Description

In Washington, politicians are full of half-truths and hot air. They do little more than grandstanding by spouting off talking points and spin. The Conservative Review with Daniel Horowitz is here to help you cut through the rhetoric and noise and explore the politically right way to think about the issues .

Both at the federal and state levels, if we fail to put pressure on the GOP, the same leaders and influencers will continue to subvert our mandate. I begin with federal news by noting that Nancy Mace’s fake fight against transgenderism is actually subversive because she is the source of the problem. Also, I delve into Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy's op-ed about “DOGE” and raise some concerns that they are skirting the big spending problems while giving the impression that they are discovering some innovative way to cut inflation simply by making the government more efficient. Next, I go through a list of red-state RINO problems, including the incoming speaker of the Missouri House, Jon Patterson. We’re joined today by Missouri state Rep. Justin Sparks, who is challenging Patterson for the speakership. Sparks warns that Patterson blocked ways to defeat the abortion amendment on the ballot, wants to treat abortion as the law of the land, opposed banning chemical castration, and supported denying organ transplants to those who didn’t get the COVID shots! He warns conservatives to stay engaged in legislative affairs because if they fall asleep, the same bad guys will continue to run the party and the red states into the ground.   Learn more about your ad choices. After some uplifting news following the election, I bring you back to reality. Congress still has a massive RINO problem. It’s just that members like Nancy Mace ride our wave of success and ingratiate themselves using the successful fight against transgenderism, even though they continue to believe in the radical feminism and gender-bending that created the problem. Also, I’m very concerned about Dr. Oz being elevated to administrator of CMS. Next, we’re joined by Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) who warns that Republicans have not changed their attitude in Congress, and absent outside activists pressuring them, they will return to the same old behavior. In fact, he lists a bunch of bad bills they are already promoting. Chip also lays out the case for massive spending cuts, a cool-off on immigration, welfare and health care reform, and how to utilize leverage points to fulfill the mandate. After some uplifting news following the election, I bring you back to reality. There are signs that Gen Z is fed up with the Left. But we have not yet educated Gen Zers on affirmative good – the constitutional and biblical values that will rebuild civilization. Today, I broadcast with Rick Green from Patriot Academy’s campus, where we delve into the Patriot Academy program to bring college-age kids down to its mock legislative chamber to go through a simulation of a legislative session. Patriot Academy teaches biblical citizenship in a way nobody else does. Rick and I also delve into knotty issues, such as the cultural rotgut on the right, godless conservatism, and why Republican parents are raising Democrat daughters. It all stems from biblical and civic ignorance. If we don’t plug the gap now, we will not have a red America for the next generation. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
You can win elections on mommy messaging, but you must govern like a daddy. The time has come for Republicans to be honest with the American people. The reason we have inflation is because of the programs people are addicted to. Today, I present a strategy and messaging for Trump to use the veto pen and his bully pulpit as leverage on the few spending bills and reauthorizations of programs that matter. Republicans must lead by example and refuse to spend money on their own pet projects. Next, I delve into immigration. We must stop promoting mommy messaging of “illegal bad, legal good.” Unfortunately, that is the direction many Republicans are headed. Finally, I discuss the need to be the daddy party and categorically oppose the gender-bending of our women. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
The nomination of RFK Jr. to HHS is a dream come true for the medical freedom movement. But others in the media are missing the salient point about how we got here. Trump was forced to concede the vaccine issue to RFK because he was willing to follow through with an independent run in a way that would have assured Trump’s loss. Today, I make the point that we need to play the same hardball with RINOs who win primaries and demand a seat at the table. This is coalition government at its finest. I also outline what RFK can do administratively without changing laws. Finally, I warn about what it will take to cut spending and that we don’t need a Manhattan Project to downsize government. We just need to be honest.    Learn more about your ad choices. Now is the time for serious governing. We need to cut expensive programs and reform the government’s role in our lives. With that said, I explain why I am pessimistic about the current leadership in Congress and their will to change their priorities. I also discuss my thoughts on Trump’s Cabinet picks and note that it’s the West Wing leadership that will control the direction more than department heads. The main course today is a deep dive into how the Federal Reserve is responsible for inflation and the housing crisis and how to reform it. Famed economist Brian Wesbury joins us for a comprehensive analysis of how the Federal Reserve’s mission creep into quantitative easing has contributed to inflation. Brian makes a case for terminating the Fed's ability to focus on employment, ending its authority to buy up assets, and reform its personnel and culture.   Learn more about your ad choices. Conservatives are celebrating Trump’s Cabinet picks, and undoubtedly the foreign policy and national security choices are great. However, the real shortcomings of the first term were in domestic policy. On that front, we still have a lot of work to do. I explain how success in dealing with inflation boils down to several proposals on cutting corporate and individual welfare and devolving them to the states. Any discussion about “waste, fraud, and abuse” is a fraud. Moreover, we just re-elected the same congressional leaders. Yet the Trump media mob are trying to demand that DeSantis appoint Lara Trump to the Senate rather than using their influence to go after RINOs.  Learn more about your ad choices. First, we review the good, the bad, and the ugly of Trump’s appointees so far. I make the case for shooting down Kristi Noem as Homeland Security Secretary and Scott Bessent as Treasury Secretary. Also, with Marco Rubio becoming secretary of state, I argue that the best person to fill his Senate seat is James Uthmeier, DeSantis’ chief of staff. Next, we’re joined by my colleague Kevin Freeman, author of “Pirate Money,” for an update on his plan to enact transactional gold in the states. He offers a sobering view of the feasibility of ever cutting spending at the federal level. He believes the best we can do is work with the Trump administration to facilitate the designation of transactional gold as functional and legal tender. We are facing unavoidable economic pain; we as may as well build an escape hatch. Kevin has the most realistic plan to do just that. He believes that if Texas and Florida adopt this plan, it will be more transformational than anything we can hope for in Congress.     Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
We have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to forge transformational change, but only through a narrow path of issues and leverage points. Today, I explain how we are only in the pregame show and have not faced the adverse headwinds that will determine whether we succeed or not. On the personal level, going forward, I will not presuppose victory when it's not there yet, nor will I pre-judge failure based on problems with Trump’s first term. Part of utilizing this opportunity is finally leaning into primaries. Many conservatives are upset at GOP senators for supporting the same McConnell-style candidates for majority leader, but they should have gotten involved in primaries. Many of these RINOs are up in 2026, and the time to start planning is now. I also go through some of Trump’s political appointments. Finally, I warn about the coming “economic populism” canard from Democrats and how to disarm it. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
We’ve defeated Democrat control electorally, but now it’s time to break the Democrats' permanent majority over ideological issues. Today, I offer a provocative thought – that even as Democrats failed to win a permanent electoral majority, they have created a permanent ideological majority. Republican officials and even their voters now subscribe to so many liberal ideas on fiscal and social issues that are to the left of Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign. Next, I analyze Trump’s appointments and the race for Senate majority leader and offer a principled but pragmatic way to staff Trump’s Cabinet. Conservatives are concerned about the prospect of John Thune for majority leader, but the reason he will likely win is because they slept through red-state Senate primaries. I go through the list of red-state senatorial and gubernatorial elections for 2026 so you can see how big our opportunity is to change the party. If we actually build a movement, we can elect 15 red-state governors who govern like DeSantis, but only if we stay focused and get Trump to make the right endorsements.  Learn more about your ad choices. Now is when the real work begins. Voting is like a gun, but legislative activism is like the bullet to load that gun. Today, I offer a unique presentation on why spectacular electoral victories for the Right always end in both policy and political failure within two years. This time will be no different if we don’t change our approach. Weaving together some electoral observations from the election results together with policy analysis, I offer an agenda built on empowering states to go separate ways on a bunch of critical issues. Rather than promising to cut spending and then never doing it, Republicans should use the few leverage points they have to devolve welfare, agriculture, transportation, and education programs to the states so that they can go in separate ways. We also need to fortify red states from the inevitable Democrat comeback, and that will require a new focus on primaries. We must strike while the iron is hot. We will never enjoy more political capital than today.  Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
This time must be different. Today, I explain why and how Republicans can use the mandate they have to save the country and build a durable electoral coalition. If they merely act the way they always do, they will not only screw us on policy but also lose their electoral viability. I explain the mixed bag on coalition shifting, how Republicans might not even win the House, and why the House didn’t track with the presidential election. Based on this assessment, I list some immediate challenges and opportunities. They have a clear mandate on crime and immigration, and those are the best issues for their coalition. Also, we must floor the gas pedal in red-state legislatures and 2026 gubernatorial primaries. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Not everything hinges upon the presidency. Today, I take a deep dive into the doctrine of the lesser magistrate and how conservatives can and must create impervious red islands through which to govern in accordance with God and the Constitution. Thankfully, new data shows that people are self-sorting and this is already beginning to occur. If Trump wins, blue states will teach us a lesson in the power of federalism. They are already planning to implement their policies at the state level. We must learn from them and do the same thing if Harris wins. But here’s the kicker: Even if Trump wins, we must fortify red states while we still can. I explain how even some of our federal focus should be directed toward devolving power to the states. We have so much energy behind voting Republican in a presidential election. My final message for this year is that we must harness that energy every day in between presidential elections to focus on red-state primaries and legislative sessions.   Learn more about your ad choices. Nobody is putting forth a realistic solution to the twin economic and illegal immigration crises we face — regardless of who wins the election. We briefly broach the economic issues to show how we will suffer stagflation regardless of the outcomes, and we need serious thinkers to create escape hatches in the red states. As for illegal immigration, the solution is much easier. We’re joined by Ronald Mortensen, fellow at Center for Immigration Studies and a retired career U.S. Foreign Service officer, who has put forth a comprehensive list of ideas for states to clamp down on identity theft. He makes the case that ID theft is the critical path to illegal aliens remaining in the country and that if states only enforced and augmented those laws, we wouldn’t even need to deport many of them because the employment magnet would dry up. He offers some specific ideas on how states can enforce these laws. Going after ID thefts is the best political, strategic, and legal path to ending the problem, and it can all be done in red states.  Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
While every conservative media personality is obsessed about cheesy election memes, red states are voting on life-altering ballot initiatives. The Left is outspending us everywhere, and outside Florida, there is no organized leadership at top levels of the party to fight these initiatives. Florida is the one place where churches are fully engaged thanks to the governor. We’re joined by Erik Dellenback, the faith- and community-based liaison to Gov. DeSantis, who shares his work with churches on raising awareness about Amendment 4. He explains the proper role of pastors in this fight and why they have an obligation to fight when politics steps into God’s dominion. He believes that because of their other initiatives, they have successfully created a model partnership with faith-based communities that should be replicated in other states. We also discuss why Republicans have been losing on abortion and how Florida’s efforts on behalf of child adoption are helping staunch that bleeding. Overall, we must engage churches on issues within God’s kingdom if we ever hope to stop the bad actors from "California-ing" red states.   Learn more about your ad choices. First, we begin with a roundup of down-ballot news throughout the country. We continue to lack leadership on any of these issues and races outside Florida. Next, we’re joined by Blaze News investigative reporter Steve Baker for a riveting update on the recovery operations in Western North Carolina. Baker has been on the ground with private veteran groups for two weeks and has formulated a clear vision of what is and isn’t going on there. We cut through some of the misinformation on both sides to conclude that yes, the state Guard, FEMA, and the military have been on the ground, but in shockingly low numbers given the magnitude of the tragedy. He explains how during every other equivalent domestic and even foreign natural disaster, we have used a much larger military presence. He also observes how a well-organized cadre of former special operators have changed the way we respond and are building plans and infrastructure for the future. Finally, he discusses his personal fight with the FBI, as he faces prison time for simply reporting from the Capitol on January 6. We discuss the need for Trump to win and pardon nonviolent offenders but also the need for our side to prepare for resistance from terribly misinformed Republicans. Learn more about your ad choices. In our continuing coverage preparing for Republican governance on the other side of the election, I diagnose the problem with the GOP overall. Republicans always focus on yesterday’s issue that is no longer in contention or tomorrow’s distraction that is outside the Overton window. But on the issue in front of us now, which is enough to destroy civilization, they walk in lockstep with Democrats. With that thesis, I give an update on immigration and crime to show how Republicans are actually doing nothing to fight those battles but use cheap talking points about oblique parts of the issue. Likewise, Republicans are basically acquiescing to feminism and gender ideology but are opting to focus on cheap talking points about female sports. I share shocking new survey data showing how feminism and the war on femininity are the source of the transgender problem.     Reply Reply all Forward DH Learn more about your ad choices. Since 2020, the Right in America has been singularly focused on one mission: re-electing Donald Trump. Now that we are on the cusp of possible victory, do we have a plan for "the day after"? Today, I offer an analysis of the state of the race, but more importantly, try to game out what comes next. I explain how we can’t make this personal about loving or hating one man, but about a relentless focus on arriving at specific outcomes. What are the realistic and unrealistic expectations by issue? I offer some opening thoughts. Also, there are many down-ballot issues and races at stake. We are facing a "use it or lose it" moment with power in red states.  Learn more about your ad choices. Everyone thinks that our survival hinges upon the election results. Obviously, we don’t want Democrats, but let’s not kid ourselves into believing Republicans will do anything to forestall the financial collapse, unless we change the policies and personnel. First, I warn about some concerning figures on Trump’s transition team and how we need to be prepared as a movement to veto bad Cabinet picks. Next, I’m joined by Tracy Shuchart, an expert in financial and commodities markets, to discuss the unprecedented market signals we are observing. We go through all of the signals from the S&P, gold, Treasuries, and economic data to show how we are facing an intractable stagflation bomb with the likelihood of a credit and housing collapse. We prove how there is not a single viable policy on the table to prevent this. In the meantime, Tracy offers some investment advice. She is bullish on gold and silver and also points to at-risk metals as a possible emerging market to watch.  Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
We need to seriously prepare a plan to hit the ground running if Trump does pull this one out. I raise some concerns about personnel choices, congressional leadership, and the upcoming lame-duck session. Trump must make it clear that Congress should not pass any transformational bills during the lame duck and that all disaster spending must be paid for with unspent funds from the Green New Deal. Next, I break down the tab for this past fiscal year to show how nobody has a plan to stop the deficit-driven inflation from exploding in the next year — and that Republicans will own all the carnage. So why not start building a plan now? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

It's bad when our ability for self governance at the national level comes down to identifying a mommy or daddy party. It really has become a suicide pact. Best can be hoped for is influence on a local level.

The dawkturz requiring this girl to update vaccinations before necessary unrelated treatment issuing this girl 3 immediate consecutive jabs have no idea what could be causing her horrible afflictions. All these dawkturz know is that it definitely ain't that one thing. Yep, the MSM presstitutes will conveniently miss this story too!

Daniel is a true thought leader 4 conservatives. Always identifying opportunities for the feckless republicans and providing strategies. If they listened, they might stand a chance. As the status quo goes, R's moving left, they'll soon be extinct like the non-communist parties are in Europe. If the R's are to act as weak socialists, they'll never again govern, when one can have the actual thing the D's provide in being strong communists. He could have and should have replaced Rush.
