Chilean sea bass is my favorite fish, it's a bit on the pricey side, but well worth it. Treat yourself or yourself and your family to something special because in today’s episode we are going to recreate my Miso Glazed Chilean sea bass. For this recipe you will need the following ingredients: ½ cup of white miso ¼ cup mirin or low sodium soy sauce 1 tbsp cup of rice vinegar 1 tbsp of water (if I had sake I would just omit the rice vinegar and water and just add ¼ cup of sake, but I don’t and this worked well for me) 3 tbsp sugar 1 lemon to zest and slice 2 Chilean sea bass fillet or another sea bass each about 6 oz in size. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Hey Foodie, We're continuing to keep it Vegan with this delicious recipe, Spicy Thai Stir-Fry with peaches.  I don't know about you but Peaches this season have been so juicy and delectable.  This recipe was a challenge, I wanted to mesh together with the savor flavorings in Stir-Fry with the candied flavor of Peaches to create the best sweet and savor combo EVER! This dish serves two and cooks up in 20 minutes. Here's what you will need: 3/4 Cups of Jasmine Rice or Basmati Rice 1 1/4 cup of Vegetable Stock 1/4 cup of unsalted cashew 1 zucchini 1 summer squash 2 mini sweet peppers or one bell pepper (yellow or Orange) 1 Large Peach (but if your peaches are on the smaller side use two peaches) 3 cloves of garlic 2 Red Pepper Flakes 2 tablespoons of Tamari 2 tablespoons of Agave 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire (Vegan option) 2 tablespoons of hemp seeds ** Salt and Pepper to Taste
We're still on our Vegan kick and boy do I have a delicious recipe for you!!  Full disclosure- I discovered this recipe online but I added took some ingredients away to make it my own and I encourage you to explore as much as you can with different flavors. We are cooking with White Miso Paste, which is a new flavor on the show. It's super tasty and really sets our dish off!  I hope you enjoy this dish as much as I did. Check your voter registration and stay safe!  Here’s what you need: 1/2 cup cashews 2 lemon 2 garlic cloves 1 scallion 1/4 cup pumpkin seeds 3 tbsp nutritional yeast 1/2 tsp Thai chile 2 cups of broccoli florets 8 oz Banza rotini 1 tbsp white miso paste -Khiry
Hey Good Morning Foodie!  So what's for breakfast? Why don't you try making this delicious Tofu Scramble? It cooks up in about 15 minutes and yields four servings so it can last you throughout the week.  You will need:  1 10z package of organic firm tofu 1 yellow onion  2 Jalapeños sliced    4 oz of white mushroom  2 handfuls of baby spinach 2 oz of roasted tomatoes in Olive Oil 8.8 oz of Brown Rice 1 Tablespoon of ground Tumeric 2 tablespoons of Nutritional yeast Salt and Pepper to taste Enjoy! I love you for listening and thanks for your support!  -Khiry
When it is hot like it is outside I don’t want to fire up my stove! Nothing is better on a hot day than ice-cold water and a refreshing summer salad.  This salad plays on the salty and sweet flavor combination (which is probably my favorite combo). This salad is a hit every time I make it and I hope you and your family enjoy it too.  This salad should yield two servings BUT depending on how big your hands are; you might have leftovers! You will need: 3 handfuls of Baby Arugula 1/4 cup of quartered grape tomatoes 2 Golden delicious apples peeled and diced into one-inch cubes 1 small red onion diced 2 cups of really good parmesan cheese (More for garnish) Balsamic Vinegar glaze for the dressing Optional: Protein of your choice; I’ve roasted salmon, shrimp, and chicken and put it into this salad. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Bucatini Carbonara

Bucatini Carbonara

2020-07-0107:24

Carbonara is a creamy, pepper flaked staple, only its never made with cream ever and is probably just as American as Italian. While nobody is sure how Carbonara came to be, the combination of bacon, eggs, and pasta is glorious. Let’s get in the kitchen and learn more about Carbonara and make some for ourselves. For this recipe, you will need the following ingredients About 3 tablespoons olive oil 1/3 pound pancetta or bacon, small dice 5 to 6 cloves garlic, chopped 1/2 cup EsOkay white wine 7 large egg yolks Salt and pepper 1 pound Bucatini pasta (linguine or spaghetti is also fine) Grated Pecorino Romano and Parmesan cheese 1/2 cup flat-leaf parsley, finely chopped --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
The final part of our Juneteenth celebration! In Part 1 we talked about the history of Juneteenth and why it is an important part of American history and we made the most refreshing Juneteenth Red Wine Spritzer. In Part two we barbeque braised beef ribs and in Part 3 we are going to make my mother’s Potato Salad. You may have to add more ingredients depending on how you like it, but this is how we are going to get down you will need: You will need: A 5-pound bag of russet potatoes 1 Large Vidalia Onion cut into very small pieces 1 large Green Bell Pepper 5 stalks of celery cut into small pieces 2.5 cups of Mayonnaise ¼ cup of Yellow Mustard ¼ cup of Sweet Relish 1 tablespoon of Granulated sugar (To taste) --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Part 2 our Juneteenth celebration! Let’s get into our braised BBQ Beef Ribs Now Braising is a technique I'm using for the ribs and it's basically frying (meat in this case) lightly and then stewing it slowly in a closed container, the container being my dutch oven. Braising meat is a fantastic technique especially if you do not have time to marinate your meat overnight or if you are using a cheaper cut of meat, which most of the time tends to be tougher and is honestly the only type of meat that can stand up to braising. These tougher cuts have collagen that breaks down, making them both tender, moist, and extremely flavourful. Some meats, though, such as sausages, are equally as happy being braised as they are quickly grilled over a flame because they have enough fat in them. For this recipe you will need the following ingredients: 2.5 pounds bone-in beef short ribs, cut crosswise into 2-inch pieces Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper 3 tablespoons Olive oil 2 Large onions, chopped 3 celery stalks, chopped 6 cloves of minced garlic 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour 2 cups low-salt beef stock 1 cup of sweet baby rays BBQ https://www.rockthevote.org/ --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
To kick off season two of Cooking in Khirys Kitchen, I thought today; Juneteenth would be a perfect day to have a premiere. On today’s show, we will be making a Juneteenth feast, BBQ ribs, potato salad, and a Juneteenth Red spritzer. Juneteenth is an annual American holiday that occurs on June 19. It commemorates June 19, 1865, when Union General Gordon Granger read federal orders in Galveston, TX, that all previously enslaved people in TX were free. Which at the time was estimated to be 250,000 enslaved people. #Blacklivesmatter #Blacktranslivesmatter  Let's pull up for each other so we can build respect and development communication. When we communicate, that's when change happens.  Exclusive Winc Deal for foodies like you: winc.mivh.net/KPcooks ½ pint of frozen raspberries ½ pint of frozen sliced strawberries 1 bottle 750 ML of red wine, or if you want to make this a virgin drink, Cranberry juice 1-quart sparkling water or seltzer, I’m using ginger-infused sparkling water. Fill the bottom of two large wine glasses with frozen raspberries and strawberries.  Pour in the wine to cover and let stand for about 10 minutes. Top the glasses with seltzer when you are ready to serve. Garnish with a slice of strawberry, and there you have it! A Juneteenth Red Wine Spritzer.  I hope you enjoy this drink as much as I do, but I hope when you drink we reflect on how far we have come as a human race and how much more work we need to do. Police brutality must stop and we all have to do our parts to lift each other up. I don't want George Floyd’s. Breonna Taylor, ahmaud arbery, Rayshard Brooks, and the many other brothers and sisters who have lost their lives to be in vain. Let's pull up for each other and respect each other. When we do that, communication can happen, and when we communicate we can create change.
Hey Foodie!  I hope you are safe and doing well during this time. Salmon Cakes are so easy to make, and they are very comforting. My mother used to prepare them for me all the time, and I thought I'd share the recipe. Now the beautiful thing about cooking is that you can make it how you like it. I only used ingredients I had on hand, but if you would like to use garlic or bell pepper or maybe mash potatoes as a binder, go for it! Whatever you do, just have fun!    For this recipe, you will need the following ingredients  15 oz can of Pink Salmon (Chicken of the Sea)  1 Large Onion Roughly Chopped   1 large egg  1 cup of Italian Breadcrumbs   1 Tbsp of Granulated Garlic  1 Tbsp of Oldbay or Chesapeake Seasoning  1 Tbsp of crushed red pepper flakes Salt and Pepper to Taste  A quarter cup of Canola oil Lemon Wedges and Dill for Garnish --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
