Description
Crazy Sexy Food is a podcast about the love of food, the importance of food and how food plays a part in different people’s lives. It’s about the people behind the food and the stories behind the people. The motive is to get to the bottom of our crazy, sexy food culture. Celebrities, restauranteurs, chefs and industry insiders are interviewed by Hannah Harley Young, a photographer by trade and a foodie at heart. Each episode she sits down with a new guest and discusses how food has played a part in their life, their career and fun, topical banter. The podcast is part of the Crazy Sexy Food show, currently found on YouTube.

I’m joined by cheeky chap, Calum Harris, this week who popped over to talk all things vegan, why he turned vegan, why he isn’t preachy about being a vegan and his new cookbook, Proper Healthy! We covered it all; his childhood and what he ate growing up, why he loves a ham crisp (!!!!) and why TikTok is better than Instagram! Controversial!
He even brought me food! Delicious chocolate and pistachio cups with crunchy Weetabix bases. Divine!

Cheffie is not just a platform; it's a dining revolution. It transforms the traditional dining model, giving chefs the power to launch virtual restaurants, set their own menus, prices, and hours—turning every chef into an entrepreneur.
Their platform liberates chefs from the confines of a fixed location, offering them the autonomy to craft their culinary destiny.
For foodies, Cheffie is a passport to a world of flavours, delivering diverse cuisines directly to their doorsteps. It's convenience, variety, and connection all in one place, just a click away. Visit cheffie.co.uk for more information.
This week I’m joined by Candice Brown, the winner and star from The Great British Bake Off, pub landlady of The Greenman in Eversholt, charity campaigner and all round great girl! We sat down just before the Christmas madness and spoke all about her experience on Bake Off, how it changed her life and catapulted her career, and the path she has travelled since.
Candice is brutally honest about dealing with negative press, online trolls and also opened up about her diagnosis of ADHD and dealing with mental health.
Candice is a real force of nature and a huge talent and I thoroughly enjoyed this no-holds barred conversation!

I’ve finally got Poppy on the sofa! This week I’m joined by the Potato Queen herself, Poppy Cooks aka Poppy O’Toole. The social media sensation joined to talk all about her new book, The Actually Delicious Slow Cooker Cookbook, how COVID was the pivotal turn in her life, how she became “viral” and how she creates the brilliant content she puts out.
I’ve known Poppy for several years now, and watching her grow has been so wonderful to watch. She’s the most down to earth, humble, lovely woman and is as hilarious in real life as she is online. I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did!

Today I’m joined by one of the best chefs of our generation, Theo Randall. As the chef proprietor at Theo Randall at the InterContinental in London, he is cooking up some of the best Italian foodn out there. He came over for a chat and we covered it all. Why Italian cookery is just so good, his favourite regional cuisines, earning his stripes (and the Michelin Star!) at The River Café, and we bond over seriously gourmet childhood sandwiches!
I really loved Theo’s down to earth nature and true knowledge of cookery. His new cookbook, Verdura, is out now.

This week comes one of the most inspirational stories you will hear. I’m joined by Jon Watts, who, at the age of 18 found himself in prison. During his time inside, he turned his life around, completed all 3 levels of the Duke of Edinburgh Award and was released as a full qualified chef. He worked at Jamie Oliver’s Italian restaurant before going on to set up his street food stall and catering business. He is now the proud writer of Speedy Weeknight Meals and is a public speaker for various organisations focussing on young offenders and rehabilitation. This is a story that will blow your mind and perhaps see young offenders in a different light; that there is room for growth, second chances and a better life.

This week I’m joined by a woman I’ve admired for years. Amanda Ross is the founder – alongside her husband – of Cactus TV, the production company that makes Saturday Kitchen and Between the Covers. As the nation’s most popular live cooking show, I’ve avidly watched Saturday Kitchen for years and to then realise the brains and powerhouse behind it was a strong female, I just had to get Amanda on.
We talk all about her childhood growing up in Essex, the changing landscape of TV and what it takes to make it in food TV. We discuss the plethora of incredible chefs she’s worked with over the years and what really goes on behind the scenes of a live show. I find Amanda truly inspiring and absolutely loved this conversation! I hope you do too.

It would have to take a special someone for me to bring the crew out of London, away from the set, to film an episode. And Raymond Blanc is indeed that special someone.
We travelled to the magical Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons in Oxfordshire, where Raymond resides, to film a truly special conversation. Sat amongst the famous gardens, we spoke all about his childhood growing up in France, his somewhat tumultuous start in the kitchens, finally taking over Le Manoir and what food, Michelin stars and tastes mean to him.
I felt really honoured to have had this time with him and a huge thank you to the team at Le Manoir for accommodating us.

Welcome to episode two! I’m joined by Tasha Ghouri this week, the star of Love Island and this year’s Strictly Come Dancing. Tasha is a real force of nature – for the greater good. She was the first deaf islander to appear on the show and has used her platform to educate and raise awareness for deaf charities and what it’s like to live with a cochlear implant.
She also wrote a book earlier this year, Hits Different, which is loosely based on her life. We need more Tasha’s in this world changing the narrative on reality shows, highlighting the idea of ‘normal’ within what can be a very hyper-perfect aesthetic.

She’s baaaackk!!! It was a long time coming but I am finally here, on your airwaves with a bumper SEASON 11! I cannot believe how far I have come and this season is not going to disappoint.
I had to kick things off with one of my childhood greats, Andi Peters. He presented my favourite Saturday morning show, Live & Kicking, and is still as busy as ever as he hosts the ITV competitions throughout your weekday mornings. Aside from TV, he’s quite the culinary maestro and delves into his favourite tastes, how he perfects his mashed potato and why he’s not a fan of sauces! We find out all about his McDonald’s order and, of course, his favourite crisps.
This was a total dream come true and Andi is even better in real life!

For the season finale, I had to get my favourite couple on! Camilla Kerslake and Chris Robshaw are the perfect mix of fun, cheeky, talented and inspirational! In this episode, we talk all about how food is so intertwined in both their careers as a classical singer (Camilla!) and a pro ruby player (Chris). We discover Chris’s love of win and his entry into wine investments, and we find out all about Camilla’s pregnancy cravings.
The conversation is cheeky, funny and full of laughs as I managed to squeeze the three of us in bed in our suite at the Four Seasons Hotel.
Thank you to everyone who’s listened this season, it’s been a whirlwind of a ride as I recorded the episodes both before and after having a baby (and technically on the day of!). I’ll be back with another season sooner than you think….!

This season I have partnered with the Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane, who have generously hosted us in one of their fabulous suites. Each episode, I get up, close and personal with my guests, order room service and chat all about their life in food. It doesn’t get better than this! Thank you so much to the Four Seasons Hotel for their hospitality!
**I’m delighted that this season of Crazy Sexy Food is headline sponsored by premium appliance manufacturer, Miele. Over the last few years, I have got close to this incredible brand through Tom Kerridge’s Pub in the Park festival, where I have had the pleasure to watch (and eat!) dishes prepared by some of the UK’s finest chefs using Miele. I was also invited to a special event by the brand at the fabulous Exton Park, which features Miele throughout, with lunch cooked by one of the UK’s most exciting and innovative restaurateurs, Tommy Banks.
If you are on a kitchen journey, I would highly recommend a visit to one of its Experience Centres where you will not only receive bespoke advice but can also join one of the many courses to experience its appliances first hand, including getting to enjoy lots of delicious food. Excitingly it’s opening a new Mayfair store which is just opposite the Ritz - a great way to spend an afternoon!
This year is an exciting milestone for the family-owned company who will be celebrating its 125th anniversary, and while Miele continues to innovate, it stays true to its motto “Immer Besser”, which means Forever Better. The majority of its products are put through tough durability tests during the development phase to simulate 20 years use - for ovens this includes opening and closing the door 24,000 times!
To celebrate the partnership, Miele is kindly giving my listeners 10% off its fabulous appliances on miele.co.uk or through its Experience Centres until September 2024 with the code CRAZYMIELE
**I’m so happy to be partnering with Odysea on this season of the podcast. They’ve been scouring Greece & further afield for the finest food producers since 1991, bringing the highest quality flavours that the Mediterranean has to offer. Their range is carefully curated, to include hand-selected, traditionally-cured olives, award-winning honey from lovingly tended bees, and premium quality oils sourced from only the most acclaimed regional producers.
Food is a way to get back in touch with the things that matter most and connect on new and deeper levels and so the lovely people at Odysea are offering Crazy Sexy Food listeners 15% off at odysea.com using the code CSF15 until the end of 2024. This code can be used across the entire range, excluding brass mills and wines.
TW: Conversations about birth trauma and eating disorders feature in this episode.
Candice Brathwaite is a force to be reckoned with and so it was a huge pleasure to welcome her to my Four Seasons Hotel suite for a good ol’ chat. This is a particularly special episode for me, as you’ll find out towards the end of the chat when I disclose to Candice that I’m going into hospital that night to have my baby!!
I couldn’t think of a better guest to spend my final moments with before my life changed forever. She has carved a career writing and speaking about motherhood, from the perspective of a black woman in the UK and the issues and real life stats that come with that. She is unapologetically herself and continues to advocate for the black community about the unique experiences black mothers face. Her new book, Manifest(o), is out later this year.

This week I have the Queen of the Seas, the star of Bravo’s Below Deck, Captain Sandy Yawn! I’m still pinching myself that I got to chat with her and she’s on the podcast! I am the biggest Below Deck fan and I got to grill her on all the yacht antics, her favourite on-board chefs, what makes a great chef on these yachts and how she leads a crew.
Sandy’s had an incredibly colourful life, with some really tough moments along the way. Her strength and resilience has catapulted her not only as an inspiration but as a public speaker and author. Her book, Be The Calm or Be The Storm, is out now!

This week I’m joined by Michelin starred chef, Claude Bosi. Fresh off of gaining yet another star, he comes over the the Four Seasons Hotel for breakfast in bed. We talk all about his childhood growing up in Lyon, France, what his stars mean to him and what he looks for in a chef. We enjoyed some hilarious moments, namely over a plate of French toast!
It was a real pleasure to sit down with such a talented man, a staple on the London food scene for so many years and I love how unapologetically himself he is!

What an action packed episode I have for you this week! The Queen of British rap, Lady Leshurr joins me to talk all about her Kittitian heritage, why she loves conch so much and what the last few years have been like. She’s been on a bit of an hiatus, but she’s back bigger and better than ever and there are new tunes on the horizon!
She discusses her greatest love of all; salmon. She lives and breathes it! She tries avocado and pancakes for the first time, and finishes off the chat with a Crazy Sexy Food freestyle. What a gal our Melesha is!

I am back!!! It only took a year but I am here, live and direct, Season 10 baby! I am so incredibly excited to be back on the airwaves giving you that little dose of crazy, sexy foodie chats with some brilliant guests, and how else do I kick off the season than with the Dame herself, Prue Leith!
She joined me in bed at the Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane, over some delicious room service and we spoke all about her seven years judging The Great British Bake Off, why she loves pina coladas, Paul Hollywood’s eyes (I had to!) and her wonderful childhood growing up in South Africa.
Prue is a force to be reckoned with. At 84 years of age, she is still rocking our screens as well as her jazzy glasses and I hope I can be only a fraction of who she is when I am in my 80s! Long live the dame!

Charlie, James and Matt are such gentlemen and it was honestly a dream come to true to have them on! 13-year-old Hannah would have been shaking in her boots! They defined my playlist circa 2003! We talked all about their food habits, what they ask for on their riders and why marmite really is the holy grail.
Enjoy the episode and make sure to download the new album!

It’s the FINALE!!!! Season 9 is a wrap! And what a season it’s been.
I wanted to finish strong and get my lovely friend, Chef Chantelle Nicholson on for a chinwag. We talk all about her rise to culinary fame as the chef-owner of Apricity in London. We discuss her Green Michelin Stars, why we need to be more conscious about how and what we eat to lead a more sustainable life, her childhood in New Zealand, and of course, we bond over crisps! This is why we’re friends!!
It’s been an incredible season and I just wanted to thank every single one of you for supporting and listening. I wouldn’t be doing this without you!

It was a breath of fresh air to have Zak Abel join me on this week’s episode. Fresh off the stage from performing at the King’s Coronation concert, to releasing a brand new single, to prepping for his upcoming Autumn tour, Zak is a very talented man!
We talk all about his early career as a table tennis champion (!!), why he’s into healthy eating, the reasons he turned vegan and we have an absolute barrel of laughs putting the world to rights, debating whether Worcestershire sauce is the best or worst thing to happen to us all!! Here’s to wishing Zak a long and successful career!

I am overjoyed to have Calum Franklin on this podcast this week! For those not in the food world, you may not know him by name but you may have been lucky to have tried his food – particularly, his pies!! Coined as the King of Pies by Jamie Oliver, Calum is the ex-executive chef of Holborn Dining Rooms at the Rosewood Hotel in London, as well as the man who started up The Pie Room; an entire concept totally dedicated to pie making; hot, steaming, delicious pockets of meat and veg and pastry.
He has since left The Pie Room and is out in the big wide world planning some exciting new projects, coming soon.
We talk about his life growing up in South London, dealing with addiction and subsequently going to rehab, and why pies really do make the world go round!
It was a pleasure to have Calum on, he’s one of the good ones!

This week I’m joined by one of the nicest men in the game, Mr Paul Ainsworth. The Michelin starred chef owns No6 Padstow in Cornwall amongst a plethora of restaurants and guesthouses in the area.
He trained under the watchful eye of some of the greatest chefs of a generation; Gary Rhodes, Gordon Ramsay et al. He won his star in 2013 and has gone on to be one of the best chefs in the UK right now.
We talk all about the journey to success, how nothing worthwhile comes overnight and through dedication and hard work, good things will come to you. We discuss his ultimate dinner party, the food of the Seychelles and why family is everything!
