This is an audio clip from the live video "Paradigms & The Truth Labyrinth" streamed the 17th of february 2021, availabe here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10NC0mzM_6E.  History, and daily life keeps showing us how vulnerable we are to ‘the truth’. What is the truth? 🧐 We think something is true, until it’s not true anymore, until there is a better truth… a better truth because it became demonstrably true, and contradicts or suppresses the previous one. 👍👎👀 This episode is the first one of our deep dive on paradigms  #truth #paradigm #paradigmshift #change #podcast #cosmic #labyrinth #mind #thearts #crashlanding #science #scientific #religion #toneofvoice #storytelling #narratives
This is an audio clip from the live video "Celebrities & The Authenticity Dilemma" streamed the 26th of february 2021, availabe here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rlqdJQA8UiU.  The pandemic has disrupted relations among the masses, the elites and the celebrities who liaise between them. In 2020, the NY Times wrote an article titled “Celebrity Culture Is Burning” and the year has been rich in scandals highlighting expectations that influencers of culture step into social debates to help audiences make sense of the world around them. In this video, Camille clarifies our research angle on the subject matter and asks one key question that helps navigate the space of celebrity culture with total clarity. #celebrityculture #celebrities #culture #narrative #social #environmental #change #communications #psychology #storytelling #media #business #attention #trust #intimacy
This is an audio clip from the live video "Is disgusting people a good idea?" streamed the 11th of february 2021, availabe here: https://youtu.be/jKVDr4AvCPQ.  Is Disgusting People a Good Idea?  One strategy that has been used quite a bit over the last years in change communications, and in particular in food industry documentary films 🍕🥩🍖🧀is the use of disgust 🤢… to turn people off meat consumption for instance. Is disgust a good strategy? Does it work? With who? Under what conditions? What should we know?🤔   #change #art ,humour #disgust #storytelling #food #communications #narratives
This is an audio clip from the live video "The Artist & The Impact Frame"  streamed the 9th of february 2021, available here: https://youtu.be/wkpyiaaut4o Measuring social and environmental impact is a slippery slope! And even more for the share of artists who consider the impact factor in their work.  One very legitimate question that often gets asked is: “how much of the left brain should the artist put into framing a production” and is it really the artist's role to think about impact?    The short answer is: “only you can answer!”  The longer answer is Camille’s clarification of Cosmic’s perspective in this video.   #change #impact #art #thearts #social #environmental #framing #storytelling #culture #philanthropy #leftbrain #rightbrain
This is an audio clip from the live video "Impact Investment & The Right Brain" streamed the 21st of January 2021, available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSot39aqFfI As interest in “the right brain side” of human society is growing, the buzz around “boosting the creative economy” can get confusing. Does investing in creative industries mean more money towards Culture & the Arts? Not quite...
This is an audio clip from the live video "The Embarrassing Truth Behind Awareness Raising" streamed the 10th of December 202o, available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_ozgSQV-mk Camille highlights fundamentals of awareness raising for campaigners, storytellers, artists, and anyone involved in change communications.
This is an audio clip from the live video The Art of Disidentifying streamed the 14thof January 2021, available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vNAnoxRuNU Let’s assume the problem is “the other” or in “the other”; social and environmental demands to “an other” are intrinsically linked to a demand to disidentify. Camille takes us through this concept that we know… until we forget it again. #change #communications #identity #imaginary #demand #psychoanalysis #social #environmental #systemic #climate
[Netflixspiracies, You and I] In this in-depth workshop session, Camille shares fundamental tools to help you frame your impact story in a way that truly engages audiences. Through this case study, you will identify the common mistakes that most visible documentary films & impact-driven content productions still make today when attempting to mobilise audiences on social and environmental issues. Art piece of the day by Julie Cambell It’s quite disarming to realise that the way we experience life is mostly based on the structure of our mental world, and that the structure of our mental world affects our reality. Is it that obvious? Is this true? How so? And what does it mean for the stories we tell and the work we produce as artists and influencers of culture? Today we feature a piece from Austrian performance artists & architects Honey & Bunny. One strategy that has been used quite a bit over the last years in change communications, and in particular in food industry documentary films is the use of disgust … to turn people off meat consumption for instance. Is disgust a good strategy? Does it work? With who? Under what conditions? What should we know? Camille just opened up an important conversation about the change agent & the culture of change communications. It starts with his personal story. If this theme resonates with you and you want to become part of the conversation as well as explore the keys of the method Camille has designed, the launch webinar will take place on Tuesday 19th of January at 4pm CET (10am Eastern Time). We wish you the very best for 2021!
What awareness-raising campaign or documentary hit you to the point where you got involved? What happened and why? I’m actually not surprised the US election turned into such a tight race. Actually, just the fact that the current President would even have a chance to win again - after all of the scandals and tweets and political horror of the last four years, that very fact is not surprising at all… Why? Because there is one thing he knows very well and most people don’t… Thanks for tuning in,  Camille.
Recording from the live mix broadcasted on 23/04/20 on www.cosmic.show I interviewed Leon Seesix aka Dotmasters about his approach to the artistic practice, the meaning of his 20+ years in the field and the do’s and don’ts of artistic collaboration. This episode contains explicit language, and very strong insights. About Dotmasters Dotmasters’ website Dotmasters’ Instagram Produced & mixed by Camille Duran. Our relationship to the present moment has been broadly dying across western culture for decades now, because of the narratives, the structures, the systems that make it so “time is money”, the narratives that make it so we don’t have the time, and so we listen to podcasts in 2X. Thank you for tuning in, Camille.
Today I am offering a few thoughts about tweeting, commenting, debating on corporate green washing announcements vs. not spending any time on this, regardless of that burning feeling inside. Let’s do a post-benefits analysis, Shall we? this episode feature the photo "New World" by Franc Pena, Instagram account here https://www.instagram.com/_francpena/ stay tuned, Camille
It happened after a long day. It was like...11pm,  I was tired, laying down on my sofa, ready to go to bed. Checking in messages and stuff on my smartphone. And for whatever reason, I mechanically opened Linkedin and started browsing publications, which I very rarely do… even in the daytime. Scrolling down a couple of times. And here it was, the perfect trap, in my feed. Of course, I fell into it… This episode features the work of Stefan Kuhnigk @thecoffeemonsters. He draws monsters from coffee stains, I love his work, and it’s the perfect way to reflect on the systemic stains made by the conventional coffee world, and clarify how we should go about it.  Stay tuned.
Do you ever argue with your partner, with your roommate, with your mother, or whoever you are living with. Yes? Maybe? I am sure you noticed that what you argue about is never really the reason for the argument. Couples don’t break up because one of them did not empty the dishwasher... It seems there is always something bigger, something unacknowledged that is overshadowing the apparent topic of the argument. Right? Today we are featuring the Sculpture “Migratory Soul” by Josh Keyes which you can find here: https://www.instagram.com/joshkeyes.art/ Thank you for tuning in, Camille.
