Jackson presided over the 339th State District Felony Court in Houston, Harris County, Texas for 11 years before stepping down to run for county commissioner. She oversaw more than 100 jury trials that ran the gamut from low-level drug offenses to capital murder cases. In 2003, Maria T. Jackson was appointed as a full-time municipal court judge for the City of Houston. During her tenure with the City, she also served as a trainer and instructor for the Texas Municipal Courts Education Center. Prior to taking the bench, she was a municipal bond attorney and a certified mediator. Some of her accomplishments are: “Women of Power and Purpose” Award "Woman of Now” Hall of Fame Honoree “Top 30 Most Influential Women of Houston” in 2014 “Best Criminal Court Judge of 2011”

August 2002, Jackie Adams signed her lease for the Melodrama Boutique. She will be celebrating 18 years of ownership later this year. She’s here to tell all about her journey. Congratulations, Jackie! Jackie Adams was born in West Virginia and raised in Detroit, Michigan before moving to Houston. She finished a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Grambling State University and Atmospheric Sciences at University of Houston. She landed her first job in cancer research at M.D. Anderson and briefly worked as a Geochemist for West port Technology. Her Retail Business Management journey came to life after she accepted an entry-level sales position managing twelve stores in a small Texas-based company. Soon after, she was promoted to a mid-management buyer. As a buyer, she was living out her passion but dreamed about a more fulfilling career with autonomy. Later, she introduced us to her Melodrama Boutique.

Meet Donovan Lewis as he talks about his sports radio career journey. Watch and share! Born and raised in Dallas, Donovan graduated with a degree in Radio/Television from East Texas State University (now Texas A&M, Commerce). Donovan started his radio career as a board operator at Talk radio 570AM in 1993. From 1994 to 1999, he had an on-air experience on the Kevin McCarthy Show working on the “Flight Deck”. In 2003, Donovan moved to 93.3 FM “The Bone” as the morning show producer for the Bo Roberts Morning show and later at a co-host/sports reporter for “The Big Bone Morning Show”. In 2006, Donovan was moved to BaD Radio (The Bob and Dan Show) on Sports Radio 96.7/1310. In 2015 paired with Texas Radio Hall of Famer Norm Hitzges to start The Norm and D Invasion also on The Ticket. He’s been the host of the Dallas Cowboys postgame show since 2007, also heard on the Ticket.

She led the strategic plan development to address diversity and inclusion in the workplace, in the community, and in the equitable delivery of health care. She graduated from the University of Houston and received a Certificate of Diversity Management in Health Care from Georgetown University.
