P-TECH opportunities are growing in Tomball ISD, and offering an incredible option for one's educational journey. Dr. Z, joined by three individuals Dr. Michael Webb, Karla Sandoval and Bob Thompson, discuss the many benefits and value of a P-TECH and how it lends itself to supporting career exploration and work-based learning opportunities for our students.
Three dedicated individuals in Dr. Michael Pratt, Mark Lewandowski and John McStravick, who represent 62 years of combined service on the Tomball ISD School Board, joined Dr. Z to reflect on their time as Board Members, and what makes Tomball ISD the connected community that it is today.
Opening a New School in Tomball ISD is no easy feat but three Principals in Dr. Kim McKinney (GLJHS), Dr. Jessica Perez (EEA) and Mr. Chad Schmidt (WEST) have made the transition look seamless and are now sharing their thoughts and insight with Dr. Z on the latest episode of ConnectED.
Great Expectations (GE) in Tomball ISD promotes a climate of mutual respect and academic excellence. Dr. Z was joined by teachers Laura Lagos and Stephanie Ryan and Assistant Superintendent of Strategic Innovation Dr. Lee Wright to discuss creating an intentional focus to embrace GE as a culture instead of a program.
Tomball ISD teachers continue to create a dynamic education environment for their students and Dr. Z was fortunate to have three leading educators in Amber Hess, Emily Adams and Cindy Hearn join her in a conversation about teaching, why they chose education and Tomball ISD, and reflect on the impact they have made on students' lives over the years.
Tomball ISD is fortunate to have strong student leaders that provide a voice for their campus as Superintendent Student Ambassadors. Students from THS, TMHS, and Tomball Star Academy join Dr. Z in a conversation about school, their interests and future plans along with the importance of having a student voice.
In an effort to expand student opportunities, the Tomball ISD Two-Way Dual Language Program is successfully developing a bilingual and biliterate foundation for students at the elementary school level. Dr. Z welcomes TWDL parents Blaire Koehl and Ely Borrero-Messer in a discussion about their child's experience at RES and the benefits of a dual language program.
Fine Arts in Tomball ISD offers endless opportunities for students to excel in what they are passionate about. TISD Director of Fine Arts JD Janda, TMHS Band Director Andy Easton, and CPJHS art teacher Jodi Lea join Dr. Z to chat about what makes being in Fine Arts so special.
Tomball High School Football garnered state-wide recognition following a historic playoff run all while maintaining high academic standards. Senior student-athletes Cale Hellums, Patrick Mologne and Tyler Lee chat with Dr. Z about what it takes to compete and perform at a high level on the football field and in the classroom.
Athletics and Fine Arts in Tomball ISD continue to experience extraordinary success, high participation numbers and are providing our students with endless opportunities during their school experience. Tomball ISD Director of Athletics Vince Sebo and Director of Fine Arts JD Janda joined Dr. Z in a chat about all things Athletics and Fine Arts.
Tomball ISD continues to focus on high-quality instruction with a personalized approach. Asst. Superintendent of Student Support Dr. Michael Webb, Asst. Superintendent of Elem. Schools Dr. George Flores and Director of Human Talent Juan Santos join Dr. Z in a discussion about personalized learning in Tomball ISD.
Tomball Star Academy, Tomball ISD's early college high school, is in year four and will look to graduate its first-ever class in May 2021. Former Principal Kim McKinney and current Principal Dr. Kelly Marchiando joined Dr. Z to discuss how TSA has evolved, its success, and why students are benefiting from this learning environment.
Tomball ISD serves as a premier district of choice expanding student opportunities to develop a bilingual and biliterate foundation in elementary school through its Two-Way Dual Language program. Rosehill Elementary Assistant Principal Paloma Moreno and Director of Multilingual Programs Jessica Perez joined Dr. Z to discuss the success of the TWDL program in its second year.

Tomball Memorial High School senior student-athlete Lorelai Stramrood joined Dr. Z on ConnectED to discuss her experience as the first female football player in TMHS history and her future plans.
Tomball ISD students Caroline Klein (THS) and Reed Baumann (TMHS) joined Dr. Z on ConnectED to discuss what it's been like as seniors navigating the new face-to-face learning environment, all while remaining actively involved in various extracurricular activities on their respective campuses.
Tomball ISD is looking forward to the start of the 2020-2021 school year and welcoming back our students safely to schools.
