11.2.2025 // The Power of The Gospel // Pastor Scott Hinman

Romans 1:16Colossians 2:13–151.  The Gospel has the power to bring life to the dead.“When you were dead in your sins… God made you alive with Christ”.-         Paul begins with our condition.  We are separated from God and spiritually dead.  Sin is not just a bad thing we do, not just an obstacle between God and us, no it is spiritual death. Because of that we don’t just need resuscitation we need resurrection! 2.  The Gospel has the power to forgive all our sins“He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness”Our DebtEvery sin is a spiritual debt — a legal record that stood against us.The “charge” (Greek: cheirographon) refers to a written IOU, a debt we could never repay.b. God’s GraceJesus “canceled” our debt — the term means “to wipe out completely.”How? “He has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.”Every accusation, every shameful act, every failure was placed on Him.3.  The Gospel has the power to triumph over evil“And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross”.a. The Defeat of Darkness“Powers and authorities” refers to demonic forces, spiritual rulers, and systems opposed to God.At the cross, it looked like Jesus was defeated — but in truth, the enemy was disarmed.b. The Victory of the CrossIn Roman times, a victorious general paraded his conquered enemies in public.Paul says Jesus did that spiritually — He turned the cross, an instrument of shame, into a throne of victory.

10.26.2025 // The Generous Life // Pastor Mitch Ribera

1 Timothy 6:6-10, 17-19Let me speak the truth in love right out of the gate this morning.  Or put another way, let me address the “pink elephant” before we even get started.”1. This morning’s message is about Generosity/Giving.  Just giving you a heads up.  The topics of stewardship, giving, and generosity are central in Scripture.   My convicti tv on:   it’s spiritual malpractice for pastors NOT to preach/teach on this topic.  My story…I received “master class” ministry training when I was in my early twenties from an incredibly gifted Pastor/Mentor who loved to help people develop the gift of GIVING.2. Jami and I are lifelong tithers and givers.  So everything I’ll share with you today are spiritual disciplines and habits we have practiced for decades in our lives. Truth be known, it’s a source of tremendous JOY.3.  Stay open to the possibility that God wants you to “put on” a new mindset about Generosity.  Meaning:  Living from an “abundance” mindset is so much greater than a “scarcity” mindset.  I love this wisdom from Proverbs “Give freely and become more wealthy; be stingy and lose everything.  The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.” -Proverbs 11:24-25Background/Context1 & 2 Timothy and Titus are Paul’s Pastoral Epistles (much of what Paul writes about concerns practical matters of church life and organization).Paul wrote this letter from Macedonia around 64 AD during his 4th missionary journey.Timothy was young (30-35), acting as a liaison of Paul and providing Pastoral leadership to the Church at Ephesus (serving w/ Paul 15 yrs.)This was a big assignment for Timothy, an important church with wealthy members.Paul had previously spent 3 years in Ephesus.  This letter is 8 years later…This letter represents the most complete summary in the bible of a Pastor’s Ministry and spiritual qualifications. What we read are the affectionate words of a Father in the faith (Paul) to his beloved son/apprentice/liason/pastor in training.A. Foundation (6:6-10)Perspective: Godliness + Contentment=Great gainThe LOVE of money is a root of all kinds of evil-Disordered love.  Jesus said:  “No one can serve two masters…You cannot serve both God and money.” -Matthew 6:24“Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of possessions.” -Luke 12:15Then Paul gives Timothy a clinic on biblical stewardship:B. Dangers (6:17)1. Arrogance or haughtiness-The challenges of being financially blessed and maintaining a posture of humility.2. Misplaced Hope-If money is your security, then you’ll never have enough.  “Don’t wear yourself out trying to get rich; restrain yourself!  Riches disappear in the blink of an eye; wealth sprouts wings and flies off into the wild blue yonder.” -Prov. 23:4-5 (MSG)         -God is your security “Every beast of the forest is mine, the cattle on a thousand hills.  I know every bird of the mountains, and everything that moves in the field is mine.  If I were hungry, I would not tell you; for the world is mine, and all it contains.” -Psalm 50:10-12C. Duties (6:18)1. Do Good-Gk. word ‘agathoergeo’ means “to do what is inherently, intrinsically good” “do gooder”2. Be Rich in Good Deeds-Idea is to abundantly furnish (including in this letter your own family, needy widows, leaders of the church, and other believers in need.3. Be Generous and Willing to Share-Idea connotes giving liberally, bountifully even sacrificially from an unrestrained heart.C.  Delight (6:19)Delight is in the Present & FutureExperience “the real life” NOW *Stories* Laying up treasure in heaven“The less I spent on myself and the more I gave to others, the fuller of happiness and blessing did my soul become.” -Hudson Taylor“God prospers me not to raise my standard of living, but to raise my standard of giving.” -Randy Alcorn-EROI “Eternal Return on Investment” -Pastor Chris Hodges

10.19.2025 // Put on the Armor // Dr. Shawn Beaty

Ephesians 6:10-20THE BATTLE IS REAL, BUT IT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINKFor our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12Your real enemy isn't your boss, your ex, or your circumstances—it's much more dangerous than that."We modern people are too materialistic to believe in spiritual warfare, yet too superstitious to deny that evil exists. We sense something is wrong but misidentify the enemy. The enemy wants you to fight the wrong battlesWe exhaust ourselves fighting people instead of praying. We blame circumstances instead of recognizing spiritual oppositionWe try self-help solutions for spiritual problems"You can't fight a spiritual battle with physical weapons."This is why all our cultural solutions—therapy, politics, education, technology—while good in themselves, never quite deliver the peace and transformation they promise. They're addressing symptoms, not the disease."You can't win a spiritual war with a worldly weapon."APPLICATION: Stop blaming people for problems that have spiritual roots.DON'T TALK ABOUT IT, PUT IT ON!13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Ephesians 6:13Notice Paul doesn't say "forge your armor" or "earn your armor." He says, "Put on” God's armor. This is grace. Christianity isn't about making yourself strong enough for battle; it's about clothing yourself in Christ's strength. The Belt of Truth (v. 14a)“Truth isn't just something you believe—it's something that holds everything else together."Jesus Is the Truth, Put on the Gospel! His perfect life, Atoning death, and resurrectionThe Belt Holds the Armor TogetherThe Breastplate of Righteousness (v. 14b)Your heart is protected not by your goodness, but by His."This is not your righteousness. Put on Jesus' righteousness.Shoes of the Gospel of Peace (v. 15)You can't stand firm if you don't know where you stand."Roman soldiers wore special boots with hobnails for traction. The gospel gives us traction in slippery circumstances—we're stable because we know we're loved, forgiven, and secured by grace. You also need these to march. Can you follow your orders from the master? The Shield of Faith (v. 16)"Faith doesn't make the arrows disappear—it keeps them from destroying you."Flaming arrows" are doubts, temptations, accusationsDistractions from the main thingThe Helmet of Salvation (v. 17a)"What you think about your salvation determines how you live."Your head (your mind, your thoughts) must be protected) Rom 12:2Assurance of salvation keeps you from despair and pride.Without this helmet, every failure makes you think you've lost your salvation, and every success makes you think you've earned it. The helmet reminds you: you're saved by grace, kept by grace, and will be glorified by grace. The Sword of the Spirit (v. 17b)"The only offensive weapon God gives you is His Word."Jesus defeated Satan with Scripture (Matthew 4)In our culture, we think arguments, protests, and power moves change things. But God says His Word, spoken in the Spirit's power, is what advances His kingdom. We've traded the sword for pop psychology and cultural commentary—and wonder why we're losing ground.WE PUT IT ON THROUGH PRAYER"Wearing the armor isn't enough—you must stay connected to the Commander."Paul ends this armor passage not with "Now go fight!" but with "Pray constantly." Why? Because the armor isn't magic—it represents our relationship with Christ. Prayer is how we stay connected to the power source.Paul asks for prayer himself"If Paul needed prayer support, what makes you think you can fight alone?"Prayerless Christians are like soldiers who show up to battle but never talk to their commanding officer."4. IT MUST BE RECEIVED

10.12.2025 // Renovation or Decoration // Dr. Shawn Beaty

Ephesians 4:17-24I. You Have Been Taught Better (v. 20-21)“That, however, is not the way of life you learned when you heard about Christ” Ephesians 4:20A. Learning Christ vs. Learning About Christ •Paul says we “learned Christ” - not just facts, but a person •Christianity is encountering Jesus, not adopting a moral systemTruth isn’t a system to master; truth is a person to know. And knowing Jesus changes everything. •The gospel itself contains the power for transformationB. The Truth That Is in Jesus •“As the truth is in Jesus” - a crucial phrase •Truth isn’t abstract principle; it’s embodied in a person •The reality of who Jesus is and what He’s done changes everythingTransition to point 2“to be made new in the attitude of your minds; “ Ephesians 4:23A. Put Off the Old Self REMOVAL(v. 22)You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; •The “old self” corrupted by deceitful desires •Not gradual improvement but decisive break •ITS REMOVING YOUR GRAVE CLOTHESKey Question: What does this mean practically? •Not self-improvement through willpower alone •Recognizing the old identity is dead (Romans 6) •We’re not trying to become Christians; we already areB. Be Renewed in the Spirit of Your Mind  RENEWAL(v. 23)to be made new in the attitude of your minds;  •The often-overlooked middle step •Renewal is passive voice - something done to us •The mind must be transformed by gospel truthThe Pattern or renewing the mind •Our behaviors flow from beliefs •Wrong behaviors come from functional beliefs that oppose the gospel •Lasting change requires exposing and replacing false beliefs with gospel truthYou become like whatever you think about most.If you want to change your habits, change what you feed your mind. You can’t control what pops into your head, but you can control what stays there.Your thoughts become your actions. Your actions become your character.Example Application: •If struggling with anxiety: What am I believing about God’s control or care? •If struggling with anger: What am I treating as ultimate that only God should be? •Gospel renewal means letting God’s truth reshape our deepest assumptionsC. Put On the New Self Replacement(v. 24)and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. •Created to be like God - our true destiny •“Righteousness and holiness” - not earned but received •Like putting on new, clean garments of identityGospel Connection: Before we can “put off” or “put on” anything, we must first understand what Christ has done for us. Moralism says “try harder.” The gospel says “you’ve been changed.”“God’s plan for you isn’t improvement—it’s transformation. You can’t change your life until you change your thinking.Change is not a moment in time…. It’s a direction you purposely live your life inII. The Three-Fold Pattern of Gospel Change (v. 22-24)“Real change requires three things: Removal, Renewal, and Replacement.”

Ephesians 2:1-10 NIV1. YOUR ENEMY HAS A STRATEGY "You followed the ways of this world" Ephesians 2:2A. He Uses Cultural CurrentsSatan doesn't need to possess everyone; he just needs to influence the cultureWhen the culture moves away from God, people drift with it naturally"Satan's greatest victory isn't making people bad - it's making bad things normal in a world that's going the wrong direction."B. He Makes Wrong Feel RightThe "ways of this world" feel natural and acceptablePeer pressure becomes spiritual pressure"When everyone's doing it, it's easy to forget that God isn't."Against the grainHis Strategy has worked well! He has deceived and separated all humanity from a relationship with God. (give premise to the Gospel, our SIN)"The ruler of the kingdom of the air" Ephesians 2:2A. Satan Is Real and ActiveNot a cartoon character with a pitchforkHe has authority in the spiritual realmHis influence is invisible but undeniableB. Satan Controls the AtmosphereThe "air" represents the spiritual atmosphere around usHe influences thoughts, attitudes, and motivations"Satan may not control your circumstances, but he's constantly trying to control your perspective on them.""The spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient" Ephesians 2:2 A. He Works Through Willing PeopleSatan uses people who reject God's authorityDisobedience opens the door to his influenceNot everyone who opposes you is your enemy - they may be his victimB. He Creates a Domino EffectOne person's disobedience affects othersSin spreads through relationships and communities"Satan doesn't just want to destroy you - he wants to use you to destroy others."C. Lies He tellsDid God really say that? You don’t matter to himYou call yourself a Christian? You don’t want to look like a religious nut?2. YOUR ENEMY HAS POWER 3. YOUR ENEMY HAS A TARGET 4. YOUR ENEMY HAD YOU FOOLED "All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh" Ephesians 2:3A. We Were All Under His InfluencePaul includes himself - "all of us"Being religious doesn't make you exemptWe followed our sinful nature naturallyB. We Lived for Self-Gratification"Cravings of our flesh and thoughts"We were slaves to our appetites and attitudesYou are not a free spirit able to do what you want… You are a slave to your flesh and it never is satisfied"Before Christ, we weren't free spirits - we were prisoners who loved our chains.""4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. "Ephesians 2:4-5A. God's Love Trumps Satan's SchemesThe word "But" changes everythingGod's love is greater than our pastHis mercy is richer than our mistakesB. God's Power Defeats Satan's PlansWhat Satan meant for destruction, God uses for redemption"Satan may have had the first word in your life, but God always has the last word."God is not concerned about where you have been… He is concerned with where you are going and who, and WHOSE  you are becoming5. YOUR ENEMY IS NO MATCH FOR GOD "Satan's power is like darkness - it seems overwhelming until the light shows up. When God says 'But' in your life, it's game over for the enemy."

09.07.2025 // The Fruit of Faithfulness // Dr. Shawn Beaty

In our age of instant everything—instant texting, instant coffee, instant results—we've largely forgotten the power of the slow, steady work of faithfulness. We swipe when relationships get difficult, quit when jobs get challenging, and abandon commitments when they stop feeling convenient. We live in a culture that has trained us to expect immediate gratification and to move on the moment things require effort or sacrifice.Matthew 25:14-15Matthew 25:20-21Matthew 25:24-28I. FAITHFULNESS IS A CHOICE, NOT A FEELING"Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful."1 Corinthians 4:2 Quoteable Statement: "Faithfulness isn't about feeling like it - it's about following through when you don't feel like it."Everyone wants to be a beast, but they don't want to do what beasts do….“It is required of a man that he be faithful, not successful.” Howard Hendricks, "Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much." Luke 16:10 Quoteable Statement: "God uses small tests to prepare us for big assignments. If you're not faithful with a borrowed car, why would He give you your own business?"Illustrations:Joseph was faithful as a servant before becoming prime ministerDavid was faithful with sheep before leading IsraelJesus was faithful to earthly parents as a carpenter before his heavenly missionGod called me to preach…. Where I am invited, if possible, I will go… Small stages lead to bigger ones.Three Areas Where Faithfulness Counts:Time - Are you on time? Do you keep your word about schedules?Money - Do you pay your bills? Return what you borrow? Give what you promise?Relationships - Do you keep confidences? Show up when promised? Follow through on commitments?Quoteable Statement: "Little acts of faithfulness are the building blocks of a trustworthy life." "His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things.'"Matthew 25:21 -Quoteable Statement: "Faithfulness is the soil where God grows bigger opportunities."The Faithfulness-Fruitfulness Cycle:Faithfulness builds trustTrust creates opportunitiesOpportunities produce influenceInfluence generates impactBiblical Examples:Ruth's faithfulness to Naomi led to marriage with BoazDaniel's faithfulness in exile led to positions of powerMary's faithfulness to God's call led to mothering the MessiahModern Application: Every person of great impact started with small acts of faithfulnessQuoteable Statement: "God isn't looking for your ability - He's looking for your availability and reliability."Three Questions to Ask Yourself:What small thing is God asking me to be faithful in right now?Growth group….Where have I been unfaithful that I need to make right? What big thing might God be preparing me for through small acts of faithfulness?Final Quoteable Statement: "Your faithfulness today determines your fruitfulness tomorrow. Don't despise small beginnings - God doesn't."II. FAITHFULNESS STARTS IN THE SMALL THINGS (8 minutes)III. FAITHFULNESS PRODUCES FRUITFULNESS (7 minutes)IV The Faithfulness Test

Romans 15:14Goodness Is More Than Being NiceGreek word agathos: Active benevolence that seeks others' welfareGoodness confronts what's wrong and promotes what's rightKingdom Principle: God's goodness always acts for His glory and others' benefitOnly God is inherently good Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone.(Mark 10:18)When you're born again, God's nature becomes your natureSpiritual Reality: You don't try to be good - you express the goodness already in you"Stop trying to manufacture what God has already deposited.""You can't live the Christian life on human horsepower - you need Holy Spirit power.""The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you - start acting like it."Niceness avoids conflict; goodness addresses problemsJesus was good when He cleansed the templeThe Standard: Divine goodness, not cultural politeness"Niceness is about avoiding conflict; goodness is about lovingly confronting what's wrong. 08.17.2025 // A Kindness That Brings You Home // Dr. Shawn Beaty

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other. Galatians 5:22-261. KIND PEOPLE UNDERSTAND WHERE KINDNESS COMES FROM But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, Titus 3:4-5God showed us kindness first - we don't earn it, we receive itApplication: You can only give what you've receivedPractical: Start each day remembering how God has been kind to you. Explain how you pray/meditate on the fruit of the Spirit2. KIND PEOPLE CHOOSE TO BE KIND EVEN WHEN IT'S HARD But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Luke 6:35Real kindness costs something - time, energy, pride, moneyIt's easy to be kind to kind people; Jesus calls us to moreApplication: Kindness is a choice, not a feelingPractical: This week, show kindness to someone who's been difficultKindness is love in work clothes."The Point: The businessman had knowledge, success, and resources. But the custodian had something more powerful - a heart transformed by God's kindness. His kindness wasn't just polite behavior; it was the overflow of someone who had experienced grace. The Application: True kindness doesn't depend on your circumstances, your status, or how others treat you. It flows from understanding how lavishly God has treated you. When you've been forgiven much, you can't help but show mercy to others."We love because he first loved us" 1 John 4:19. Our kindness is simply a reflection of the kindness we've received from God."As we have opportunity, let us do good to all people..."Opportunities are everywhere when you have "kind eyes."Small acts create a big impactApplication: Be intentionally aware of the needs around youPractical: CONEXPO Sign Up! Relationships and ResponsibilitiesMarriage Kindness ChallengeGospel Turn:4. GOD’S KINDNESS ALWAYS LEADS US HOME TO HIMOr do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance? Romans 2:43. KIND PEOPLE LOOK FOR OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE 7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. PRAYER IS THE WORKPastor Mark Lee | Vantagepoint ChurchLuke 11:9 - Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find;knock and the door will be opened to you.Mark 11:24 – Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it and it will be yours.Matt 21:22 – If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for inprayer.Acts 7:55 – full of the Holy Spirit he looked up to heaven and saw the glory ofGod and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.Acts 12:1 – It was about this time that King Herod arrested some whobelonged to the church intending to persecute them. He had James, thebrother of John, put to death with the sword. When he saw that this pleasedthe Jews, he proceeded to seize Peter also.Acts 12:12-15 – When this had dawned on him, he went to the house ofMary the mother of John, also called Mark, where many people had gatheredand were praying. Peter knocked at the outer entrance and a servant namedRhonda came to answer the door. When she recognized Peter’s voice, she wasso overjoyed she ran back without opening it and exclaimed, “Peter is at thedoor!” “You’re out of your mind,” they told her.Acts 12:5 – So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying.Haddon Robinson- Where was it that Jesus sweat great drops of blood? Not inPilate's hall, not on his way to Golgotha, (in other words, he didn’t just pray whilehe was in the trial) it was in the Garden of Gethsemane. There he offered upprayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the One who could save himfrom death. Had I been there and witnessed that struggle, I would have worriedabout the future. If he is so broken up when all he is doing is praying, I mighthave said, what will he do when he faces a real crisis. Why can't he approach theordeal of his three sleeping friends with a calm confidence? Yet, when the testcame, Jesus walked to the cross with courage while his three friends fell apartand fell away.Charles Finney - I have never known a person to sweat blood (while praying);but I’ve known a person to pray till blood started from his nose. And I haveknown persons to pray till they were all wet with perspiration, in the coldestweather in winter. I have known a person to pray for hours, till their strengthwas all exhausted with the agony of their minds.”Augustine’s mother - It is not possible that a child of such tears can be lost.

08.03.2025 // The Patience Principal // Dr. Shawn Beaty

‭‭Exodus‬ ‭34‬:‭4‬-‭9‬ ‭NIV‬‬“Patience is trusting God’s timing instead of demanding your own.”“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”‭‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭2‬-‭4‬ ‭NIV‬‬What This Means: • Patience isn’t about feeling calm - it’s about choosing to trust • It’s a decision you make before the emotion kicks in • You can choose patience even when you don’t feel patientApplication:“The next time you’re tempted to get impatient - whether it’s with your spouse, your kids, your boss, or even God - remember this: patience is not a personality trait some people are born with. It’s a choice available to every believer.”Life Connection:Story of one of children learning to tie their shoes…Think about a parent teaching a child to tie their shoes. The parent doesn’t get frustrated after the third try because they understand the process takes time. God sees our spiritual growth the same way.“Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.”‭‭Romans 5:3-5What This Means: • Trials aren’t meant to break you - they’re meant to build you • Every test of patience is actually a gym for your faith • Maturity can’t be microwaved - it must be cultivatedApplication:“God is more interested in your character than your comfort. He’ll often slow down your circumstances to speed up your spiritual growth.”Life Connection:Just like physical muscles grow stronger under resistance, your spiritual muscles grow stronger when they’re stretched by having to wait.Kellie’s Disability: Slow Speech“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:”‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬““For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ What This Means: • God’s delays are not God’s denials • His timing is always perfect, even when we can’t see it • Patience positions you to receive God’s best, not just something goodApplication:“Stop trying to help God out with your timeline. When you’re patient, you’re saying, ‘God, I trust that you know what you’re doing, even when I don’t understand what you’re doing.’”Life Connection: Abraham waited 25 years for Isaac. Joseph waited 13 years to see his dreams fulfilled. David waited 15 years between being anointed and becoming king. God’s greatest blessings often come wrapped in God’s perfect timing.PRACTICAL STEPS TO GROW IN PATIENCE1. PRAY FIRST, REACT SECOND“Before you respond to that frustrating situation, take it to God first. Prayer changes your perspective before it changes your circumstances.”2. FOCUS ON WHAT GOD IS DOING, NOT WHAT HE’S NOT DOING“In every season of waiting, God is working - sometimes on your situation, sometimes on you, always for your good.”3. REMEMBER GOD’S FAITHFULNESS IN THE PAST“Keep a  journal. Write down the times God came through when you had to wait. It will build your faith for the next time.”“This week, I want you to identify one area where you’ve been impatient - maybe it’s a relationship, a career goal, a health issue, or a dream that seems delayed. Instead of demanding that God work faster, I challenge you to pray this prayer: ‘God, I trust your timing. Help me grow in patience while I wait for your perfect plan to unfold.’”POINT 1: PATIENCE IS A CHOICE, NOT A FEELINGPOINT 2: PATIENCE PRODUCES SPIRITUAL MATURITYPOINT 3: PATIENCE ALIGNS YOU WITH GOD’S PERFECT TIMING

1. PEACE WITH GOD "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." Romans 5:1The Problem: Sin separates us from GodThe Solution: Jesus bridges the gapThe Result: No more guilt, no more shame, no more fear of judgmentDo you have peace with God or peace with your sin. Some people think it means that I am okay with God now… I added him to my life I am not mad at him. THATS NOT WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS (Sin)10 For if, while we were God’s enemies,we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! Romans 5:10 John 16:1-11 and Verse 33"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7The Problem: Worry and anxietyThe Solution: Prayer and trustThe Result: Supernatural calm that doesn't make senseAs the guard looks on through a peep hole, Bonhoeffer prays, "Lord, it's dark in me; in you is day. I am alone, but you will stay. I am afraid; you never cease. I am at war; in you is peace." Slowly we see a pair of hands reach up and touch the wall opposite of where Bonhoeffer's hands are.As dawn breaks, a single rifle shot shatters the morning calm. The same German guard, now more somber and less cynical, appears at Bonhoeffer's cell. "I thought you might like to know. The boy from the next cell—he was very calm. It surprised everyone. He was executed this morning."Illustration #2 Anxiety and fear can come from looking to things other than God for our identity and worth. God's peace as the security that comes from knowing our identity is rooted in being beloved children of God, not in our performance, others' opinions, or our circumstances. When we know who we are in Christ, we're freed from the exhausting cycle of trying to prove ourselves.Lose your job… You may lose yourselfLose your Status… You may lose yourselfLose your beauty… Lose yourselfSexuality, gender, political ideology… Lose yourselfJEsus Cals the storm> Mark 4:39“Peace be still…” Rest beneath the rest3. 07.06.2025 // Real Freedom // Dr. Shawn Beaty

13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. 14 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” k 15 If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other. 16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.” Galatians 5:13–26Explain the concept of Legalism and License and how they both lead to slavery… The Flesh leans toward both legalism and license1. If you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. 06.29.2025 // The Parable of the Sower // Dr. Shawn Beaty

SERMON NOTES“That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the lake. Such large crowds gathered around him that he got into a boat and sat in it, while all the people stood on the shore. Then he told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. Whoever has ears, let them hear.” The disciples came to him and asked, “Why do you speak to the people in parables?” He replied, “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. This is why I speak to them in parables: “Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand. In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: “ ‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving. For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.’ But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.”‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13‬:‭1‬-‭16‬ ‭NIV‬‬“As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up.”‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13‬:‭4‬ ‭NIV‬‬Jesus explains that this is those who hear but do not understand: Satan snatches them away“Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. Amazing Grace: What We Don't DeserveFor it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 NIVGrace Is More Common Than You Think (Common Grace) He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. Matthew 5:45 (NIV)Grace is More Than Forgiveness: Forgiveness is something God does; Grace is part of who He is.The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him; for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust. Psalm 103:8-14 NIV3. 06.15.2025 // Father's Day // Bishop JR Coleman & Pastor Dewayne Coleman

Soul Winning: Church, I can say with confidence, that God’s will for all men, all women, for all of us, who will profess Christ as Lord, it’s all about soul winning. Matthew 4:21-22 says, And going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, and he called them. 22 Immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.  Have a Passion for Winning Souls: There should always be a willingness to seek after the richness of the word of God, to stir the hearts and challenge people to seek after Christ and His will for the human race. Everything that Christ had in mind, and everything that has to do with the church of Christ, it has to do with winning souls. Whenever people ask me, what is God’s will for my life, my answer is, winning souls. Now this is a crazy response to following Jesus: Who in their right mind, would just up and quit their job, because some stranger said follow me. Not only did this stranger say follow me, but he also said follow me and I will make you a fisher of men. In the natural way of looking at this situation, yes it is crazy, weird, bizarre and stupid. But in the supernatural realm this was brilliant, magnificent, courageous and out right bold. When God asks us to do something, how come we don’t respond as quickly to His come and follow me. Can you imagine what our lives would be like, if we responded to God just as fast, as James and John did? John 6:63 says "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.John 15:26 says "But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.
