In 2020, Jeff Bezos made $75 billion dollars according to Business Insider but the employees working to keep Amazon running felt taken advantage of. Despite a historic unionizing effort at an Amazon warehouse in Alabama, the union lost the vote to represent the warehouse employees. But did Amazon play fair? New claims and motions made to the National Labor Relations Board covering everything from possible collusion with the US Postal Service to intimidating employees on the toilet say otherwise. This is the bizarre world of Amazon and union organizing. The law can be, at its best, fascinating, at its worst, it legalizes war crimes. At the very least, it's a curious component to our society. I’m your host, Bridget Roddy. Join me every Wednesday to explore bizarre, abhorrent, and sometimes whimsical areas of the US legal system.
