The Florida Orchestra closes its broadcast season on WSMR with a dramatic program led by Michael Francis. Featuring Hindemith's Mathis der Maler and Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition. Plus, violinist Stefan Jackiw is the soloist in Korngold’s dazzling Violin Concerto.
The next Tuesday Concert with The Florida Orchestra showcases guest conductor Joseph Young with saxophonist Robert Young in Guillaume Connesson’s A Kind of Trane. Also on the program: John Adams’ Short Ride in a Fast Machine and highlights from Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet.
The next Tuesday Concert with The Florida Orchestra explores the power and mystery of the sea. Chelsea Gallo conducts a program that includes Debussy’s La Mer and a moment from Britten’s Four Sea Interludes, along with Garth Neustadter’s multimedia work Seaborne, featuring The Percussion Collective.
