Description

Marloes Stam @marloesstam empowers listeners to create their own normal. From Embassy intern to working in the international start-up scene, her life looked promising on the outside. However, at age 25 her depression, anxiety and self-destructive behaviours got the best of her and she was faced with a burn-out. She refused to accept that this was her normal. The half-Dutch half-British millennial slowly but surely built a new framework and found herself on a spiritual path. It is her mission to inspire others to find their new normal, a normal that feels good to the soul.

In this episode I talk with Personal Mastery Specialist Jord Cuiper. After founding and running a successful start-up in Amsterdam (Fanly), he got seriously ill and was hospitalised; doctors told him he was forced to take a break. This took him on a path of self-exploration and spiritual growth and nowadays coaches high-impact individuals all around the world. Moreover, we talk about growing up feeling like 'the odd one out', unhealthy coping mechanisms and how we can break through to come back to our authentic self.
In this episode I talk about discovering parts within yourself that needs self improvement. I share what I am working on and my technique to come to the root cause of parts within yourself that need improvement.
In today's episode I talk about how I have been feeling these past days. Ironically, me starting a self-devolpment podcast I put too much pressure on myself and I lost my focus. I felt like I needed to be 'perfect' and a 'good example' instead of accepting my current reality. I share how I feel, what I do to keep my focus and how important acceptance for of your current reality is.
In this episode I talk about why we make the same mistakes over and over again. How you can break through certain patterns, observe your own thought without identifying with them. Its easier said than done, but very helpful if you want to get out of a vicious circle that doesn't bring you anywhere.
In this episode I talk about failure. Without failing we cannot succeed in life. Its something we should be proud of, because every time you try you are one step closer to your goals. Its the universe redirecting your focus, on something that is more nurturing to your soul.
In this episode I openly share my journey when it comes to mental health. I talk about how essential it is to share your struggles with your cheerleaders in life, what little things you can do to make yourself feel better and the fact that you should never be embarrassed for the way you feel.
I talk about the upsides of social distancing and self-quarantine. What can you do in these unusual times? I talk about cleaning out your closet, living from inspiring rather than fear-based thoughts and much more.
In this first episode I share a bit about my own background and why I am so excited to start this podcast.
