There are loads of award-winning ideas pinned up all over our walls, but it’s the unbelievably uphill battle to get it made, and get it made right, that we are all dying to hear about. Ugo and Léo reveal how they turned their youthful skateboard years into a (two time winning) design studio of the year. In 2024, Léo’s profile was selected for Parcours, an exhibition celebrating the 50th anniversary of the UQAM School of Design, which highlighted 50 graduates from the school since its founding in 1974. That same year, Léo was honored with the TDC Ascenders Award by The One Show in New York. She is a sought-after speaker, who’s taken part in conferences at Yale, Adobe 99u and Microsoft covering topics like human-centred design, behaviour change and designing for women.In 2021, Stephanie championed the development of the world’s first encyclopedia for Microaggressions: The Micropedia, which was awarded at Cannes. This judgement-free online tool provides easy-to-digest information where people can unlearn their unconscious bias and make immediate changes in their daily interactions. As one of the industry’s few BIPOC creative leaders and someone who had experienced microaggressions throughout her life, Stephanie approached this tool from a place of authenticity and personal experience.
