Our last of the current season before we take a Summer break. Have fun out there and stay safe! :)
We get paid by those buffoons Rich and Paul to host this nonsense so we HAVE to listen... but what's your excuse? More to the point, CCT is now one of the world's top 10 podcasts. How? Why? Anyway, if you want more old car chat, more interviews, jokes, old ads and cool music then you probably don't have many options. Go on...after all, in a few minutes it will all be over and just a horrible memory. Until next week. So let's get it over with. Good luck!
Welcome back! More interviews, more tests, more old ads, more chat... from little Morris 1100s to huge Mercurys it's all here. Of course you have better things to do - but when did ever that stop you listening?
Classic Car Talk. The clue is in the name. So if you don't like classic cars, it's best you leave now. Seriously... GO! What? You're still here? OK, so you only have yourself to blame for what's about to happen... hold tight... here we go!
We certainly don’t want to denigrate our seven remaining listeners. And for CCT listeners, denigrate means ‘put down’ Oops. Only four listeners now. OK,so for Gary in Kidderminster, Spike in Auckland, Elon in CA and Ramesh in Mumbai… this is for you!
Welcome back! This week we're into Bristol cars getting back in business, more on continuation cars, and - just when you thought he could get no worse - Rich discusses all the sprays, greases and polishes on his workshop’s shelves. You have been warned. We talk about egg-bound chickens (honestly!) and Paul recalls buying parts from Malaysia for his Perodua Nippa …yes, he’s the man who bought one… Plus more old ads and music. Enjoy!
Welcome to regular listeners from UK, US, Canada, Australia, NZ & Italy, plus now Denmark, UAE, Greece, India and Kenya. We kick off with a BMW Z4 problem, more on 'continuation classics' and then a look at the Fiat 127. We review a report about how millennials are influencing the collector car market and we pay tribute to the Young Retro Motor Club. Plus more music and old car ads. Other than all that, nothing much this week...
Episode 13 …unlucky for some! Certainly unlucky for you since you’re wasting more of your precious time in the company of two petrolheads, this week ranting on about selling a classic Fiat, music about Pontiacs and Chevrolets, there’s talk about Series Land Rovers and Paul comes up with good reasons to buy a Lada – that shouldn’t take long then!
Oh dear! It's that time of the week again when petrolheads around the world forget our worries and waste a precious hour of our lives listening to all things classically automotive from two blokes old enough to know better... Stand by this week for tales of Fiats, Jaguars and the rare Lynx Eventer. Enjoy!
Rich gets angry about British Leyland, the boys (boys?) discuss the Marina and Ital, & Jaguar XK8More old ads, a rare Jaguar handover video... go on - waste another valuable bit of your precious life on this nonsense!
They're back with this new mini-ep! We took medical advice and agreed that listeners were not fully ready for a massive dose of CCT in one hit - so we've split into small jabs. Don't call us if you suffer side effects after listening...
It’s time to forget your worries and waste a precious hour of your life listening to all things classically automotive from two blokes old enough to know better... Enjoy! Please Note: The CCA sale previewed in this episode will still be taking place on the 28th March. But the sale will now be at the Warwickshire Event Centre CV31 1XN. All the lots will now be auctioned on Saturday 28th March with improved viewing and bidding options, including more absentee bidding alternatives and increased video content for each car. Go to ClassicCarAuctions.co.uk for full details.
Catch the second part of Bernie Fineman’s interview this week as the London mechanic tells us how he suddenly found himself an international TV star! Paul indulges in some Bristol cars reminiscences and (as usual) dreams of buying another Reliant. There’s a busy news round-up and we investigate listeners’ E5/E10 petrol worries. Rich looks at a rare Toyota Sera that’s for sale and then checks out Mathewsons’ auction where buyers can consider a Caddy Coupe de Ville and a Model T against a Vauxhall funeral limo! Subaru Impreza fans may be shocked to discover a rare model – the Three-Sixty - with some outstanding ads from the ‘60s. And before producer Tom cuts us off Paul manages to squeeze in a buyer’s guide to Jaguar’s X300-generation cars and the AJ16 engine. Plus retro music, ancient ads and even older jokes.
Never before in the history of broadcasting have classic car news, old ads, car tunes, auctions, VW sausages, the Kray Twins, Bernie 'Chop Shop' Fineman, the ‘Elvis idle’, Ultimate Dubs, auction previews, Esprits, Scimitars and Reliant Robins all appeared on the same show. Now, there may well be good reasons why no one has ever tried this before, but as always Paul and Rich press on regardless with their own intoxicating mixture of common sense and deranged rants. Discover it for yourself!
The boys are back with up-to-the-minute news and out-of-date archive ads. They celebrate MG designer Don Hayter and Rich gets hot under the collar about ‘continuation classics’. We take an early preview of the H&H classic Duxford sale and are joined by the Two Ronnies who try hard to sell you some BL models. Then the cops get called in – not to have a word with Rich about his driving but so the boys can discuss TV cop cars from The Sweeney’s Fast Fords and Morse’s Jaguar Mk2 to Maigret’s Citroen and Bergerac’s Triumph. And finally the show gets good at last with a buyer’s guide to the fabulous Bentley Turbo R.
Join us again for our usual packed mix of news, laughs, old ads and tunes. We get serious investigating faked classics and we salute the end of the Rolls-Royce/Bentley V8 after a remarkable 60 years. There’s a special offer with Bentley & R-R parts supplier IntroCar.com (quote code CCTP10 for your discount!) Paul meets Tanya Field to find out about the Cowley Convoy, and then back in the studio Rich and Paul are astonished by some obscure modern car ailments. Rich meets Andy Scargill from classic car auction site TheMarket.co.uk and finally the boys lock horns to champion the Rover 2000 against the Triumph 2000. Tune in to discover the winner!
It’s time to forget your worries and waste a precious hour of your life listening to all things classically automotive from two blokes old enough to know better... Enjoy!
