By embracing e-commerce, small businesses can break free from geographical constraints and compete with larger players in the market.
Being a business owner can be trying. Especially if you are not where you want to be in your business. I had hoped by now that my businesses would be funding our lives and our main source of income. Believe me, this episode is not a pity party - but I know I'm not the only one that can feel like this and I want to just share that you are not alone.

Most people who know me, know I don't delve into politics much in public. I feel everyone is allowed to have their own beliefs for religion, politics, or other matters and it's not mine or anyone else's right to judge someone based on that. But.....I have had the pleasure of meeting Senator Diana Dizoglio on many occasions thanks to my work at the Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce. I have heard her speak on several occasions about her love and support of small businesses and knew I wanted her to join me on my podcast. She is a leader and role model to many, and whether or not you agree with her politically, it is hard to deny her passion when you listen to  her speak. I am so grateful I got to squeeze into her busy schedule. If only my listeners could see the smile on my face and how I wanted to jump out of my seat because I was so excited to hear what MA State Senator Dizoglio had to say. Many of the things she talked about where right on track with why I started this podcast and how I work with other Small Business Owners. I hope you get as much out of this podcast as I did. If you need to reach her for small business help - her office number is 978-684-7747 and her email is Diana.DiZoglio@masenate.gov. Interested in learning more about her campaign for State Auditor, you can reach her at: dianaforma.com or email info@dianaforma.com.
My planner has been a godsend when it comes to keeping my brain calm and less anxious. I love seeing what I have to do, having a place to take notes, and being able to do a brain dump if necessary. I walk through how I set up my planner in this episode. I hope it helps those of you that have a planner, but not sure how to use it or haven't even started. Everyone is different. And in all honestly, every time I get a new planner, I set it up different. Point in case...I recorded this episode Saturday, and since then (today is Monday), I have already purchased a new planner. I'll post that picture on my Facebook page. Let me know if this helps or what questions I can answer for you! Also, if you have awesome tips for keeping your planner, share them on this post on Facebook (facebook.com/fullpicturemarketing) so others can learn!
Thanks to dictionary.com, a side hustle is defined as "A means of making money alongside one's main form of employment or income." But is it feasible to do both at once? I'll tell you I have 3 side hustles while working a full time job, renovating a 1905 Farmhouse, and still living my best life with my husband and family. Matt Martin is an amazing example of a side hustle funding his dreams. My favorite comment he made? That he can now do things or a work a job because he wants to, not because he needs to. Listen in to hear how Matt built his side hustles, the important things he learned along the way, and how you can find more tips from him. Looking to follow Matt? I truly believe in continue your education to help grow your business and to elevate your personal life. I have been working with leadership and business coach George Burtch since the end of 2020. It has changed my outlook on myself and how I work within my business. George Burtch worked in board game business for 40 years with Milton Bradley and after an acquisition Hasbro.  George started his career in Operations and subsequently had roles in Research and Development and Marketing.   George retired from Hasbro in 2012 as a Vice President of Marketing.  Two of the things that have always been important to George are community and people.  George served on many non-profit boards in Western Mass and for several years was Hasbro's community relations representative in Western Massachusetts.   Shortly after his retirement George, and his wife Judi, left the comfort of their home in Ludlow, Ma. and embarked on a 3 1/2 year journey in service to seniors.  They worked for Holiday Retirement as live in managers at Senior Independent Living communities.  After finishing that up George and Judi settled in Salisbury, Ma.   George then started his small consulting company Burtchtree Advisors.  Burtchtree Advisors focuses on Leadership training and one one one business coaching.  George now spends his time pursuing his passions of helping people realize their potential and giving back to the community.  In addition to his role as principal of Burtchtree Advisors George remains active in the community through his work with the Salisbury Chamber of Commerce, Salisbury Cable Television, Habitat for Humanity Salisbury Build and the effort to bring a historical carousel to Salisbury Beach. Check out George and all he has to offer at burtchtreeadvisors.com
Starting to set up your business is exciting, but can also be daunting. One of the most important things you can do in the beginning is to set up the structure correctly. According to the SBA's website "Choosing which business structure is right for you is a crucial step when starting a business. The entity you select has legal, financial, and operational implications. Here are three factors to consider when choosing a business structure." SBA.gov I sat down (virtually) with Adam Hogue from Northern Peak Financial to discuss his journey as an entrepreneur and what a business structure can look like. And he taught me a very important thing...your EIN (employer identification number) is FREE! A little bit more about Adam: Adam M Hogue started his career in financial planning after serving 4 years of active duty in the United States Army as an Airborne Officer.  He worked for both large and small financial firms before starting his own Registered Investment Advisory in 2015.  In January 2017, Adam affiliated with LPL Financial to provide exceptional service to his clients and rebranded his firm Ulen & Hogue Financial.  In 2020 to continue his growth as an advisor Adam merged his practice with two other local firms to create Northern Peak Financial. Adam is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER TM Adam is still serving in the Massachusetts Army National Guard as a Logistics Officer and is very active in veterans’ causes. Adam has a BA from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, a MA from the University of Nebraska, and a MBA from Fitchburg State University, as well as a graduate certificate in financial planning from Boston University. https://www.northernpeakfinancial.com/team/adam-hogue I look forward to hearing your thoughts and hope you can connect with Adam to learn more!

This week I was struggling with recording this episode. I wanted to talk about avoiding the hard sell when you meet someone and you are networking. It was a conversation I had many times with my friend Shirley, and I thought it was so important. And then a light dawned...it is so easy to talk to Shirley about this "pain" point we have had, why not bring her on the show! So that is why it is late this week but when you know something isn't right, you have to go with your gut! I hope you enjoy this week's episode on relationship and trust building before your sell. To learn more about Shirley, please visit nontoxicshirley.com or facebook.com/nontoxicshirley. Did you like this week's episodes or have questions? Please feel free to reach out on Facebook at facebook.com/fullpicturemarketing, my website fullpicturemarketing.com or leave me a voicemail on this episode! Happy networking everyone!

This week's episode is short and sweet. I am asking you a bunch of questions (not random I promise) to help you narrow down the target market you are looking to sell your products and services to. Remember, this is not an exact science. Look at whom you are already selling to (if you are) or whom you designed your product/service for. Then go through these questions with me. Feel free to press pause, rewind, whatever you need to start this brain dump. Want to work through this with me? Feel free to reach out on Facebook or Instagram @fullpicturemarketing or rmkpellerin@gmail.com. I can also be found at fullpicturemarketing.com Have a great day!
