The events of April 20th, 1999 shaped our nation and altered the American narrative. One of America’s deadliest school shootings took place in a small town in Colorado, leaving thirteen dead and another twenty-one severely injured. And it was all broadcast over national tv for the nation to see.
The second season of Confronting takes on one of the most prolific tragedies in American history: the Columbine High School massacre. It was a devastating example of how easily a place of learning, familiarity and peace can descend into a war zone of chaos in a moment, the teenagers present that day are now adults who bear the mental and physical scars of the carnage they lived through. Amy Over, a Columbine survivor who is still living with its aftermath and raising her own children in its shadow, confronts many of the realities, questions and myths that surround the massacre to this day. Amy, through her own experience and by speaking with survivors, investigators, classmates, reporters on the scene and other important voices, brings a first-person account of the physical, emotional and spiritual journey that comes along with confronting the worst day of her life.
Season 1 - Confronting: O.J. Simpson
25 years after the crimes that ignited the "Trial of the Century" Kim Goldman, sister of murder victim Ron Goldman, is digging deep into the vicious crime that changed her life, and many others, forever. Thrust into the public eye at the age of 22, Kim was devastated when OJ Simpson was found not guilty of the murders of his ex-wife Nicole and her brother Ron. There has been much debate and confusion about what really happened the night of those brutal murders and for the first time Kim gets answers to questions that have been haunting her since the trial. She sits down with prosecutors, investigators, and witnesses who never got to speak and jurors who voted not guilty. In this 10-part series, Kim takes you on a journey as she reclaims and reflects on the part of her life that was changed permanently.

Fame was garnered and careers were launched during the Trial of the Century. 25 years later, Kim sits down with two of Nicole Brown Simpson’s neighbors from Brentwood, the Los Angeles neighborhood where the murders occurred. Kato Kaelin and Jill Shively witnessed events that occurred the night of Ron’s death. In Episode 4, Kim goes back to the courthouse where her brother’s trial took place for the first time in 20 years. Kim sits down with former Assistant District Attorney Bill Hodgman and prosecutor Chris Darden, who both fought and failed to find justice for Kim’s brother. Kim presses to understand what went wrong with the prosecution’s case and learns that many believed the prosecution never had a chance. They’ll talk about Chris and Bill’s differing opinions on whether the prosecution was ready to go to trial or not. The two men reflect on the outcome and decisions that were made, most notably, Darden’s decision to have O.J. O.J. Simpson’s murder trial was broadcast in its entirety on television, and millions of Americans watched. The story was controversial, sensational, absurd, and the world became invested in the outcome. The Goldmans didn’t get justice during the criminal trial, but the family had a second chance by filing a civil case against Simpson for the wrongful death of Ron. This time, it wouldn’t be “the People vs. Orenthal James Simpson”, it would be the Goldman’s name on the lawsuit. Kim speaks with Dan Petrocelli, the Goldman’s attorney for the lesser-known civil trial. Dan reflects on everything from his strategy in the courtroom, to the pressure he felt to win the case. Kim also speaks with Pablo Fenjves, a witness during the criminal trial who was later hired to ghostwrite Simpson’s book, If I Did It – a hypothetical account of the night of the murders. I just want to stand in place for Amy's mom, say to her ,"I'm sorry I wasn't there for you when you needed it" and give her a hug. and maybe that could help her release and heal from the feeling of abandonment from that time in her life. I had someone do that for me long after my mom was gone and it was so healing.

So I am a little disappointed that this is the last episode. I would have loved to have them touch on the deeper issues within American culture that contributed to this tragedy, like gun control or at least have an honest discussion about it. I would have also like for her to confront the person who bought the weapons, or at least delve into her motives further. I don't feel like she actually confronted people the way Lauren Goldman did in season one. Nevertheless, what Amy did was a great thing, discussing this with survivors and victims' families. I hope this has helped with hers and other victims' healing.

I find it interesting that you have to have active shooter drills and have these types of discussions with your children, choose kindergartens based on how close the classroom is to the entrance because 'this is the world'. No it is not the world. It is America. But hey, at least you all have your guns.
It's annoying how obsessed you are about this hit list. You speak of it on just about every episode several times. I suggest some counseling for that because I dont see how that can bring you "closure". I'm sorry if I sound rude because that's not my intention. I am so sorry for your trauma along with every other survivor, it breaks my heart. It just sounds self centered when you speak on that so much!
This is so heartbreaking. So senseless. This happened when I was pretty young, but I remember. My heart goes out to Ron's family and friends.
I found the FBI interview extremely fascinating and right on the nose. Something I have always thought of is, we are lacking teaching how to care about other people instead of just ourselves. My opinion from what I observed, selfishness is what is celebrated and rewardedin this country.
My heart breaks for everyone who is still suffering from the tragedy. 🤗😪💔.
