A candid, nostalgic sit-down with Larry Wilcox traces the arc from Marine Corps vet and Beverly Hills acting student to character actor on Lassie and, ultimately, CHiPs' John Baker.   Larry shares how Lassie became a crash course in continuity and stunt work; why CHiPs was his "hardest" role and how he worked with California Highway Patrol advisors to keep the technical details real; and what CHP bike training looked like when he and Eric handled ~90% of the on-camera riding. The conversation turns vulnerable as he recounts Eric Estrada's near-fatal set accident and the leadership, calm, and compassion required in that moment and later, the choice to reconcile. Wilcox also opens up about producing wins and war stories (Ray Bradbury Theater, rights battles) and the new projects he's chasing now. Show highlights Early break on Lassie: four "Lassies," trainer Rud Weatherwax, and a trial by fire in stunts and continuity. Why CHiPs was the hardest role and how he carved depth into John Baker over time. Casting and negotiations that led to CHiPs (and even a near-miss with Miami Vice). CHP technical advisors, realism vs. TV spectacle, and the details of approaching cars, mounting/dismounting, and uniform standards. The raw, human story of Eric Estrada's on-set crash and the life-and-death minutes that followed—and why forgiveness later mattered even more.   You're going to love my conversation with Larry Wilcox IMDB Larry's website Twitter Instagram Cameo Follow Jeff Dwoskin (host): Jeff Dwoskin on Twitter The Jeff Dwoskin Show podcast on Twitter Podcast website Podcast on Instagram Subscribe to my Youtube channel Yes, the show used to be called Live from Detroit: The Jeff Dwoskin Show Ways to support the show: Buy me a coffee (support the show) Dashery/TeePublic Store: Classic Conversations merch and more! Jeff is a great host. Funny, good listener. But how the heck does he know all these amazing people?

I admit I've never been a big fan of podcasts, but this one is actually quite good! Jeff's dry wit and captivating guests make for a primo show. And, I'm not just saying that to score some free Jeff Dwoskin Show swag...but if I did, that would be cool.

What can I say about this podcast that you haven’t heard already? Funny? Irreverent?Poignant? Nostalgic!? How about topical? I guess no one else said all those things, but I’m not reading all 33 other comments to make sure. If you’re looking for a guy who has his finger on the pulse of Furry Culture…uh, this is not the podcast for you. But, if you’re looking for a guy who’s got a podcast; Dwoskin’s your guy. Comedy gold and an interviewing powerhouse: Live from Detroit: It’s The Jeff Dwoskin Show

It’s a superb podcast...funny, informative and never boring. Jeff does a great job of approaching different angles with his guests than may have been over discussed in other formats and interviews

Let me just say, I’m totally digging Jeff’s Poscasts. Not just the content and guests, but the comfortable rapport that flows through the conversation. I find it not just an entertaining listen, but some really informative content about the guests. And what great guests. Jennifer Candy, Art Bell and Ted Neeley (just to mention a few). Admittedly, I can’t wait to get caught up on J Chris Newberg and Burt Ward. Plus bonus content! I mean you can’t beat a nice Social Media tip or some hashtag news. Keep up the great work, Jeff! Looking forward to many great new episodes!!!👍🏻
