader – You Tube video of the game – kicking almost cost Michigan the 1980 Big Ten Championship •How does Navy kick the pants off Army this weekend?

This show is dedicated to the loving spirit of Stefanie Spielman, wife of Chris Spielman, and a member of the Ohio State University family. **If you listen to the archived show, there is about 5 min. of dead air in the middle when I was supposed to be playing a pretaped interview. I replayed it later in the show. The interview was with Sybil who is in seventh grade in Dublin, OH. She and the other seventh graders raised over 9,000 in just two weeks for Stefanie's funds. Please fast forward through the five minutes of silence. Sorry about that. Stefanie battled cancer for the last 12 years while raising four children and over 6.5 million dollars for cancer research. The inspiring poem below really embodies her spirit. I AM ONLY ONE, BUT I AM ONE. I CAN'T DO EVERYTHING, BUT I CAN DO SOMETHING. AND THAT I CAN DO, I OUGHT TO DO. AND WHAT I OUGHT TO DO, BY THE GRACE OF GOD I SHALL DO!! This is what it said on a plaque inside The Ohio State Buckeyes locker room. And she did just that. She has touched every life of every person whether you knew her personally, knew of her, or have never even heard her name. I shall be forever grateful to this woman, her spirit, her determination, her giving nature. I would like to dedicate a show this week to Stefanie. Please join me. I will give information for how you can make donations in her memory or to honor the important people in your lives. Please call in and share your thoughts. If you can't call in, then email me a comment at claireonsports@gmail.com. Don't miss this show. If you do, please listen to the archived show when you have a chance. This woman gave countless hours of her life to help every single one of us. Rest in peace Stefanie. Your legacy will live on forever through your spirit and the lives of those you touched, especially your beautiful children and ever-loving husband.

So much to be fired up about this week. Here's the lineup: · Last week I asked the question...Are the punishments being doled out to college football players for flagrant fouls too lenient, too harsh, or just right? This week I'm wondering about athletes at various levels and various sports after the incident with the New Mexico women's soccer player and the ejection of a defensive player from the Chicago Bears on Sunday. · · An update on how this past weekend's at first ever Beat Michigan! Beat Cancer! Race to Cure Ovarian Cancer in Columbus, Ohio · · We will spend some time paying tribute to our country's amazing and inspiring veterans including how the service academies did last week in their football games and how their seasons are shaping up. · · And my favorite part of the show a look back at The Ohio State Buckeyes victory over Penn State last weekend in Happy Valley as well as a look ahead to the Iowa game this weekend. Ohio State goes into this game favored over Iowa who was ranked #4, undefeated, and vying for a BCS bowl berth just less than a week ago. · · We'll take some callers and much more! So, stayed tuned for Claire on Sports this November 12th.
