Fringe follows the exploits of Olivia Dunham, Walter Bishop, and his son Peter as they investigate aspects of Fringe Science (reanimation, teletransportation, etc). All over the world, a series of apparent experiments collectively referred to as "the Pattern"  (e.g., a newborn baby who rapidly ages and dies within a few hours, a  bus full of passengers trapped in a strange substance like mosquitoes in amber) are occurring for reasons unknown. Olivia, Peter, and Walter are in charge of investigating these strange events to determine their source. Connected to the Pattern is a company called Massive Dynamic,  which is a leading global research company that holds patents for a  number of new and important technologies. Throughout the first half of the first season, Mitchell Loeb, a rogue FBI agent, orchestrates some of these events as part of a larger plan to break a man out of prison and kidnap Olivia. Travel Back to the Filmography with the show dedicated to watching every credited film from an actor’s complete Back catalogue from past debut through to present day in chronological order. Each episode, I am joined by an esteemed guest to watch and discuss the next entry from the focused Filmography and consider how it ranks amidst their career and whether we can trace any typecasting trends or topic traits or theatrical tics. For episode fourteen, I’m joined by new voice to the show but seasoned popular culture pro and Month of Spooks maestro Marckoguy to discuss the fourteenth big screen appearance of The Stath in the lesser-known action-thriller Chaos. It’s the comic that started the Marvel Age of Comics! It turned the publisher that had been known as Timely and Atlas (amongst other various and sundry names) into what we know today as Marvel Comics and in turn Marvel Entertainment. This is where it all started after a conversation with DC’s Jack Liebowitz, Martin Goodman turned his nephew, Stan Lee, down a history making path with comics genius Jack Kirby. Discover the roots of Marvel Comics in the fantasy and horror stories that were Marvel’s bread and butter before this landmark issue- Fantastic Four #1.
