Returning for the second year, Spotify’s Sound Up aims to lift up and amplify First Nation's people's voices in Australia through their Podcast Accelerator program.Applicants don’t require any previous experience in podcasting just a voice to be heard and story to be told.Of the applicants, 10 will be selected to attend the residential workshop in Sydney with travel and accommodation covered for those in different states.At the completion of the week long workshop, 3 finalists will be awarded a cash grant to develop their podcasts- all 10 participants will also be given equipment and software to produce their podcasts.2019’s Sound Up program awarded four grants, one of the four was Rowdie Walden, Rowdie is currently in production for his podcast ‘Search Engine Sex’.CMTO's Mikaela Ford caught up with him to gauge his feeling on Sound Up, his podcast and what the opportunity meant for him as a proud Indigenous Australian.This podcast was brought to you by the Community Media Training Organisation with a special thank you to Rowdie Walden, Tamara Jenkins, Community Radio Network and Sound Up Australia.Applications are now open until March 15th.

In September 2019. Assistant Pathways Training Manager, Mikaela Ford attended the 20th Remote Indigenous Media Festival, hosted by First Nations Media Australia (FNMA) and Torres Strait Island Media Association (TSIMA) on Waiben, Thursday Island in the Torres Strait, Queensland, AustraliaOver the course of the week Mikaela, along with wonderful CMTO trainer Tony Collins lead intensive Podcasting workshops.This Podcast is the curation of all the pieces produced by the participants.
