About this Series: Becoming an Investor In this series, hear from women investors on how they got started, what they look for in founders and teams, and how future women in investing should equip themselves. Join the CoCoon Online Community: http://www.hkcocoon.com
Backstory from Erica: I watch Shark Tank with my daughters: Sophia (6) and Zoe (4). I wanted to introduce them to kid entrepreneurs so they could see how other kids can turn ideas into reality. One evening Sophia asked, "Mommy why is there only one girl and who is she?" She was pointing at Lori Greiner. "I want to be her when I grow up."
I started thinking of the 100+ college interns I've worked with, many of them women - those with the brightest spark all aim to become an investor one day. I hope that this series of insights and stories will inspire young girls, teenagers, college students, sisters, daughters, girlfriends to embark on the different journeys that make becoming an investor who can mobilize capital to make a difference in the world possible. Enjoy and tell us who you want to hear from in the comments below.
