Description

connected to goodbye the podcast🤍 originated in nyc + created by Kenya Ameera. “i’m still connected to every goodbye, because it shaped who I’ve become. i think we want to erase all the ugly things we’ve faced to try and present this perfect image, but why not own it? no shame. no embarrassment. whatever you’ve had to say goodbye to, I encourage you to take the lessons, strength, and awakenings that lead to that goodbye and OWN IT. talk about it. write it into the pages of your story. share it. whether you’ve had to say goodbye to a relationship, a loved one that passed, your hometown, a job; whatever it may be… know that there is power in saying goodbye. and there is power in still connecting to that goodbye, so that you’re able to share the wisdom with someone who may truly need it. this podcast is dedicated to all of my painful goodbye’s. this is dedicated to those that will forever live in my heart. the ones I mourn. dead and alive. my inner child + so much more. you will hear from some of my favorite, talented, and beautiful friends. we will have to say goodbye at the end of each conversation, but the connection to the memory we’ve created in that moment… will carry us until we meet again.”

Meleaya, You are so special! Thank you for sharing your story on CTG, and being vulnerable enough to discuss the trials and tribulations of your acting career thus far. To know you, is to know that God’s promise has always prevailed regardless of the obstacles thrown your way. From a sea full of no’s to an abundance of yes’s, and the biggest yes being the one you gave to yourself! The permission to stand in your light. You did it. We can all learn from your ability to persevere and only allow God to define who you are meant to be. I love and admire how faithful you are to God, and your purpose. To anyone listening to this episode; it will be worth every minute. You will understand how God works all things together for your good. If you ever feel overlooked, God still sees you. CTG is a safe place that I am proud of. Hearing Meleaya give so freely on my platform warms my heart. And the most rewarding part is, the best is YET to come for her! Tap in with us, and let us know how you’re feeling. p.s.: happy birthday bestie boo! Xx Ken
AHH!!! guess what? my very first guest is Chelc Drew :) to Chelsea: first and foremost, THANK YOU so much for being open to sharing your experiences, insight, and love on this platform. i had so much fun and i’m grateful the world gets a taste of our friendship. on this episode, we take a deep dive into Chelsea’s newest film Ghost @thefilm.ghost (IG) her creative process, building the dream team, and the themes explored within the film. from our childhood influences to working in the entertainment industry today, we acknowledge the Black women paving the way for us and discuss the work that still needs to be done. all in all, it’s up for Ms. Chelc Drew! she finds her validation from within and continues to create spaces for Black voices to be heard and celebrated. can't wait to bring you more of my beautiful and talented friends! love yall <3 xoxo, Ken
i had to let a lot of things and people go, in order to show up for this version of myself. God called me to bigger and better, but there is always a piece of me that misses parts of who i used to be. i’ve experienced the doubt on so many levels, like who am i kidding? i am just like the people from back home, i don’t deserve this, the dream is too big, etc. that push and pull between slipping into what’s comfortable and challenging myself to aim for more is REAL. my goal is to be vulnerable and open about my journey, with the hope to inspire young women from my community. xoxo, Ken <3
