The Voices of Las Vegas sit down with the Lorax of Las Vegas, a.k.a. Aaron Colletta! He works as a researcher for the MGM Resorts International Public Policy Institute at UNLV. His research interests include regional economic sustainability and the labor impacts from automation. He is currently the lead researcher on the Las Vegas Tree Canopy Equity Initiative which studies the equity gaps in access to environmental public goods and ecological solutions to the urban heat island effect. Additionally, Aaron teaches in the undergrad department for the School of Public Policy and Leadership.  He has taught courses in US Constitution and Governance, Civic Engagement, Urbanization and Demography, and Data Visualization.  Before returning to academics, Aaron spent eight years in the film industry where he worked in story development and commercial production. Aaron holds a B.A. in Cinematic Narrative and a Master’s in Public Administration.  He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Urban Affairs. One of A-Scat & Diggy D's mentors comes through to the studio for an exciting episode of "Clock-In, Clock Out." Benjamin Morse attended Connecticut College from 2000 to 2004 where he graduated with a degree in English. In 2007, Morse joined Marvel Entertainment, where he would spend the next ten years in a variety of roles specializing in digital and new media. Most recently, Morse served as the Editorial Director of New Media at Marvel, where his responsibilities included managing daily content for Marvel.com, hosting and co-producing the This Week in Marvel podcast, and working with Marvel's social media team to market across platforms including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Spring break has landed on the campus of UNLV, and while students may not be on campus, that's not stopping A-Scat and Diggy D from keeping the "Clock-In, Clock Out" grind on schedule. Another voice of Las Vegas sits with the other voices of Las Vegas to discuss his life with music and his East Coast vs. West Coast lifestyles. For the first six years of his life, he was raised in Baltimore, Maryland, but now he resides in Vegas, being his home since 2010. He comes from a long line of music history being the great-nephew to a legendary Persian singer and his father, who is also a composer and professional musician. He is a die-hard Baltimore Ravens fan and looks forward to working with the team. His stardom started at the age of ten being in the top 40 in basketball and he also began singing and performing at the age of three at Persian events and family gatherings. Zelly’s career started through the support of her family, singing and dancing Spanish folk. Zelly Vibes is formerly known as “Itzel Rodriguez.” She has performed at theaters, private parties, elementary schools and restaurants. She has also traveled to different places such as Puerto Rico, Arizona, California, Utah, and other cities here in Nevada like Carson City. Some highlights in her career include her performance in Carson City Governor’s Mansion and winning first place in two singing competitions in LA. In 2016, she transitioned to English music, debuting her new sound in her self-titled project “Zelly Vibes: The Mixtape.” She has booked performances in Vegas, Colorado, California, Arizona, Texas and Florida. With her English music, Zelly hopes to promote self love, compassion for others and female unity.
